Death rock existed before " Goth ". Goth was the polite thing to say when you were trying to explain you weren't into the boring old alternative music, but you didn't dare to say Death rock , because you didn't want to get kicked out of the phucin party & they wouldn't give you drugs anymore.
I think death rock evolved to most of the genres. After Punk, then came death rock and post punk. And then came gothic rock, darkwave, etherealwave, cold wave, minimal
@@BrycifurTheDevil when i was in college station/bryan texas, I started my own dj nights and also was a featured dj on Texas A&M's college radio 🙏🏼 start your own scene it was so lonely there. There are nearby cities in VA that I KNOW to goth nights and have goth/punk/synth shows/bands. Its worth the drive to have a night of fun!

I think he meant goth rock which isn't as close to punk as deathrock is. Personally I'd still consider most of these songs deathrock.
