Dear Bad Chad and Queen Jolien, I appreciate the incredible work you've done with the 50 Ford. I was touched by your question about the difference between amateur and professional, as it speaks to the heart of what you do - creating beautiful and marketable art. This car is the product of years of hard work, dedication, and a passion for your craft. The level of detail and precision on display is nothing short of awe-inspiring, and it's no surprise that it would fetch a high price on the market. But what sets you apart from other fabricators is your willingness to share your journey with us. Your documentation of the process, both the highs and the lows, is a testament to your honesty and authenticity as an artist. You invite us to participate in your world, to see the sweat and tears that go into making something extraordinary. So thank you. Thank you for inspiring those of us who dream of creating something great. Thank you for supporting each other and never giving up on your vision. And most of all, thank you for being you. Sending love and support from your fans in New Mexico. Keep moving and creating!
The difference is hired done or go it yourself . Anyone with resources and some without so much $$$ can throw money at it and claim it theirs . The difference is when you go it yourself and drive it on the road or to a show you have made it real !
I see Chad as a professional RUclipsr, he puts on a daily show for a price! There is nothing wrong with that. But frankly, my local Ford Dealer does better body and paint work. Chad’s work and direction seems to be a guide for amateurs doing their own work. I think if he was a professional, he would not be putting tarps on the floor and putting a little more money into his paint booth. Filters and fans would make his job a lot easier. He might even find painting cars a little more enjoyable!
Lol, bullshit, I work with so called pro dealership painter. With our crew or doing all the body work and using crazy cost material, a 50,000 dollar spray both 5,000 guns painter only sprays the paint ,is just 50% over lap evenly , and with the base coat and clear you can easily spray it, basic light buff done. Lol
20,000 dollar paint jobs and I seen the lose to paint job like Chad did on 50 Ford there all Chad has to do is wet sand and buff . And well will look like 30,000 paint job and win shows
A professional knows his or her trade in and out although you can always learn something new about your trade.. you Chad are a professional car builder painter. I painted my car 9 years ago and it has many flaws., but to me it looks great compared to the way it used to... i may repaint it one day .. im 60 and painted two cars in my youth.. so its been a while, but it's very Satisfying and a great sense of accomplishment doing it and a lot less money... you rock Chad !!! Your stuff looks very professional
Youre question is to explain the difference between professional and amature? Easy.. pro jobs look great with a magnifying glass. Amature looks good 20ft away. Also your budget makes a difference.
i've seen better paintjobs come out of home made paintbooths than bought ones ( im not talking about some tents or a booth in a shed somewhere i mean actual homemade built with downdraft or crossflow) so idk about that one but i do agree on the other ones.@@bigshow5173
Amateurs can create work that looks great, but under that might be some bad welding etc... Just because it looks great, even with a magnifying glass, does not mean it was done professionally.
@@joeblow5381how long has it been on the “Bugatti”? Going on 4-5 years now? That’s no excuse to be honest why that car isn’t finished. He told Jolene when they first got together he was going to build her that car. It’s taken so long the girl went out and had to buy herself a car.
@@ReedThomas71 Give it a rest,it takes money Skippy. When he is older he can come back and rap these project up if he chooses. Why do you even watch the show?
Professionals do the work for profit. Because they are paid for their competence, speed, and quality of work. The consumer decides the level of professionalism (cost) they desire for their expected outcome. The higher the expectancy the higher the cost. This usually equates to developing a "professional" reputation over time. Chad is a professional car modifier. If he had separate body work, final prep area, and a high-level spray booth I'm sure he could do a "Show Quality" paint jobs if he wanted. Should he paint the Bugatti? Maybe he should value Jolene enough to send that out. First of all the car deserves it. And Jolene deserves it even more for her unending patience in seeing it done.
Professional will have outstanding results to all who observe their workmanship including those in their own profession. It will be done to the highest of industry standards and should ensure normal expected service life from the task performed. You excel at all standards from creativity through to fabrication and final execution. Professionalism is evolved over time with acquired skills honed to a level that all problems (challenges) are simple because there is always a reasonable and ethical solution. Your level is outstanding but I gotta be honest with your painting facilities. A DUST FREE PAINT JOB is also part of professionalism!!! Your spray skills are outstanding. No matter how you look at it with all of the outstanding work you have done. Amazing shine means nothing with dust in it. You have what it takes to do dust free you just have to pay more attention to the minute details. You are everything that's good in the auto industry except for dust!! Nice job!!
