I remember having to do this when I taught 2nd grade. THANKFULLY every subject that I teach has slides from the specific curriculum. I only do morning meeting slides now.
I liked watching the whole process from beginning to end which shows how you integrate reading skills with vocabulary and word study as well as independent work. Such a great opportunity to shadow you through your teaching of reading.
We use CKLA for k-5 and Something that I don't really know for 6th which is elementary in my school. I think it is Spring Board ELA. CKLA has great premade slides.
Enjoyed your video like always even though I teach sixth grade. My students would of benefited having this kind of detailed lessons in elementary school because I notice they have a lot of gap in some of the skills they should have by sixth grade!! We are switching from Wonders in Spanish to Galeria in Middle School as our Spanish Language Arts curriculum. I’m using Google Slides but I haven’t been as detailed since I only have about 50 minutes a day!!
I love your videos, thank you for being so real and positive. Do you have a copy of your weekly plan anywhere? I think it is so smart having the whole week at a glance and the standard, and ideas on one page.
Do you use UFLI fully? Or do you just pick and choose slides that work best for your lesson? Also do you have the UFLI manual? Wondering if it’s worth the buy? 😊 Do you make math slides? If so a video like this for math would be amazing! 🤩
My district really wants use to move away from slides. Just started my channel and I explain how I have very minimal slides. Most days I only use 1-2 slides for morning meetings and independent reading reminders.
@@mrs_katie_in_elementary I think it’s because some teachers teach only to the slides and don’t think of other ways to get the message to students. Some just rely so heavily on them. It’s always “some” that does something that most people aren’t but everyone gets punished in a sense. I’ve just learned to use them as visuals from time to time.
I started to later in the school year when I discovered GoMath had premade ones online! I would download them and modify them. Definitely check your curriculum and see if they have any basic slide types available!
@@britniplowman9291 I found them in the online platform… click on the specific lesson and there is a section title they are under… they are called digital lesson slides… cant remember the name of the heading at the moment 😅
Can you share the timing of your ELA block? We get 90 minutes but it’s continuously broken up with special, then pull out, and push in. Right now we get about 11:45- 12 phonics, 12-12:50 special, 1- 1:30 is RtI pull out, 1:30-1:50 push in (fluency), and then 1:50- 2:20 is ELA whole group. My kids are fried! And bc pull out is BEFORE whole group ELA, I feel like I can’t teach the skill and then have them go practice 🥺. I’d love to see how long you get and how it’s structured!
My ELA Block is from 11:15-12:30.... 11:15-12:10 are these whole group slides. I aim to start the independent work slide at 12:10 and they work on their work and I pull flexible groups until 12:30ish. Our computer time comes next so if it runs into that a little bit it's alright.
This is a really weird question but do you still have your old slides from first grade wonders? Are they available to purchase or would you be willing to send them? We just adopted wonders and I’m first grade and there are a lot of moving pieces/learning curve when it’s all new 🤣 love your videos!!
Unfortunately I do not have this original slides and many of them have changes in quality due to downloading the powerpoint form when I left that district. I also taught from the old edition of Wonders, not the recent version. I do share an inside look at my "Wonders" slides in some of my past vlogs like this one: ruclips.net/video/Yyps3SyVktM/видео.html and this one: ruclips.net/video/yhgYahp5PBs/видео.html
In addition I use some slide resources from products that I purchase from other creators.. I like to piece things together but do not always have the rights to sell what is on the slides.
Right now the grammar is integrated with our word study skills (for example we have learned about plural nouns, past tense verb endings, and future tense verbs so far) and writing is sentence level integrated with our vocabulary practice and written responses with our comprehension skills. Soon we will add paragraph writing in the form or narratives then expository texts and I’ll figure out where to squeeze that in 😅
@mrs_katie_in_elementary awesome!! When you integrate the paragraph writing, can you share that with us? I'm struggling fitting it in. Thank you for doing this. You motivated me to make my slides today!!!
Never delete this video! My first year teaching is next school year and this will be very helpful!

Please make an updated one with morning meeting slides, math slides, and every slideshow you make

Fantastic!👏 The repetition of each focus area each day helps reinforce learning . So good, really well done! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you so much for sharing this video!! I really love the simplified way you set them up.
You are so welcome!
I so enjoyed watching this video. Great job! Love the routine for each day. If I go back to teaching, I will teach with slides. Thanks for sharing!

That's awesome!!
@mrs_katie_in_elementary in math we use for k-5 bridges by math learning center. For math in 6th grade we use illustrative mathematics.

It's more difficult when your blocks are shorter for sure!!
Love this! I need a step-by-step tutorial 😁

Glad it was helpful!!
I use WPS Office but it works perfectly!

Our K-2 grades use it fully! We are just using some of the word lists/slides/progression for our 3rd graders… K-2 really likes the manual!
I am a Google district and love Google slides! I make all my presentations and my student handouts in GS.
Google Slides are the BEST!!
I am also a Google slides fan.
I have two more years until I become a teacher can’t wait ❤❤❤❤
Congrats!! Learn as much as you can and soak up experiences and observation time!
Thanks so much I will
Hi Katie, do you happen to sell your slides or a template that you did for grade one or even sell them by week?
Katie,
How do you continue to work under lost people while trying to educate the youth?
You are more awesome than what one can account for.

Interesting... I would love to know more about why... What is their reasoning?
