Should I mid side eq for every track that I produce?
Hey Damian, I guess that would depend. For example if you like to use a lot of loops and samples, a lot of those loops and samples have low frequencies in their reverbs and delays, so you might want to use mid/side EQ to clean up the low frequencies from the sides, and then EQ the mids separately. Does that make a little more sense?
Well explained...
How do we mix all white noise, impacts and the elements..bcuz i feel those things are mudding up my mix
@@joeljoyce1756 Hey Joel, sorry I just saw this comment for some reason. You basically treat white noise as you would any other sound. You need to EQ out the frequencies you don't need and boost the ones that fit with your track and the other instruments. Same goes for all other effects, they need to be EQ'd and mixed to fit with the other sounds.
It's still so confusing to me. So basically Mid=Mono signal, Side=Stereo signal?
Yes exactly. Basically mid side EQ just allows you to EQ each part of those separately. The easiest example would be if you have a drum loop and it has reverb on it. The reverb is in the Side part of the signal. So if the loop sample sounds really muddy because of the reverb or you want to add your own reverb, you can EQ out most of the low end from the sides, without affecting the main sound of the drum loop.
Mono is usually the sum of the mid and side signals. but Mid in this case doesn't contain any of the side information and vice versa.
you forgot to turn off your autotune lmao
I forget nothing 😎