Straight from the dictionary; What it means to be professional? Professionalism involves being reliable, setting your own high standards, and showing that you care about every aspect of your job. It's about being industrious and organized, and holding yourself accountable for your thoughts, words and actions. The meaning of Amateur is one who engages in a pursuit, study, science, or sport as a pastime rather than as a profession. Example: Chad and Jolene started off as "Amateur's" creating content on RUclips but are now making it their "Profession" regardless of the type and quality of their work. As far as I'm concerned, Chad does what he does to the best of his ability and he does some pretty amazing stuff, Jolene is not only amazing with what she does, but she's pretty too! Nuff Said! Thanks for all you guys do, including Doug and Nate! And now back to our regularly scheduled video😎

The real truth is, honest professionals don’t try for the cheapest possible way to do it. If something is supposed to be chrome that is what they do. Not polished or spray painted. They don’t jury-rig anything.
It's subjective. Some of the best car builders in the world don't work for anybody or get paid. They're not professional? It's all subjective. I like how you took a subtle jab at Chad, about painting the Bezels chrome instead of actually chroming them, without trying to make it obvious.
From a semantic point of view, a Professional gets paid for the work as an Amateur does not. Now from a quality point of view, an Amateur can very well produce a work that is far superior in quality than the work done by a professional…It’s just like everything else: when you pay someone to do something, you usually get “what you pay for”…hence, this is why some “professionals” charge more than others…😉Another way to look at it is “Time”: an Amateur has all the time he wants to perform his art, while a professional has very little time so it will be done under this condition: It can be done Right, Quickly or Cheap…but you can only get 2 out of these 3; so if it’s done Quickly and Cheap, it won’t be Right…and vice-versa.🤣
Everyone seems to equate professional with a level of competence. Nothing could be further from the truth. A professional is a person who is sufficiently proficient so as to garner a wage within their profession. Whereas an amature may possess skills that surpass many professionals they are still considered amature because they are not paid. You see this distinction in many aspects, sports being a good example. People have varying levels of skill at their profession and often their level of skill is reflected in their compensation but on its own is not a sole measure of skill or competence. As such assuming or expecting a certain level of craftsmanship, quality or care simply based on a person being a professional is a mistake.
The difference between amateurs and professionals is entirely based on their habits and mindset. Professionals have developed habits and routines that help them to stay at the top of their game.
That looks so nice Chad. Well worth the watch as those ideas come out of that head and unto the car. I love how you use what you have and don't just throw money everywhere.
lol lets have a close up of the paint and see all the dirt, zero wet sanding before rebuild, im glad it turned out to be the best work you ever done but far from Professional
Can you put ruber gasket underneath the hood ornament? I am just a amateur for sure vehicle stuff. I am a good painter and DRYWALLER in that field. I have a lot of knowledge.

I'm with you Chad, I can't wait to see it out in the sun. And the new exhaust tips look like they were made for this car. NIIICE!!!
A professional is one that has had a lot of practice with doing the same thing over and over again. You can be book learned but there is nothing like hands on experience. If you don't get your nuts and bolts correct no matter what the application, you have nothing. Now that is meant to be a pun. Anyone can talk a good game, but it is in the doing we succeed. That is why Blue-Collar workers have become the Professionals of today's work force. Speaking as one who has done it. Have a good weekend. PS Cars looking good.
The 1950 Ford Shoebox is looking great !!!! The best way to describe the word professional is a person who is highly recognized in their career for their hard work, ethics and knowledge in their chosen field of endeavor. . A professional will make a plan and work the plan to accomplish their objecives.
The question should really be that of standards. A professional is mainly when a person gets paid for his work, in many regards Chad is a professional in that respect, also with his many years of work experience, he is also a professional in custom car builds, in that respect. He is a builder of rolling design and art. I don't think any of his cars would last very long as "dailys", but that is not their purpose. Just as we see totally restored or modified cars that cost 100's of thousands of dollars to be "trailer queens" and never really driven. Chad's driving force is something different with his standards being cheap, fast, relatively easy, quick to build, with using a lot of what he has laying around. He wants and builds just cool looking cars. As far as those that think "professional" has to mean only top-quality work, they you are sadly mistaken, quality and professional are not interchangeable.
There was a time when the word professsional referred only to "the professions": law and medicine. Those were two careers whose members were largely allowed to police and regulate themselves, after long years of training and testing to become licensed professionals. The professions were also viewed as having a public service element, and to this day, lawyers are expected to do some of their work "pro bono publico": for the benefit of the public. In recent years, the term "professional" has been dumbed down until it is basically meaningless. Now people refer to themselves as "professionals" simply because they take themselves seriously, regardless of their career path or training. And in most corners of law and medicine, there is no longer any obligation to serve the public: most doctors and lawyers work purely for profit now.
