    Another excellent video, JR! I think if you add in the fact that until the Panama Canal was built, Galveston played a key role in travel and shipping goods to the southwest, especially southern California via the railway system. No wonder Galveston was called "The Wall Street of the West!"

    Great video, J.R.! I guess since at that time the waterfront was just beyond the Hendley Building at 20th Street, about 700 feet of where Kuhn's wharf stood is inland today due to infill.

    Good, but you didn't finish the story about the battle of Galveston. Perhaps you have another video about this? Also, when/why was Avenue B renamed the Strand?
