    Keep up the good tests! Definitely think it’s not ugly. I’m not sure where that’s coming from. Airplanes? Hate ‘em. So aerodynamic.

      Thats what a mic picks up and amplifies - most likely its not notable if you are in the car yourself

    With this and the EQS it’s all about aerodynamics. People who knocked the looks are discounting the fact that the impressive range is achieved in a large part to the aerodynamics. And a big battery.

      @@Chukonu5 does it? I have seen Lucid on the road now and it looks weird, not very cohesive in design. The EQE on the other hand is way higher up, you have a much better seating position if you ask my wife and it starts to look better for my taste.
      I know you cannot argue about taste.

    The EQE skates lightly through the air AND it looks WAY BETTER than a Prius, the standard bearer of ugly. Astounding interior, very good range. Affordable ??

    You can select options on the range screen…sacrifice some comfort and actually hypermile!! I did that in an EQS and got 400 miles driving mostly highway.

    This does not have the AMG Styling Package, neither exterior or interior, it only has AMG wheels

    Constant clunking noise is so annoying. How do other cars fare in that road? Could the weight of the battery on the suspension be causing that noise? Really unacceptable at $80k+.

    Thanks so much for sharing and all your time and effort you guys put into these videos. I am confused how the SUV version the 500 that you tested which is the same size battery and 4-wheel-drive. how did the sedan get less? The SUV got 304 miles ???

    13:45 A passing truck - I guess they are not electronically limited to 90 kmph (55ish? MPH).
    PS: I remember mr. Munroe criticizing the S Class headrest pillow, he clearly does not know how comfortable they are.

      Lord no !.. especially if there are owner operator which buys the own trucks they usually can go highway speeds there are some truck companies that do put governors on their trucks but they're after then 90 kmp 😂.... If trucks here went that slow on the open highway it would be terrible for traffic the truckers and other people that's just too slow

      @@jermainec2462 Being in Europe, that sounds cool and maybe scarry :)) Here, they are speed-limited; busses are limited to 100 kmph (62 mph).

      The truck speed limit in Colorado on rural freeways is 120 kph (75 mph). In Wyoming, rural speed limit for trucks is 128 kph (80 mph) In the western states, cars and trucks can usually go 10 kph over the speed limit before they are ticketed.

      @@jermainec2462 We have much more densly populated countries with smaller roads, it would not be safe here for a 40-ton-truck to drive that fast. And we also have very strict rules about how many hours a driver can drive (max 9 hours per day (normally 4 hours x 2 + some margins to find parking, 45 minutes of rest between those 4 hours), 2 days completely off-driving after 5 days of work).

      Then it would be less aero which is the thing ... or go to the SUV version. I have seen it on the road now and its quite impressive.

    This is Michael. Great range test. Thank you.
    As for looks, it's way better than the current C and S Series which look like an angry shark and the hood/light lines don't line up which make you feel depressed every time you get in the car. Notice the EQE harmonious flow of the grill into the lights because the grill goes upwards into a smile instead of downwards into a frown.
    These wheels are ugly and I don't believe this had AMG styling except for the wheels.
    The interior of the car is one of the best interiors of any car, especially EVs and blows Tesla clean out of the water. You've got your digital information readily available and enough tactile controls to change things without taking your eyes off the road or having to do double Tap on the screen to get somewhere. And don't talk to me about using voice control because I have a Tesla Model 3 and the voice control stinks, and so does that of the Mercedes.

    So that hideous thumping buffetting all the time was the road? I'd go nuts if I had to endure that all the time. Or was that the camera audio being overly sensitive and you don't notice it as much as a human?

    The piano black in my Polestar came pre scratched. Using micro fiber cloth to try and keep it clean scratched it more. I hate piano black.
    That said, Volkswagen did something special with the piano black in the wife's ID.4 and it never scratches.

    Great range, must be one of the best you can get! In UK I believe this comes in at around £75k… too pricey for me, but that is the kind of capacity I’m targeting in the next few years.

