He doesn't recognize Frisk as a human, and even after being warned by Flowey, AND after being pulled into a fight, he STILL doesn't know what's going on, pointing to Alphys not calling him. If he'd been called by Alphys and told there was a human obliterating everyone, and was THEN warned by a terrified flower about someone coming, and was THEN pulled into a fight on SIGHT, he should NOT have been so nonchalant about the situation. At worst, he should've been telling Frisk, who he thought was a monster, about the rampaging human and offering them safety. He clearly didn't know what was going on. So, naturally... Great AU potential there. Alphys actually calls him. What would he do if he DID know what was going on?

Chef's Kiss to the breaking line being in Chara's red font. While I'd never assume it's not there and know it's because of the twist with Frisk not being the First Child, I do wish UT gave a bit more attention to the Dreemurr parents' relationship with and loss of them too, since losing both in one day was obviously a huge part of their trauma and (if DR is any indication) Asgore clearly loves his adopted human child a lot too.
I've always imagined that Asgore was holding back and hoping to lose the fight the whole time so that he wouldn't have to live with the guilt of killing another human. The reason why being that if he were to go all-out, he would've just absorbed the souls beforehand since he only needs one more. This, I imagine, would be the theme for that hypothetical fight.
Oh he was definitely holding back. Considering how Undyne talked about her training with him, mentioning that in the beginning she couldn't land a single hit on him. Now we don't know how a battle between two monsters looks, but we've only seen one monster that was able to dodge attacks and that was Sans; so potentially even Asgore could've dodged our attacks if he wanted to.

Mentioning 7 souls actually does make me imagine this as some timeline where Asgore has the 7 souls to break the barrier, but continued to hesitate because he knew it'd mean the war he promised: perhaps kept the 7th a secret but something forced his hand, perhaps another human arriving to prove he has enough, (since the other monsters seem to find it perfectly believable Frisk could leave the Underground without either killing the other, might have 7th off initially). Or perhaps Asgore using Monster Kind like Flowey-Asriel did to open the Barrier, with the plea being to spare Humanity rather than release the souls (as he probably would for the monster's of his own volition)
I love every bit of this. There is so much attention to detail, like how Asgore's pupils slowly shift between the colors of the 6 absorbed HUMAN SOULs during the "His Crown" segment and the few pixels of the rainbow trail effect during the 1st segment as seen in the ASRIEL fight in the base game.
