Was sort of neat to observe them. I usually just glance at them before freaking out and brushing them off. They really give me an instinctive flight or fight response.
They are a tad concerning. Lyme disease is a big problem in some areas, as is a few other diseases. The ones around here can cause temporary paralysis.
As if ticks aren't nasty enough, now we have tick soft-core porn films, lol. I was hoping it would end with a wild turkey eating the featured performers.
Jane died in captivity (I might have helped we along), but sadly Jake was never seen after he got flicked off my boot. I was hoping to see if my pet spider would eat him.
I have been lucky this year (so far) and not had a problem with them but always check myself when been out, especially in the long grass and bracken, I hate the bloody things lol! Cheers Alan
I'm scared of ticks, my girlfriend always winds me up saying, "is that a tick on you" when I've been away camping, its my worst nightmare, you got good footage of them there, all the best 👍
lol I know this has to be a first.... a tick musical. Nicely done, but I still don't like those buggers. On a recent trip to KS/OK we had the worst encounter yet. They were all over the car, tent, and we found them driving back to CO.
Still trying to figure out which one is Jake and which is Jane haha, either way those closeup shots freaked me out! I guess everything deserves love after all...
Jake is smaller and sort of spotty. I figured this would be an issue. Who actually knows how to distinguish a tick’s sex? (unless they are trying to write a tick drama).
At least you could tell if a tick like this was on you... whereas I really had to search with a bright flashlight to spot the dozen or so that got on me this past weekend... about a tenth the size of the ones on this clip. fI also added in a couple hundred chigger bites and called it a successful adventure. Ugh.
Gros. The ticks around here prefer smaller animals as their hosts when they’re in their larval and nymph life phases, so I’ve never had to deal with the little guys. No chiggers around here either.
Makes you want to take a flamethrower to the field.. Thank you for the video, Carley
I wanted to capture some ticks on film, and saw Jane as soon as a crossed the fence. Jake found me as I was filming.
great vlog my friend. here to support full view and like
Beautiful close-up shots, Carley! thanks for sharing this interesting view (glad to see it on the video, not in real life on my skin :-)
Cute intro! The music with this makes me laugh so much! Thanks for sharing and I cheered for you at the end!
Thanks Kay. I was having a bit of RUclips burnout and Nate suggested something artsy to mix it up.
Well produced, and creepy... and strangely beautiful video. 🙌
Creep and strangely beautiful was exactly what I was aiming for, lol :D
Hahaha I smiled all the way through this one. If I had to sum it up in one word.......CREATIVE
Thanks Tony!
That was AmAzInG great edits and storytelling. Thanks for sharing
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
What in the name of Batman have i just watched? Good to see these little bleeders close up though. Great capture.
Was sort of neat to observe them. I usually just glance at them before freaking out and brushing them off. They really give me an instinctive flight or fight response.
The zoom shots were great!
Thanks. I borrowed a digital microscope from work. It’s a fun little gadget.
You have a great sense of humor
I pretend, at least :D
On point. Such a nuisance, worst part is I don't bring my dogs a lot of places because of the tick exposure
They sure to love dogs. All that fur to cling to and hide in. I barely want to bring myself outside in tick season.
haha the ending! Great close up shot!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
It just goes to prove Carley that size does not always matter. They cause some concern don't they? Take care of your bloody self. Mark
They are a tad concerning. Lyme disease is a big problem in some areas, as is a few other diseases. The ones around here can cause temporary paralysis.
Yep, they are a foe of yours for sure. All protection to you...
As the long gloved hand of fate comes along and knocks us all off our branch sometimes. Lesson learned lol
Probably for the best (from his perspective). I had fully intended on seeing if my pet spiders would eat him.
Carley... you are an awesome type of person. I love this.
Thanks Nate :D
An so are you. “something artsy” was your idea.
I'm just the poke of inspiration of idea. You are the one that came up with everything else :P
“All you need is love”....and blood! ^_^
Hahah :)
That was great. Thank you.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.

very good. ticks are strange. ticks are evil.
Completely agree. That’s why it’s so fun to put them in musical love stories, lol.
That was fun! Bravo!
Thanks! Glad you liked it.
Truly outstanding But now we are much more afraid of the Tick ( Ticked Off ) Awesome work {:-)
The two tick videos that I’ve done have done nothing to make me stop hating them. Ticks truly do suck.
"Matchmaker, matchmaker make me a match.
Find me a find, catch me a catch!"
Lol, maybe next video will be “Fiddlercrab on the Roof”
Great footage. Found you from DR outdoors when you helped out CastFromTheHip. Thought I'd send some support your way as well.
Thanks! Got you back!

Lol, thanks Amos!
I have been lucky this year (so far) and not had a problem with them but always check myself when been out, especially in the long grass and bracken, I hate the bloody things lol! Cheers Alan
Ya, they are little buggers alright.
And buggers is just my family-friendly word. I have some much stronger choice words for them.
New supporter here and this is awesome but i hat ticks! lol Cheers!
I hate them too, lol.
I'm scared of ticks, my girlfriend always winds me up saying, "is that a tick on you" when I've been away camping, its my worst nightmare, you got good footage of them there, all the best 👍
Ya they freak me out too. I say it is a great reason to devote a musical to them :D
lol I know this has to be a first.... a tick musical. Nicely done, but I still don't like those buggers. On a recent trip to KS/OK we had the worst encounter yet. They were all over the car, tent, and we found them driving back to CO.
The US really is a place of wonders, canyons, bears, mountains and driving ticks :)
😆
Yes, the tourists are always so set on finding bears They completely overlook the mighty and terrifying tick.
Hahahaha! Love it! Just subbed, cheers!
Thanks. I look forward to checking out yours as well.
The Last Grownup in the Woods Thank you!
I expected to have some lyrics! What the heck my friend! Gotta bust out the opera haha
I’ll be sure to do some singing next time, though you might regret that :P
Nice photography but Ticks are still creepy 😄👍
I totally agree, lol
That was cool
Thanks!
Tick-rolled
Lol :D
ooooh the drama lol
Thanks Steve
Ticks scare me. I don't like them, but this was a great video. Nice footage
They still scare me. In the shot where I let it latch onto my hand I still freaked out even though I invited it.
The Last Grownup in the Woods I would have too lol
Still trying to figure out which one is Jake and which is Jane haha, either way those closeup shots freaked me out! I guess everything deserves love after all...

Aaagghhhhhh. Aggh. Uh. Ugh. Holy shite.
lol. No sympathy for the star-crossed lovers, eh?
Ugh horrible things, given me the hebe geebees
Me too. I freaked out when I let it crawl on my hand even though I invited it, lol.

😂😂😂😂🖒😂😂😂😂🖒😂😂😂
:D
Not so much a chick flick as tick flick
Lol. Indeed :D
