Unpopular opinion: I really don't care for these guys. A big problem with AC2 for me is that the Templars are too cartoonishly evil. Ezio ending the Pazzi at least had some emotional weight, since they were responsible for Ezio's family dying and the attempted assassination of Lorenzo de Medici, but the Venitian Templars were basically filler. I really wish the game would have more nuanced villains, like in most other AC games, to really test Ezio's conviction to the Assassin cause.

I agree. The templars from ezios time besides rodrigo and the pazzi were like filler Templars. Cesare himself never felt like a Templar. Looking back ezio was just killing cartoon evil villains. Which is why I prefer ac3 rogue and black flag templars over ac2 templars because they actually had a reasonable purpose.

I can see why Rodrigo chose Marco, the only one who dared to move forward with the plan without his permission, knew extremely well that Ezio was in Venezia already and killed Emilio, and the only one to question Rodrigo's safety about being in the open about their plans.
He really was careful.
