    Relevant information! I taught in Chongqing for two years (in the south) and still needed a jacket for the winter time. If that's when you're arriving make sure to check the seasonal weather so you're not under-prepared like I was!

    I'm going to be teaching in an adult center. I have black pants, but I also have brown, brown with red/purple stripes, navy blue, blue/green plaid, and beige pants as well. I'd like to know if I can wear these clothes as they are my business professional clothes. I also would like to know if I can wear turtlenecks, etc.

      Hi Grant
      You will have to double check with your airline on their baggage regulations, but you should be able to bring it.
      Warm regards

      Hi Dianna, you'll have to double check with the airline you'll be flying with, in terms of the luggage restrictions. You only need your essentials with you. You can learn more here about what you should pack: www.englishfirst.com/esl-jobs/what-to-pack-for-your-year-with-ef-china/.

    Can a uniform top be provided if I will be working at an adult center? I don't have a lot of business style tops because I haven't really had the need for them.

    • @EFenglishfirst.WorkAbroad
      @EFenglishfirst.WorkAbroad  6 лет назад

      Hi Jacob, at the adult centres we don't usually provide uniform tops. This is only for the kids and teen schools. A plain shirt would be okay, you could pick one up at Uniqlo or H&M when you arrive for less than $25

    As a Muslim, I would like to know if I can wear a long black dress(abayah), a religious dress which is worn normally.

    • @EFenglishfirst.WorkAbroad
      @EFenglishfirst.WorkAbroad  6 лет назад

      Hi Faisa, we have a uniform for all teachers to wear - beige pants and EF English First t-shirts, and for the winter, long-sleeved shirts. We do have some teachers who wear their head scarf while they teach, but you can discuss it further with your recruiter to see what your center's dresscode policy would be and what you would be most comfortable teaching in.
      Kind regards, Erica

      Yes, wee have teachers of all ages joining us. Due to local visa regulations, we accept teachers up to 54 years of age.

      Yes, I guess that is what it is. I'm not sure, I just heard the word 'deposit' at 12:10. I am just trying to determine how much I should bring with me overall.

    Can women wear black pants or do they have to be khaki

    • @EFenglishfirst.WorkAbroad
      @EFenglishfirst.WorkAbroad  6 лет назад

      Hi Sierra, it depends where you teach. If you teach English to kids and teens, you would need to wear khakis. If you teach English to adults, you could wear black pants.
