My lady and I had the privilege of a mini suite on this ship in October, a discounted offer! Absolutely fantastic! Quite possibly the best trip that we have been on anywhere in the world! BTW if you fall ill medicine and doctors are somewhat difficult but very efficient. This video just cannot do justice to the voyage but does represent it fairly. Thank you for revisiting our memories.
I agree the cruise is amazing and it is very hard to capture the true scale of the scenery. This earlier video was my best attempt to do that ruclips.net/video/CiqynaHxnwo/видео.html Michael
Very nice video and one of the best guides for the Hurtigruten I have seen. A very good summary of what you can expect on a trip. One important thing you clearly mention that other presenters quite often forget is that it is basically a ferry line with the possibility to use for a cruise, not a pure cruise line. For many ports along the route, Hurtigruten is the only connection to the rest of the world. One thing to mention is that most of the distances done during nighttime when going northbound are done during daytime when going southbound. So on a full return trip you are able to see every single distance and port at least once.
I did the full 12 day voyage on MS Richard With in August 2024 and it was the trip of a lifetime, worth every penny. Ignore the negative RUclips videos, this is one of the greatest trips to do on our planet. Like you I entered the photography competion and went one better than you - I won! Looking at other people's entries I felt confident I would do well, but was amazed I came first. My prize was a 50 minute video of the voyage shot by the on board events team. I later showed it to my friends who were enthralled by it, particularly the shots of the wildlife and the school of dolphins which appeared beside the ship. To my great regret Idid not see them myself and in hope of doing so I've booked to go on Hurtigruten's North Cape Line in spring 2026. This is a 15 day voyage with 10 stops from Oslo to the North Cape , finishing in Bergen.
Very good summary. I really enjoyed my trip. I think I would add #38. Hurtigruten is very popular with German tourists. So well worth practicing your Deutsch before you travel.
Yes, I was unbelievably lucky with the weather. As we say in England, the sun shines on the righteous!😳 😂 But I can definitely recommend the cruise as something to do.
@@michaelhortin Highly recommended. I took the Kirkenes-Bergen route in September, was very lucky with the weather. Great ships and good food (full pension included in the price).

Congrats on the win. I too saw very little wildlife like dolphins….

Thank you for this wonderful display of my country's coastline. Looks like you had a great trip. And you were lucky with the weather. Lovely video 😊
Thx, weather was Fab. I have a few more videos to come from a road trip from Trondheim to Bergen.😉
@@michaelhortin That is great. I'll watch those. I'll subscribe so I get notified.

Nice description. Hope you Americans soon will adopt the SI-system in order to not misunderstand length and other units. The voyage is 2500 km.
Pleased you enjoyed it 👍
The numer one must know should be that you need to also consider their competitor Havila Kystruten -- brand new ships.
Funnily enough I have been thinking about maybe a winter trip with them in the next few months to compare…

@@bepsays The ships do you look something..
I prefer Havila Voyages since they go the same route but the ships are new an eco friendly.
I'm hoping to try one in the near future.
