It's wild that a single Crawler at 47:25 killed you by just having high evade and an immobilization ability. Like it wasn't even in an ominous dangerous lair or anything. It's like walking down the street and *peak* Mike Tyson is just waiting there to beat you down in 3 punches. I couldn't imagine playing this game with permadeath on and having it take you HOURS to realize your build wasn't ready to handle a single spider.
He didnt even bother to read up on the enemy after inspecting... It clearly states *very high danger* at the top of the info screen. Shows 60% physical resistance and 50% bleed resistance... Not great for his build. But -25% Crushing resistance, so those clubs he picked up earlier may have been useful here. Personally, if i'm just walkin and stumble across a a spider the size of a human, my first instinct isn't "Lets tangle with that one!" I'd exercise a little more caution...
Heya, just wanted to share a few (spoiler free) tips to get you started. You can use the caravan to travel pretty much anywhere. The character info screen is your best friend, especially the health tab, managing morale and sanity is super important since it can give you quite strong buffs/debuffs. Consumables like traps, potions, throwing nets, caltrops, food etc.. are great especially early on if you are melee, also quite cheap. Also check out the crafting tab, you can craft useful stuff pretty much anywhere without a crafting bench. Love your streams and vods, I'm super excited you continued the playthrough :D
The first time i played stoneshard i was a huge detractor, permadeath, no tutorial, just head crushing into wall, fishing without a pole, nonsensical difficulty......100hrs later though 😂 glad you're playing, this and Ostranauts has been some of the MOST rewarding experiences once I took my time and learned them.
This game... the save system needs a option, otherwise it's at-best a very niche game, people won't stomach losing so much progress. I think my current playthrough is screwed, I was never really given any quest for the brewery, just told to go there, and they were all k.o.s and I just killed them all...
I desperately need character customization in this. I don't like the presets. I'm guessing it'll be a long time until it gets here, but one it does i'm off to the races with Stoneshard. Hopefully mods go back up soon, so I can circumvent that issue in the meantime.
Yeah I tend to actually drag my caravan around with me now, feels quite good actually, setting up camp (and saving) right outside the dungeon and getting a good sleep before venturing in first thing makes way more sense than ever before.
I love the game and the dev's commitment to their vision, but Im sure the reviews for this game would go up by a lot if they implemented a save when you want system, maybe they could make it so it disables achievements as a compromise.
Eh. Disabling achievements isn't really a punishment. And every game I've ever seen that has something that disables them immediately has a mod that re-enables them.
Half the builds don't work, everyone uses mods or cheat engine to make it tolerable, and each update feels contradictory to the last. I can't stand it, but it's incredibly charming
I really wanted to like this game but honestly its a pain in the ass and not even in a fun way. The devs could add a few simple updates to make their game better but refuse to and thats why they are losing in the end, the game will continue to be at mixed which I'm sure turns alot of people away who dont want to waste money.

in this game you can't jump on enemies without studying it and assessing chances ^_^

If you shoot bunnies or wildlife, you need to add the Butchering skill to your skillbar to be able to butcher them. It doesn't show up automatically.
I really enjoyed you playing stoneshard, I hope you play it again.

I wanted so badly to love this game. The saving system is complete balls though. You can lose hours of progress because something random happens.
If you're going hours between saving, I'd say the problem lies with you, not the game.
Nothing is stopping you from backing up the save files. ;)
agreed
Now camps are more common. Not as bad. But it should still have a bed at the entrance of every dungeon, imo.

they could at least let us save in campfires as well
I love this game. Can we see more of this let's play of this game. ,😁🌽🍟
