Hey everyone! After spending 14 full days in Istanbul (not counting day of arrival and departure) I just arrived at JFK. I had no troubles getting through. The lady at customs was very friendly. She just checked the dates I spent outside Germany, my negative test result and that was it. My plane was packed and I managed to get to customs pretty much in front of the bulk. Maybe she just wanted to get things over with. But now I’m here, waiting at another gate to fly to Boston. This method works.

Question I may be travelling to the US for 80/85 days so would I be better of booking my flight from croatia to US whilst im out in croatia and apply for an esta then (whilst In Croatia) or would I need to book flight from croatia to US here in the UK before leaving for Croatia and apply for esta in the UK. I guess my concern is when is an esta valid from as I don't want to apply for it whilst here in UK and have the 2 weeks stay in Croatia factored in the length of stay in USA. Would i be ok to book a single flight to Croatia (as im not sure of my return date) And same applies for Croatia to US or would It be safer to book a return date when booking a flight to the US in this instant (ie less hassle interns of entry to US) and extend flights whilst in the US if i need to?
Hello i would recommend applying for an esta early since sometimes there can be delays but its up to you. i would also recommend booking a return flight, since the border can be quite strict and might think you plan to stay without a flight home. those are just my recommendations though.
@@AutopilotAviation hi is there any specific way I can book a flight to the usa from Croatia that stops in either turkey or qatar I only seem to be finding flights that stop in Frankfurt and Washington dulles As far as I know most of EU is banned from travelling to the USA right ? Hi just wondering what the updated situation is to transit to the US via a different country. As far as i know now turkey is on the red list. I'm hoping to travel for medical treatment (though previously Visa was rejected in 2020) for at least 6/7 weeks. Should i need to quarantine could be another week/2 depending on the US quarantine rules. Any advice would be massively appreciated. Thanks
Hello, this method currently still works. I am working on uploading an update today but it will only be brief. Turkey is still possible but not recommended. In my opinion the best option is Croatia with a stop in qatar. Or even Serbia. i Hope this helps. All the best!
@@AutopilotAviation Ok so it will be from croatia to qatar and then qatar to US. How about iceland as its on the green list. Im in 2 minds about transitting from a diff country just incase the US open their borders (i believe june 21) but then watched a video suggesting that could only be for vaccinated citizens? Is this true 🤷♀️ So then I think best to try the loop hole instead I also need more info if poss but best to give you brief details so you can best advise accordingly I applied for a B-2 visa in 2020 march. Allthougj i provided all relevant paperwork and more - proof from clinic i was to have treatment in, including bank statements showing i could afford treatment and stay and medical proof etc my medical visa was rejected. Apparently on the basis that i didnt show proof of commitment to return to the UK as i wasn't working/studying due to ill health and so they were under the impression i was going to take up residency in the US once there (with the money i showed was to cover treatment and stay costs). Being so by the book backfired Im now able to reapply for visa B-2 or fly via esta but on esta the question about previous visa being rejected arises hence my case may taken over by homeland security to deal with maybe once we arrive...thus could also be rejected My length of stay is quite long 5 weeks for treatment and 1/2 weeks further should i need to quarantine. Dont know if length of stay affects the chances of being approved entry to the US thus i was wondering if i should/could book 2 weeks flight return to the UK and then extend our stay whilst out there in US should we need to. Any advice/idea as whether this is possible. Would greatly appreciate any advice