Now we have “Professional Influencers” on social medias…and they take themselves very seriously…telling people, for example, who should we vote for or that it’s “ok” to have a man switching gender and competing against women in sports where he clearly has a physical advantage 🙄
i would like to see the interior with the main color of a cream off white accented with an orange color...difference between a professional is a person who is practiced at a craft so as to get satisfactory results repetitively and get paid and or accolades for their talents...nonprofessional is everyone else...Chad is a professional and has his own style and can put together a capable talented team and he teaches as well and not to be long winded here ...he inspires many, many people, I learned from him, and he has instilled confidence in my ability. he is a good mentor. I like Jolene as well...
A pro pays attention to the details and makes sure it’s flawless. A amateur goes only far enough to make it look good because they don’t have the patience or skills to do it correctly. As for this ford, I think your welding and fabrication skills are great! The vehicle looks very straight based on its reflections. I don’t believe you wet sanded and buffed it though. That process could be the game changer as to the quality of the work before paint and the quality of the paint job itself. I personally would have never painted it diarrhea brown…especially after chopping, and lowering it!
Love the style and work done to the car but not a fan of the color choice but to each their own. I agree with another comment that it needs a touch of a cream whether it be a pin strip or in the interior. P.S door yard isn't just a touch of Nova Scotia it's a touch of the Maritimes as the term is used in all 3 province's.
I've always heard that a professional does it for a living and an amateur does it for enjoyment. Professionals TEND to do things better because they have to please a customer.
When you put washers between the hood hinges and hood you negate the designed step in the hinge bolts that keep bolts tight while allowing for swiveling.... without loosing nut.
Absolutely awesome, I’d roll this car anytime anywhere and be proud. Good to be part of this journey, keeps the spirits high and happy to see these old rides being glorious again. Thanks guys
Professional and amateur imo is just skill levels and time invested every professional at one point was an amateur and those who wont admit that still aren't that professional, car looks nice, love the content👍👍
IT'S FRIDAY.. Rear bumper & tail pipes look Awesome ..HELLO BAD CHAD NATION.BIG HEAD 🐓in the 🏠..😎 MAKE A COMMENT & HIT THAT 👍LIKE BUTTON Enjoy today's SHOW.
A professional gets paid for the work they do ... their work is their "profession". It doesn't mean you have to be any good at what you do. There is a lot of really bad work done by "professionals".
How did brown end up being the choice color? I think the body work and customization is really cool but I'm not warming up to the color yet. In my opinion, the interior would look great in a beautiful creme with darker stitching. At least it would go well with the brown exterior.
After you pull the car outside would be a good time to unroll the green upholstery material inside the car to see how comparable the interior and exterior colors are.
The difference between amateur and professional is an amateur is a hobbyist or for example a musician who plays for him or herself, etc., once you are getting paid for playing your instrument you are considered a professional, Chad for example does what he does full time, not just for himself but to the benefit of people who watch his program, it is how he makes his living, he is considered a professional.
Professional is a word that can be a noun or an adjective. It can have a capital P or a small P. With a large P, it’s a Lady of the Night which includes a lot of amateurs. With a small P, it can be a tradesman who often overcharges for honest work. Mostly, it’s what a person does to put bread on the table and keep a roof overhead for when it rains.
Professionals are usually highly qualified individuals who have undergone a significant period of education and training. There are various diverse career paths you can enter as a professional and you can make a significant living in many of them. Understanding what a professional is and the types of professional careers available can be helpful when determining the best career path for you. In this article, we discuss the standards professionals adhere to and how professionals can act at work to help
Hi, Chad, Jolene, Douglas and Nathan ! Have you thought about Volvo 240/245 tailpipes to join the exhausts to the outlets on the bumper as they are an ' S ' shape. That build is absolutley dreamy Jolene the Color is spot on !

the exhaust tips look bang on fits like they were already there looking lovely .professional at the the level of knowledge and cars already custom built id say Hiltz Auto is professional .thanks as always

Is Dougless a Cop??
I am a professional cook.
Now we have “Professional Influencers” on social medias…and they take themselves very seriously…telling people, for example, who should we vote for or that it’s “ok” to have a man switching gender and competing against women in sports where he clearly has a physical advantage 🙄
A professional does his craft for a living.
A professional is loving what you do and being good at it!
i would like to see the interior with the main color of a cream off white accented with an orange color...difference between a professional is a person who is practiced at a craft so as to get satisfactory results repetitively and get paid and or accolades for their talents...nonprofessional is everyone else...Chad is a professional and has his own style and can put together a capable talented team and he teaches as well and not to be long winded here ...he inspires many, many people, I learned from him, and he has instilled confidence in my ability. he is a good mentor.
