I really appreciate having more "legit%"/"Casual%"/"Intended%" categories shown this year, or whatever else you want top call them Nothing against glitches and skips but I find speedruns that are closer to a casual experience much more interesting to watch myself And this run is an amazing watch
I feel this game is so criminally underrated. My sister and I LOVED this game growing up. They're all good tbh! Thanks to the runner and crew! Learned some stuff even though I've played it 50 million times! Cheers!
GDQ has always had great DKC runs, but this is a nice category change. Without the skips of any% and physics tricks like in DKC/2, a lot of this just comes down to really skilled platforming that you don't always see in the DKC series categories.
Wonderful run and great commentary! An added bonus at the end with the JHobz interview. I love all the GDQ folks but have a special spot for him! He is always wonderful in his interviews.
I still think when they say "damage boost" or "D boost," they mean invincibility frames. In this game, you're going through obstacles while invulnerable, but you're still moving at normal speed. In Super Metroid, for example, taking damage actually gives you a boost.

This, very much!
Me too. I want to see the game being played fast, but played, not skipped almost entirely because of glitches.
Awesome game and it's nice to see a runner that actually cares about this game and doesn't bash it every 5 seconds
There still is some bashing in this commentary, which is annoying. Don't like the game, don't run it. I love it myself.
wym bash ?

i love watching the donkey kong trilogy
Best trilogy for SNES? Best in all video games?
Hearing V0oid's voice made me unreasonably happy. Nice run!
this run was bananas
these games had some great soundtracks
this game has so many secrets on its overworld in 96 that was mindblowing! I remember it took me a lot of time for 103 % (without the cheats)

Unpopular opinion: DKC3 is the best out of the three.
I mean you can say it's your favorite, but you are objectively wrong ;^)
@@Swashbucklebuckle Oh, hush up. They already said it's their opinion. XD
This was very fluid and satisfying to watch
"Real difficult fight". Aces it.
What was that cut when putting the name of the save file?
The game automatically restarts after a certain time of being on the title screen, which just happened as I was about to start :)
Really like that color code.
What happened at 3:58?
Make sure to stay for the Interview at the end :-)
What's up with the Kong's colors? Dixie's hat looks more purple than pink, and Kiddy's pyjamas is greenish.
They used the color code before starting the game to change them.
That's what that COLOR cheat at the beginning does
Although I will probably regret this comment: Terranigmas soundtrack is better than DKC3s :>