There are certain acceptations for entry so check those out and see if you qualify. Hey! Have you heard anything about updates on the travel ban? I follow it daily and going crazy about it haha.. right now we are looking into spending 2 weeks in Croatia before our US trip as we are unsure whether the ban would be lifted by mid August. Asking as an EU citizen, when entering Croatia by car, they would only check my ID and no registration of my travel would take place. Is showing the booking of my hotel enough to prove that I was in Croatia for 14 days? What if I stay with relatives and I don’t have any proof that I spent 14 days in a non banned country?
@@nikoletttiebax-simon8133 hello unfortunately there i no update on when the ban will be lifted. and as for entering croatia im not sure on that one. id just say keep as many receipts as possible to prove that you actually stayed there for 14 days. i would suggest speaking with the US embassy to see what they recommend. hope this helps in some way.
hello there is no information out there on this at all. its all a waiting game. we can only hope that Biden changes things at some point in the new year. at the moment, no one knows when this will change, but it does look like this will continue into the new year unfortunately.
Quick question .... how do the American authorities know whether or not you actually spent 14 days in Croatia? (specifically asking for EU citizens because passports are not stamped for them)
It's normally on your passport, will show a stamp and they will track it from there. Also you can show proof from hotel you stay in. But I wouldn't bother right now as many countries are banning UK because of a new COVID variant. Turkey has already banned UK travel and many other EU countries.
hello, when you enter a new country, i believe your passport is scanned/info is entered manually, so whether you get a stamp or not when it is scanned in america they can see all your recent info.
I don't know if you still reply, but this is exactly what I'm going to do pretty soon. My girl is from the US and I been researching how to get there. I'm also from the UK, I found out I can go either Turkey or Croatia and they ain't on the list. I spoke to the US embassy and they said it should work. Also should I book tickets through a airline? Like easyjet or something? My first time flying alone and I'm not sure if they do a bundle or something and just do the whole thing for you. Or do they not do stuff like that? And you have to get tickets separately and book the hotel on your own? I guess coming back would also be easy? So just a flight back from US to UK. Thank you for posting this video as it's hard to find out stuff like this online.
hello if you are doing turkey i suggest you do Turkish airlines. just put in Istanbul to NYC and it should offer a direct flight or do the same with Qatar and it will put a stopover in for you in Doha as explained in the video. Croatia is the same but you will definitely have a stop so just make sure its somewhere not on the ban like Doha or Istanbul. getting to turkey or Croatia is easy just book with like easyjet or something then stay there for 14 days. some companies do offer packages and you can book that as well but most of the time its cheaper to book separately. it is also cheaper to book a return flight if you know when you are coming back but normally that is a return to the country you started in so croatia or turkey. i hope this helps
@@AutopilotAviation Yeah it helps a lot thank you so much. I'm going to more likely go to Turkey, its easier to get a direct flight from there to the US. Most flights from Croatia seem like they stop in Holland and Germany. Also your right, it is better to book separately. A question for Autopilot, as we are leaving the EU end of this month. I've read that we may be getting barred from travelling to countries within the EU cuz of the virus. I've read that Turkey isn't part of the EU, so would this make a difference travelling to Turkey and then to US? i havent heard anything about this but it wouldnt surprise me. i will look into it but it seems a lot of countries are blocking other countries with high cases. as for the visa im pretty sure so long as your not staying for longer than 90 days you are fine with just a british passport. stay up to date with the gov website tho in case anything changes. i think im going to try and make another video on this next week sometime

Well the USA still have a ban stating you cannot enter if you have been in the schengen zone of europe or UK within the last 14 days. When travel is back up within thr UK, best thing to do is get a vaccine done. Get a COVID test done showing you are negative from the virus and quaranting in another country for 14 days that is not banned by the US before going to US. Then after those 14 days when u travel to the US, just show all these forms that you had a vaccine, you are negative from COVID and you have been quarantining in a country that is not banned by the US for 14 days. Hopefully after this the US border control should let you in as you have legally followed the rules. That's the best way around it.

I've read that it's possible to go to the US for medical reasons but anyone doing this will need a letter from their UK Doctor say that the treatment they need is not available in the UK, I don't know if I would be allowed to go there for dentistry work or whether my dentist could wright a letter saying that the Holistic dentistry I need is not available in the UK, I would not think that my dentist will ring all the Holistic dentists in the UK to see if there is one that will do all the things I want done. As you said you have read on the Internet that people have been let in to see friends, so perhaps I might be allowed in without a letter. It might be worth giving it a go. As you said in one of your replys that you are in Germany, of the four Holistic Dentists I would want to see three of them are in America and one of them is in Germany in Bavaria Titling who is the only dentist in Germany that does what is called the SMART technique when removing amalgum fillings, this is just one of the things they do. I hope everything goes well for you on your trip back to America. Best of luck.

Just fly to Mexico that’s quickest , how do they know that your being honest about not being in the restricted countries in the last 14 days ? Couldn’t you just lie and just enter via Mexico same day or day after ?
Great video, thank you. Don't you need a good reason to enter America, like for instance a letter from your Doctor saying that the treatment that you might need in not available in your Country, and another letter from the Doctor your planning to see in America saying they will treat you, I hope this is wrong because I am desperate to get to America. I've just double checked and its said you need a reasonable excuse to travel, I would have thought that it should say a reasonable reason not excuse.
i believe you need a good excuse to leave the UK, but so long as you have been out of a banned country for 2 weeks america doesnt seem to be bothered on your excuse

Question
I may be travelling to the US for 80/85 days so would I be better of booking my flight from croatia to US whilst im out in croatia and apply for an esta then (whilst In Croatia) or would I need to book flight from croatia to US here in the UK before leaving for Croatia and apply for esta in the UK. I guess my concern is when is an esta valid from as I don't want to apply for it whilst here in UK and have the 2 weeks stay in Croatia factored in the length of stay in USA.
Would i be ok to book a single flight to Croatia (as im not sure of my return date)
And same applies for Croatia to US or would It be safer to book a return date when booking a flight to the US in this instant (ie less hassle interns of entry to US) and extend flights whilst in the US if i need to?
Hello i would recommend applying for an esta early since sometimes there can be delays but its up to you. i would also recommend booking a return flight, since the border can be quite strict and might think you plan to stay without a flight home. those are just my recommendations though.

