Pazzi Conspiracy: Ezio and Templar's Plot to Kill Lorenzo Medici (Assassin's Creed 2 | Story Movie)

- The full story behind 'Pazzi Conspiracy', the Templar plot to murder Lorenzo and Giuliano de' Medici, of the House of Medici - the ruling family of Florence - and hand control of the city to the House of Pazzi, and the Templar Order. Ezio overheard a prayer being proclaimed by Antonio Maffei, and as it ended, the group questioned Bernardo Baroncelli about the equipment. Bernardo assured the others that all the weapons and armor were provided. Stefano da Bagnone asked if it was brought with consent from the Pope, to which Rodrigo Borgia, who entered the room, replied that the Pope gave his tacit blessing on the operation, as long as no one was killed. Francesco de' Pazzi then spoke, assuring Rodrigo and everyone at the meeting that they are prepared to strike at the Santa Maria del Fiore, but remarking that it wasn't easy due to the fact that Lorenzo's brother, Giuliano de' Medici kept changing the plans.
Rodrigo noticed Jacopo de' Pazzi's unusual behavior, and asked if he was worried about the possibility of the Medici suspecting anything. Before he could respond, he was interrupted by Francesco, claiming that the Medici are too stupid and arrogant to notice. While this elicited amusement from the others, Jacopo quickly reprimanded him, stating that they should not underestimate their enemies, and mentioned the fact that his son was killed because of this. Francesco reassured all of the Templars that no such surprises would happen again.
Rodrigo told them to make sure everything was in place, as he had to attend to his business in Rome. After this, they bid each other farewell and prepared for their operation. Ezio continued to travel through the tunnel and located the Assassin Seal hidden inside the tomb of Darius. From there, he proceeded to make his way out of the Novella to contact La Volpe.
Arriving at the harbor through the small passage from the sewers, Ezio met up with La Volpe, and discussed the words spoken by the Templars at the meeting. He proceeded to mention that their plans involved the Medici, and that they aimed to enact it at the Duomo on Sunday. He also remarked that the Pope has given them support. La Volpe was not surprised by this, dismissing it to be typical behavior from Sixtus. Suddenly, La Volpe remembered that the Medici family will be at the Duomo for Sunday service, along with the rest of Florence. He then realized that the Pazzi plan to initiate an attack on the Medici at High Mass, suspecting their intentions to be the takeover of Florence. La Volpe was heavily concerned about Ezio's discovery.
He warned him that if he were to fail in countering the Pazzi's attack, control over Florence would shift over to the Pazzi, thus putting the lives of the citizens in ruins. Ezio reassured him that it will never come to that, stating that it would be an opportunity to get close and end the conspirators' plan. Bidding La Volpe farewell, Ezio left for the Duomo...

Originally the assassination was inside the cathedral.
Yes, they said in a commentary that they moved it outside in the game, because the game world had a 1:4 scale and they couldn't fit the event in with the doors open. The alternative would have been to keep it closed and have loading screens on exiting the church and really ruin the flow.
Also apparently it was Jacopo whose body was strung from that building that night, not Francesco.

You can actually get around to his front without setting him off. Just descend down the other side of the palazzo and run around to his front. His AI will still make him run the same direction so he will run right towards you.

In all fairness, you can still respond without talking. The shock put her to be very silent, but still expresses emotions. She even hugged her son, Ezio. So theres that.
Being shocked doesnt make her emotionless.

The Medici were my favourite topic in history. Except what they did to Machiavelli... That was a dick move. But at least they were interesting. Pity the schools don't go into European history much here. But yeah, the Medici were kinda assholes to one of my other favourite figures in history, Machiavelli...

I always remember taking deafening Lorenzo VERY seriously. I was under the impression that because he was stabbed that he was in a weakened state so I always figured the guards would just destroy him so I just watched him like a hawk

So today was probably the most awkward day of my life. For months now I've been seeing a waiter at a cafe working looking exactly like Lorenzo De'Medici. I see him everyday almost, his hair, his face, his body looks absolutely the same, i always wanted to speak to him but i never got the chance to because he had too much work, and so i got the chance and talked to him today after too much willing and as he was cleaning the tables with a huge plate on his hand with glasses on top, i suddenly told him "hi can i ask you something sir? " He said " yes what is it " he was busy working btw, i said to him " you remind me of the principe of firenze Lorenzo De'Medici" that came out of nowhere, he stood there almost ready to snap at me out of anger because he thought i was trolling him. He didn't say a word, he looked confused and i instantly told him " ok whatever i dont wanna keep you from your work, good luck, keep doing what you're doing " he pointed his head down for a second and he said " ok thanks... " Next time i will give him some tips and say something pleasant. Funny thing is that he is an expert waiter even though he is Lorenzo De'Medici number 2 😅

Ugh i loved this game and all i just wish the Templars were more of a challenge in this one at the time and wish most of them were young we just killed these old really evil dudes who probably would have died from natural causes in that era but it was satisfying killing those even tho we spared them from slow sicking deaths.
