    Due to requests this is a re-upload of original video with changes to audio tracks as youtube made it not available on mobile devices / tablets due to copyright. Hopefully this is now available to everyone :)
    Description:
    A return to Birdland at Bourton-on-the-Water UK to remove two poplar trees, one Lawson Cypress and an Ash tree from water locked land where cranes and heavy machinery can't get access due to weak bridges on site. The trees were dismantled and removed by 3D speedlining technique incorporating an English reeve by a crew of three. All debris and timber removed. For anyone interested, the heaviest lift by this system over the river was 958kgs (2112lbs).

    Blown away, so inspiration and creative, particularly reading your comment about only a 3 man crew. Really looking forward to reading more about this system in the links provided and seeing if we can put it to good use somewhere. Thanks for putting this out there.

    Such a great job you guys have done there, also for all the work gone into producing the video! I just had a 3 day job this week using the Keanu trolley, we moved around 15 ton of wood from trees that had fallen on a house. I just learnt a few new tricks from you for the next time the trolley comes out! Cheers

      Thanks James! Glad you enjoyed it and happy to hear the Keanu is earning it's keep with you. Also check out the dmm offya and dmm deviant Video on my channel if you have time and haven't already. There's a few tips and tricks probably not shown in the videos, feel free to drop me a message and I can share them. All the best

      @@Arboristtreeworkvideos thanks mate, ill be watching all your videos! One question i have so far is - are you still running your impact block/rope sling to swivel hook system? Interesting configuration but worked real well. I was planning to use the Gyro pulley but im not sure it will last the trashing, especially with hard connectors. What do you reckon? Cheers

      @@KilpatrickBaumpflege hey James, it depends on the job really, the main function of the heavy gunnebo Johnson hook is to act as a counterbalance against all the horizontal rope in the reeving line. Otherwise the block will get pinned in the trolley and you won't be able to lower it. I like the gunnebo swivels as on really long setups where there is more horizontal rope in the system I can stack two together for even more counterbalance. Running a super lightweight dyneema line on the reeving line naturally helps with this too. All this can be calculated at the planning stage, for example:
      The mass of the Gunnebo Johnson SKLI 16-8 swivel hook block plus DMM impact block is
      11Kgs. The dry mass of my chosen reeving line (Teufelberger Arborwinch) is 98grams per
      meter. The 11Kgs mass is only counteracting half its mass due to 2:1 so it is counteracting
      5.5kgs. This is equal to the mass of around 56 meters of Arborwinch (5500g/98g = 56.12).
      This gives us a theoretical balance point between the block and the reeving line when it is at
      the top of the reeve in the carriage. For the reeve to work efficiently and the block to return
      from carriage the distance needs to be shorter than 56 meters for an 11kg hook block to
      work. Due to friction and possible water absorption of the reeving line if used in wet
      conditions the distance needs to be significantly shorter. From experience I have found that a
      distance of around 35/40 meters works well with 11kg hook block. This allows for a balance
      difference in favour of the block of 2.058kgs/ 1.568kgs. That is the leeway for if the rope
      becomes wet or you get a twist in the reeve and the block has to battle friction. If a heavier
      rope is used for the reeve then a greater mass will be required for the same distance. Hope that answers your question! With the Keanu if I need lightweight setup I will just use gyro but have a piece of rope to pull it back down.

    Most amazing rigging video I have seen! This was so cool! Where can I find more info on the system used? Is it the "Offya Trolley" from DMM? How is the procedure for lifting the load is there any winch involved on pulling on the control rope?

    • @Arboristtreeworkvideos
      @Arboristtreeworkvideos  6 лет назад +2

      Hi Pat, thanks for the kind comment. This was one of the more developed prototypes of the "offya trolley" designed and developed in a close cooperation between myself, Treemagineers and DMM. Here is some information on the latest version: dmmprofessional.com/documents/offya-and-deviant.pdf
      And here is a link to an annotated photo showing the setup for the first part of the job:
      facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10154814852920286&l=b53b032235
      The loads were lifted by my powered rigging device which was on the tree on the chipper side of the river. It would also work the same on the island tree too but I set it up this way round so the only two guys on the ground were both on the same side to process the debris quickly together. There were only three of us on site so I hauled the trolley back from within the tree and also was controlling the horizontal movement of the trolley.

      Seems like a very cool piece of equipment for sure! More info on possible release date? Will it cost a small fortune?
      Can you explain more about the difference of the Main line and the load line? And is the guyline just attached to the ground and to each tree or also running through the offya?
      What powered rigging device is that?

    • @mitchelsallseason9359

      so basically a grcs / stein or something of the like to lift loads and then this device is basically a controlled speedline ? im assuming the special system takes an increased load versus a standard controlled speedline rigging plate with all the pulleys and blocks and what have you. I REALLY like this system! I already own G.R.C.S and have found many uses for it. I have the 1/2 " drill adapter to lift loads quickly so this could be a very cool new tool to add to my "bag of tricks" ! very nice job ! you just earned yourself a sub from me ! I really enjoyed this video !

    Please could you tell me where you got the plastic protective part for the keanu? Thanks!

    • @Arboristtreeworkvideos
      @Arboristtreeworkvideos  11 месяцев назад

      Unfortunately there isn't a protective part for the keanu, the device in the video is a prototype of the big brother of the keanu. It is much bigger and compatible with 16mm ropes.