Is this true 🤷♀️
So then I think best to try the loop hole instead

I applied for a B-2 visa in 2020 march. Being so by the book backfired
Im now able to reapply for visa B-2 or fly via esta but on esta the question about previous visa being rejected arises hence my case may taken over by homeland security to deal with maybe once we arrive...thus could also be rejected
My length of stay is quite long 5 weeks for treatment and 1/2 weeks further should i need to quarantine. Dont know if length of stay affects the chances of being approved entry to the US thus i was wondering if i should/could book 2 weeks flight return to the UK and then extend our stay whilst out there in US should we need to. Any advice/idea as whether this is possible.
Would greatly appreciate any advice

Hi! is there any information available with regards to the end of the travel ban? Will Europeans be able to travel to the US after new year?
hello there is no information out there on this at all. its all a waiting game. we can only hope that Biden changes things at some point in the new year. at the moment, no one knows when this will change, but it does look like this will continue into the new year unfortunately.
Quick question .... how do the American authorities know whether or not you actually spent 14 days in Croatia? (specifically asking for EU citizens because passports are not stamped for them)
A booking conformation of your hotel.
Your previous boarding card from your starting country.
My passport has also been stamped when entering turkey.
Maybe I will try and find a package from here to Turkey, but I'm staying in US for atleast a month so might as well book return separately.
@@AutopilotAviation Just wanted to ask another thing, which card you normally use abroad? I ordered this card called a Caxton Fx and they told me it's like linked to Mastercard. A question for Autopilot, as we are leaving the EU end of this month. I've read that we may be getting barred from travelling to countries within the EU cuz of the virus. I've read that Turkey isn't part of the EU, so would this make a difference travelling to Turkey and then to US? I'm hoping it doesn't effect that if the borders to the US ain't still open in January. Also if I go to Turkey do I need a travel visa? Or can I get in with just a passport?
i havent heard anything about this but it wouldnt surprise me. i will look into it but it seems a lot of countries are blocking other countries with high cases. as for the visa im pretty sure so long as your not staying for longer than 90 days you are fine with just a british passport. stay up to date with the gov website tho in case anything changes. i think im going to try and make another video on this next week sometime
@@AutopilotAviation Yeah it was on BBC news that what I said could happen, they said they may try and strike a deal with some countries so we ain't banned from going there. Yeah I always keep checking it, that be great if you make another video :) nobody else really makes a video on the subject.

Hi guys I have just finished my trip to Croatia and then to the US I traveled to Croatia on 28th of September and then from there to Chicago and then transfer to Connecticut on the 19th . The only reason it was more then 14 days was because of flight availabilities . I have an Irish passport and I traveled to the US via Doha . Wanted to thank the RUclipsr for the advise you’ve helped me big time
This method worked
Thank you for sharing your story i am glad i could be of help!
Hi, I wanted to ask if this works for transfer flights in the US for example, after staying in Turkey for 15 days you could fly to San Francisco then straight on to Hawaii?
i believe so but i would check with the embassy just in case.
Hello, I have a National Interest Exemption(which allows me to fly straight to the US from the UK) and I'm flying from Heathrow to Dallas and then onto Colorado in December. I think I'm right in saying that I don't have to self isolate for 14 days when I reach the US as I'm travelling for medical needs and there isn't a mandatory quarantine upon arrival? Do you have any info on this? Thanks
Hi Ben, how did you qualify for the NIE? And on which visa?
@@hichaaamaski1665 I am travelling for medical reasons and will be paying a considerable amount into the US economy. I got it by applying for an ESTA first.
hello i am really not sure on that. quarantine rules are enforced by states, so some states you do not have to quarantine anyway
Hi ben how did that work. As i too need to travel for treatment and although i provided all relevant paperwork - proof from clinic i was to have treatment in, including bank statements showing i could afford treatment and stay and medical proof etc.. my medical visa ( visa b-2) was rejected, apparently on the basis that i didnt show proof of commitment to return to here in the UK as i wasn't working/studying due to ill health and so they were under the impression i was going to take up residency in the US once there (with the money i showed was to cover treatment and stay costs). Being so by the book backfired
Im now able to reapply or fly via esta but on esta the question about previous visa being rejected arrises and so was advised i COULD be rejected upon arrival for that basis or case may go over to homeland security to deal with maybe once we arrive...
Ontop of all this im from the UK and trying to find a way to transit to the US via a diff country. Confused! 😣
@@shamsaaraf3816 hi there, I managed to travel on an Esta and with a native interest exemption and didn't have to quarantine on arrival. Sorry to hear about your visa not being approved hopefully the esta will come through!

