Buy a house with patience. Don’t just swing at one you like, there’s so many options. I learned this from my realtor, she showed me a house and I loved it and I was already going to me an offer but she said to wait and to look at other houses and I’m glad I waited because I am literally living in my dream house right now at a low price of 1600 a month!!!

Wow, I'm so jealous. I'm in california and I'm in the process of purchasing a home. Well, the market is crazy now but my monthly payment will be 3400. Rent in california is staggering.

If you're looking for this content right now - I would recommend checking out Monica Church's channel (shes actually friends with Jeanine!) - she bought a house last year, and she vlogged the whole process, the good and the bad! It was really helpful - she really knows her stuff! (so much so, she got her real estate license lol)

My husband’s aunt lives in Lewisville and I love the houses there! So beautiful 😻
My wife and I have been vlogging our house hunting process in south Austin/Buda area, and this market has been wild! We keep getting outside! Lol.
Omg yay yay yay!!! Move close to Dani, so Stella can have her auntie Jeanine close by. You can also get roommates to help with rent! FYI I personally wouldn’t paint brick, brick is truly a timeless look and once you paint brick you have to paint it forever whereas that’s the beauty of non painted brick it’s timeless and you don’t have to keep up with it

I found house #5 in 2 seconds (Texas Real Estate Agent) 😛 and it’s 525k. GIRL you will be able to find SO much more house if you look outside of Dallas. We’re in Mansfield (25ish mins from Dallas) and you could get a NEW build for 300k if you want!!

You are the fourth RUclipsr moving from LA, feel like more people are realizing the materialistic side and life style of LA through covid, it’s a luxury to live there. From the different restaurants to the people, there’s this need to keep up with everyone while still trying to make it. This city is definitely meant for those who were born there because people who aren’t feel absolutely lonely there and now more without that materialistic lifestyle. I feel you’ll be much more happier in Dallas. God bless!

We bought a new build a year ago & it was a “spec home” or called a “quick sell” home. It came with several upgrades & we got $10k off & only had to pay 3% closing costs! We are in love with it! Something to look into 😊

Hi Jeanine,
I just bought my first house before thanksgiving. I believe we are around the same age and believe me the whole house hunting and purchasing process is scary, nerve wrecking, and exciting. Who knew adulting was hard ? Lol. I would suggest making a list of the top 5 needs and wants. I know 5 is not a lot but it won’t be overwhelming. Location was a big thing for me too. The market in some places are great with low interest rates. So I know now is the time to buy! If location is key, I would say keep looking ! Something will come !! It took me 8 months to find a home with my top 5 needs. I’m going though renovations now and it’s a little stressful but will be worth it! I prayed to GOD that he would Guided me though the journey and the hurdles that may come with the process. You will find your house soon ! Good luck !

I understand it's personal but it would be soo helpful if you talked about your budget and how to budget for the first time home buying. I understand Texas is a unique home buying market but I think it would be really helpful and transparent

This makes me happy. I think LA was good for you - moving away from home, living with roomies, living alone, stretching your wings, and finding your true purpose. But you have outgrown LA, and you light up when you go back to Texas.
House 5 is so fun! You could do so much with the open area and I love the kitchen
So different and so unique.... I think it does have character!
I’m 23 and bought a house in ATL when I was 22... it was a process finding the right home and we went under contract then backed out then God placed the perfect home. Saw it and was under contract in barely 24 hours
The market is hot here
But if your finances are set and you know you wanna I’m live in Dallas then buying isn’t as scary as people make it out
Later on you could totally move again and keep that house as a rental or Airbnb and make a small profit while paying off the house then eventually having two properties

As another Dallas native, I’m curious as to why “the location was not my fav”. I mean like, did they show you houses in oak cliff? Or was it just that there wasn’t much around or to far from family?
I live in oak cliff🙄 we just moved here because it’s the most affordable house my parents found with a gated community, it’s not bad, it just depends which area in oak cliff
My assumption was these houses were in Oakcliff.
🤔affordable houses in Oakcliff...no way...houses there are going up $ crazy...there is a lot of construccion and renovations plus is 5 min away from dallas downtown area...you can find a bigger and cheaper house in other areas away from dallas....

@@shiaotzu3250 that’s literally what I said before moving here😂but the truth is, dallas is growing and changing a lot. Many people are moving here so when we went to look at house with a real este agent he said that the area that we used to live in they’re making it more for college students and people that work near downtown and areas like oak cliff and west Dallas, prices are going up like crazy because they want more middle income people to move here and lower income people to move somewhere else
Yesss! I LOVE ZILLOW window shopping! we just put an offer on a house that I absolutely love and will be closing soon and I’m STILL house hunting on Zillow. It’s one of my favorite things to do 😅

Dallas is beautiful!! I suggest looking in the Lakewood area, which I’ve heard is the same area Dani Austin is around!! Try also the Lower Greenville area, or Victory Park area, which is actually the same area Catherine and Sean Lowe live!! Look into these areas, they’re very nice and you will not be disappointed!

I live in Dallas and this is exciting to watch! I feel like a lot of great places would be in frisco/legacy/plano/richardson?! Definitely north of the city and more suburban! Areas in the city would be like uptown/highland park but it's pretty expensive. There's tons of areas with newly renovated houses so hopefully you find the perfect one!!
I totally thought you would love house #5. I loved it. The WRL area is awesome. But then you mentioned character and I now see that is missing! We live in Plano and our house definitely has quirks/character ;)

Definitely wanting know more and everything! I just moved to Dallas about 1.5 years ago & now I'm thinking about buying a home. I just can't decide if I want a fixer upper or something already done or buying a brand new constructed home but those are like 30+ miles away from where I work so I want something closer to the city.

Hi Jeanine, I'm from the DFW and my mom is a realtor. I don't know your exact price range for houses, but if you are looking to be in the city and in the heart of Dallas you'd be looking at older (preexisting) homes. However, from what I can see I can estimate the price range and I would suggest if you don't mind the drive to go to Dallas to look in the outskirts of the DFW. There is a lot of new communities near Frisco which include Aubrey, Anna, Prosper, and Wylie. There are a lot of incentives into moving to a new community and also a lot of good warranties, but if you are intending into buying a preexisting home I suggest in getting a good inspector (because sometimes the house may be a beautiful fixer upper, but sometimes the bones of the house aren't good). Anyways, I hope this advice was helpful! I love your videos and as always "Hook'em" 🤘🧡

I say keep looking. You can always change the house, however, you can’t change the location. It will be one of the biggest purchases of your life, so don’t settle. Find something with a pool if that’s what you want, find the layout you want, etc. Renovations can always make it your own but keep in mind they usually end up costing a lot more than they say they will. Good Luck!
