So, many years ago, in Akron (Copley) Ohio, Mr. G Lawrence had a great drum shop. I used to come by the shop all the time (I couldn't get the "Good stuff" at the local Guitar Center) One day, he sees me trying to swing the ride as I sit in one of his masterfully tuned sets ...The teacher in him compells him to patiently teach me the right way to do it. Among the details, he said to me " ...listen to the wood of the stick..." Oooh, did I also tell you he is one of the best drumm tunners I've ever known. I watched people coming to the store, to have George tune their kits before a gig. Remember, this was before TuneBot ever existed...Believe it or not, that five minutes lesson changed my drumming life forever! Thank you George!!
I first saw George play when I was about 4 years old, and I can say with 100% certainty he's the reason I'm a drummer today. Now where do I send all these therapy bills?!? (J/K thanks George!)

I’ve known George for 40 years. Incredible drummer! Not many know this, but the first George’s Drum Shop was in Jackson, MS in the 80’s.
George you are world class.
I get to play with him, yall ! This was such a great interview ! Thank you, Memphis Drum Shop !

I'm not seeing any microphones in those camera angles, but that kit sounds great in the room....kudos to whoever is putting this thing together. :)
George is a good mentor and neighbor! But he is an even greater drummer
Got to mentor and influence Keith Carlock who said at 13 that he was bored of playing and learning EVERY RUSH SONG!!!!
George L. Uncle Rainbow. Dallas. 100 years ago
Cold blood were super crazy funky and Linda Pense could sing circles around Janis Joplin.
Lydia, not Linda.
Grest sound! How do you mic the kit?
One bass drum mic and two overheads