Hi I will soon be travelling from Spain to Guyana, however I have a transit in Miami. Do you know if I will be allowed in the USA for this transit ?

Hi!! I have been searching for a helpful video for my situation all week long and I am so happy I found yours!! I am trying to get into the US from The Netherlands on a J1 visa. I was wondering if the travel ban situation changed for Turkey and Croatia. Do you know something about this?
as far as i am aware, nothing has changed.
Does this way really work? Or as soon as you get to home land security they send you back with the next flight? How many people did it and was it successful in entering with a Schengen passport?
Nope this really does work. I know of at least 3 people who have done this and there is definitely more who I do not know about. I stumbled upon a group on Facebook the other day called Love is Not Tourism or something, anyway the group is basically for those who have lovers in america and they are in one of the banned countries. There is quite a few people on there who have done this successfully too.
Yeah i have a friend who has done this twice

Great video. Please can you help me? I want to fly to NYC from Gatwick. Would it be easier and cheaper to fly to Croatia instead of Turkey and then straight on to NYC?
honestly i dont know. it varies by date and how you want to do it. your best bet is to price them both out
Thanks so much for your reply. I also forgot to ask what’s the procedure when flying back to Gatwick? Can I fly straight back from NYC or would I have to spend another 14 days in Croatia first?
@@shawezkhan2674 you should be able to fly back to London directly. Remember the only reason for the stop in Croatia is because the USA don’t want anyone that’s been in the UK in the last 14 days flying over
@@BiigMinnie Thank you so much. I appreciate it.
My girlfriend lives in South africa will she be able to come visit me in the US ?
i am not sure if South Africa is a banned country. You should check the US website or call the embassy.
hi! would you or anyone else on here know if you can enter the US after having the vaccine done? i’m wondering if that’s a way to get around the restrictions?
That's the best way around it.
hello, not right now unfortunately. hopefully in the near future the ban will be lifted or altered for those who have received the vaccine
can i still go through turkey then to lax on a esta?
you should be able to
Did someone try this recently?
i havent heard from anyone but im sure people are still doing this. a couple of people have commented recently that they plan to do this soon. hope this helps

Hi, you said you know some people that go t in the US that where of shengen nationalities. Do you know what they told at customs? Will they let you in if you say your there simply for a vacation? (since that might come over weird during these times). Im asking because i'm planning to go next week, ill be quarantining in turkey though instead of croatia.
Hello they were honest about their reasons. most of them were to see friends or family. but so long as they can see that you have quarantined for 14 days in a different country, i dont see a reason for them turning you away. they might ask you some extra questions but that should be all. however like i said i do not know all. i would suggest calling the US embassy in your country to make sure before you travel. Good luck!
As an American can I go to Croatia for two weeks then go to Paris? I’m so confused by all of the different policies. Thanks so much!
hello, i dont think you can. the difference with most of europe, is they are banning americans. there isnt this 14 day loophole unfortunately so you would be denied entry. you can try calling the french embassy and ask them maybe.

Sabrina Hegenbarth, I need to go to America as well but I understood that I would have to have a good reason to do so like a letter from my Doctor saying that I can't get a certain treatment in the UK and another one from the Doctor I would be seeing in America saying that he could treaf me. Do you know if this is true? Or can you just go there as long as you spend 15 days or more in Croacia for instance? I've just double checked and it says you need a reasonable excuse to enter America.
@@thereshopeforallofus2487 @There's hope for all of us! i actually have a good reason which is I need to vacate my apartment which I didn't have time to do during my OPT visa grace period because I had to return home for family reasons.

@@thereshopeforallofus2487 Could you let me (or others reading through the comment section) know where you read about the restriction you described?
Edit:
I just searched for it and it seems the restriction you mentioned applies to travel from and back to the UK?
I'm from Germany and (luckily) theres no such rule in place (yet). I wasn't able to find one yet at least
Sabrina Hegenbarth. It was on the website www.gov.uk > usa that I read that anyone traveling to America from the UK would need what they call a reasonable excuse, as you say other Countries might not have these same restrictions. I've just noticed that even on the www.gov. UK > germany website it says people from the UK cannot fly to Germany unless they have a reasonable excuse. This is the third time I've typed this in the comments of this video, each time I send it I can see it added to the comments and then I will check to see if it is still there after 10 minutes and it's not there but hopefully you are getting this in your email account.
Sabrina Hegenbarth, thank you for answering my question. I'm desperate to go and see a Holistic dentist in Texas, but I would have thought it will be difficult for me to get a letter from my ordinary dentist in the UK saying that there is not a dentist in the UK that can do the work I need done.