To quote Lou’s Armstrong “ if you have to ask, you’ll never know.”
Professional does it the right way even if it takes more time and work. An amateur will cut corners so it is done.
OMG,that's why he found washers to go over the shoulder of that bolt.
I can see why your being so careful with the new paint job. I see that it can take up 28 days for the paint to cure Love the rear bumper looks slick!😎
Try eagle never dull wadding polish on your chrome! I've used it on old rusty and pitted chrome and it's phenomenal!
Absolutely awesome, I’d roll this car anytime anywhere and be proud. Good to be part of this journey, keeps the spirits high and happy to see these old rides being glorious again.
Thanks guys
Great car, nice job Chad.
Will you be doing any pin striping or just leaving it all brown?
Cheers
That car looks great ,like the paintjob on it ❤ can't wait to see it all dressed up
Have a nice day !!!
Professional and amateur imo is just skill levels and time invested every professional at one point was an amateur and those who wont admit that still aren't that professional, car looks nice, love the content👍👍
The bumper looks great!
That's nice looking car, you're concept is definitely coming together. 👍👍
The exhaust tips look amazing!
You guys are a blast 💥 😂😂😂😂 rollout the red carpet
Hey Chad painting the upslde down U piece of chrome above the tail pipe outlets the same colour as the car might solve the chrome mismatch.
Looking good Chad, Looking good. Just remember to install one more fan in the paint booth.
The dryer doesn't shrink clothes the refrigerator does
IT'S FRIDAY.. Rear bumper & tail pipes look Awesome ..HELLO BAD CHAD NATION.BIG HEAD 🐓in the 🏠..😎 MAKE A COMMENT & HIT THAT 👍LIKE BUTTON Enjoy today's SHOW.
Everything is beautiful my concern is the big steering wheel it's odd and covers the wind shield
My ex wife drove by your place not that long ago and I wish iwas with her I love that you do and your work ❤❤❤
Looking great guys, I love the exhaust tips. It is going to be a great ride.
A pro is a man with A plan the tools and the time to get the job done!
A professional gets paid for the work they do ... their work is their "profession". It doesn't mean you have to be any good at what you do. There is a lot of really bad work done by "professionals".
Congratulations on 300k subscribers 🎉🍻👌🔥💯
If you do something for a living, it’s a profession, thus making that person a professional.
Fords looking Great, Cheers from AUSTRALIA
Chad that back bumper with the incorporated tail pipes is awsome
How did brown end up being the choice color? I think the body work and customization is really cool but I'm not warming up to the color yet. In my opinion, the interior would look great in a beautiful creme with darker stitching. At least it would go well with the brown exterior.
The true difference between a professional job and an amateur job is longevity.
Chad, you got a masterpiece with that 50 Ford custom 😊 ❤ ❕️
Hilarious discussion on 'professional' in the beginning. Love that kind of thing. Makes people look at things differently. Well done.
You really need a inside vehicle hoist, That would have went on way faster up in the air
A professional would have that. Amateurs do it the way they are doing things.
A professional would never put less than perfect chrome on a freshly finished paint job on a custom built ride.
That depends on what his customer wants.
Why not it's his own car it's not like he's charging someone to do a $150k custom

Hi, Chad, Jolene, Douglas and Nathan !
Have you thought about Volvo 240/245 tailpipes to join the exhausts to the outlets on the bumper as they are an ' S ' shape.
That build is absolutley dreamy Jolene the Color is spot on !
Most custom car builders would not go into depth revealing exactly how their car was built. Chad is providing an indepth view of what it takes to customize not just before and after pics
a good job is a good job love the colour sweet and smooth
the exhaust tips look bang on fits like they were already there looking lovely .professional at the the level of knowledge and cars already custom built id say Hiltz Auto is professional .thanks as always
Rear bumper looks awesome
Professional: less time, quality work
The tailpipe would look good if it was connected to the bottom of the bumper in the cut outs
Really? You really thought it wasn't get connected. He just cut the pipes off so he can put that bumper on with the exhaust tips. He will get to it....he even said it...
Looks really cool
Hey Team Hiltz, looks like you guys have nice weather it has been snowing last night and today in Southern Wisconsin which really sucks. I hope everything went well with getting the hood on since something happened.
Snow off and on all day here in Southwestern Ontario
Well I consider you an expert. I'm very happy to take instruction from you.
Nate doing g a good fabrication job too on the tunnel ! Doug cleans stuff up way better that I would, Jolen catches it all on film and Fina keeps tab on all of ya !
