    Great video, J.R.! I recently saw a RUclips video concerning the different directors of The Wizard of Oz. Of all of them, the creator of the video noted that he felt that King Vidor was the best of the directors in that he delved more into the individual characters and their emotions more than the other directors who more just focused on just the overall story.

    I was not aware he directed Dorothy's storm scene, but as you point out, he was a natural choice. I have always admired his unsentimental depiction of war in The Big Parade. We islanders should take every opportunity to celebrate his legacy. THANKS!

    I recently watched a screening of Vidor's last silent film (called "Show People") and it was actually a very funny slapstick starring Marion Davies, who was married to William Randolph Hearst. Glad this video was recommended, this is great stuff!