      Do you like SUV´s? You might be one of the rare drivers for whom a SUV would makes sense - the EQS- SUV or the upcoming EQE would be then more suitable.

      I just bought one it does not sit low for a car, it actually sits similar to the Chrysler 300S I traded in. My wife has the 2022 C-Class and that sits much lower.

    The important part of the AMG styling is the pinstripe grille on the EQS. I guess MB thinks EQE buyers are too poor to merit such.

      The pinstripe grille is only on the AMG versions not on the AMG style versions like this one. It‘s the same in the EQS.

    Its wierd that the motors dont disengage they sure do on the 580. Sorry to disagree but it looks spectacular. Not a superfan of those particular rims but, of course, there are multiple choices. The range is ok but the additional 50 plus of the S version is essential in my area, particularly in winter.

      @@eduardoforneck3335 The usable and the used and all the other figures people find out are very depending on the day and the way you measure it. But yes it seems to do 305 miles with 82kWh gross capacity.
      Not bad for a smaller car.

    Looking at capacitive touch piano black when you said the materials are more premium than lucid. Hmmm. Never been impressed with modern Mercedes interiors. Very gaudy and creaky.

    311 WH/Mile is NOT efficient!! My 2022 Tesla Model S is averaging 266 WH/Mile so far over 3000+ miles in mostly highway driving with 20% city driving

      @@ewicky Have you ever heard of one pedal driving? If you lift your foot off the accelerator the car slows down obviously. The (shift) pedals can be used to change the regen mode. Really practical for city driving and or traffic.

      @@ottovonwolf7144 Yes I have heard of one-pedal driving. And I'm familiar with regenerative braking. I don't see how paddle shifters are needed to accomplish either. If you need more braking you push the brake pedal, which is what my previous comment mentioned. Why someone would need paddle (not pedal) shifters to accomplish that, I cannot understand.

      ​@@ewicky it’s not necessary at all. But they do have a function and for one pedal driving (where you don’t push your break pedal actually) it is nice. It’s nice to play around with it and adds to the experience that’s all. If you put your foot down onto the break it still uses regen first and then the friction breaks. It’s up to you what you want to use.

      Well the Teslas and Porsche are as slippery without being eggy. But it's not a bad eggy anyway -- nothing like, for instance, the 90s Taurus.

      @@concinnus The Model S is around 0.24 - not quite so slippery. The Taycan is 0.22. So the "eggy" shape (at least in this case) seems to have a slight advantage.

      Current EQC is not efficient and has low peak charge.

      I would say that this AVA platform can’t go down to EQC sedan size, so we will have to wait to 25-26 for Mercedes to come with a smaller platform for the EQC and smaller.
      On the other side Merc has currently a slightly naming chaos, the EQC is currently an SUV too big for a C-Class SUV. The EQB and EQA are also kind of SUV/ Crosovers, so if they want to have a consistent naming convention, they will have to rename this models. 🤷‍♂️

    I don’t think it looks as good as my E-series ice convertible, but it’s not bad. It’s a shame Mercedes went backwards in styling. Can you change analog binnacle display to digital?
    It’s a shame the screens look like bolt-on instead of integrated into dashboard. At this price point, range should be closer to 350 miles. Light colored steering wheel looks much better than a mundane black wheel.

    No electric car is worth their ridiculous unfair high prices.
    No there not enough electricity in our USA to power and charge electric cars.
    California now does not have enough electricity supply charging the many numbers of electric cars and this horrible state now has blackout where they forbid charging.
    Our world is also running out of materials to make the batteries that is needed so we are now damaging and devastating our earth.
    When the time comes to sell or trade-in an electric cars the poor owners are going to get a huge surprise for the depreciation of their electric cars because the cost of replacing the batteries is super expensive, about $20,000.00.
    Electric cars owners are going to get a very huge unpleasant and ugly shock.
    Be smart and AVOID buying any worthless electric car.

      If you own one then wait the pain you will have when it is time to sell or trade in your electric car...you will be crying for the ridiculous low value of all electric cars due to the very high cost of battery replacement.
