  • Ever wonder which Catholic Missal is the best? I'm reviewing all of the major missals (that I own) and showing you which might be the best bang for your buck. Though I don't think there's a "perfect" Missal, I think any of these purchases will be a great buy for anyone who's seriously interested in learning the Mass and growing in their faith. In this video I’m reviewing the following Missals: Fr. Lasance, Angelus Press, New Marian, Baronius Press, Fr. Stedman
    Fr. Lasance Missal - 1:45
    Angelus Press Missal - 9:05
    New Marian Missal - 17:04
    Baronius Press Missal - 25:51
    Fr. Stedman Missal - 35:23
    Blessed be God and blessed be His Holy Name.
    If you like this video, don't forget to like and subscribe and stay tuned for future videos regarding the faith. I hope all is well with you and your family and I thank God that I had the time to make a little video like this.

    I find that the best for me is the 1959 St Joseph Daily Missal, it has illustrations of each part of the mass so it’s very easy to follow along when I’m serving.

      It's a nice Missal; it has a lot of variations but unfortunately none of them have the Mass readings in Latin. Maybe I'll make a new video with that Missal included!

      @@elsantomatty I could be mistaken, but I believe there is a version of the St. Joseph Missal that has the Propers in both Latin and English.

    I am following Cardinal Burke with the Tridentine Latin Mass what missal would be appropriate?

    • @elsantomatty
      @elsantomatty  2 месяца назад

      That’s awesome. Cardinal Burke says the 1962 Missal so if you want to follow him 100% you’ll need to get either the Angelus Press or Baronius Press Missal. But remember, any Missal you choose would be a good fit if you’re only thinking about Sunday Mass 👍🏻 Good luck

    Do you have any recommendations for 1 year lectionary English Only missals?

    • @elsantomatty
      @elsantomatty  13 дней назад

      Saint Joseph’s missal (not in the video) comes in many iterations. The most common English-only is the Continuous Missal. It’s a thicker book, starts with the Mass with the readings included, when the Mass finishes the following pages will repeat. Mass, readings, everything. The Fr. Stedman Missal has many English-only iterations as well but you can only buy them second-hand/used. Also, the Fr. Lasance Missal has a smaller version that is English-only as well. Hope that helps!

      @@99goosebumps16 There are a few options, it really depends on what you're looking for. Here's a link for some eBay listings that'll be English only; please be mindful of which translation you're purchasing and make sure to pay attention to the descriptions & images posted. Good luck!

    37:58 I think you mispoke, "this missal is only for low mass" but it's for Sundays, so you meant it's only for high mass

    • @elsantomatty
      @elsantomatty  3 месяца назад

      No, I didn’t misspeak. The Traditional Latin Mass has multiple ways of celebrating (Low Mass, High Mass (Missa Cantata) and Solemn High Mass). The Low Mass does not have the Asperges Me prayers or holy water in the beginning and it does not have the incense prayers to St. Michael the Archangel. However, the Low Mass DOES require the end prayers (Ave Maria, Salve Regina, prayer for the church, St. Michael’s prayer, and Most Sacred Heart of Jesus prayer) after the Last Gospel. Let me know if you have other questions! 👍🏻

      @@elsantomatty I've recently started attending the TLM on sundays, I've gone to the novus ordo my entire life. I wanted to get a missal for sundays only, figured the stedman would be good. But as I understand it, high mass is typically celebrated sundays, so the stedman would be unhelpful then...

    • @elsantomatty
      @elsantomatty  3 месяца назад

      @@alvaradoac21 It really depends on the Church that you're going to. Some SMALLER churches that celebrate the TLM on Sundays will only celebrate the Low Mass because it only requires 1 priest for the sacrifice. If your church is larger and has multiple priest celebrating, they'll probably do the High Mass more often. The Stedman Missal is a great option, even though it's only for Low Mass, but in your case I'd recommend the New Marian Missal. Try to see if you can get it 2nd hand, if not, get a brand new reissue.
