As a Floridian, this would terrify me. Never knowing when the ground is going to shake or open up. At least with hurricanes, storms, flooding, and tornadoes we usually have some idea it’s coming.

A 5.0 earthquake is a fairly rare occurrence. Note there were deaths. No widespread loss of housing or drinking water. No days without electricity. And there is no annual earthquake season.
I was in one earthquake that was terrifying. Landers 7.2 1992. 1 person died. And that is my experience over a 42 yr period of living in southern CA.

@@scottyb4606 it’s not that bad I feel more bad for y’all you guys have hurricanes and storm surges that’s way more dangerous I live in the valley and earthquakes are kinda just normal now 😂it’s like “was that an earthquake? Oh well”

@@scottyb4606 that is awesome and you made a lot of good points. Wow, I didn’t know they were so rare there. I guess just from preference, I’d rather endure a more frequent and possibly destructive natural disaster than never know when it will happen.

@@scottyb4606 do y’all have earthquake drills in California schools or businesses? I guess I am just more thinking of how scary a big one would be like the one in 1906.

On the flip side, I will say we don’t get major or significant hurricanes every year… the last big one before this year in Florida was in 2018 with Micheal. They also don’t always hit the same area, and the horrific damage you see on tv is usually contained in a very tight area around the center of the eye. Most I’ve ever seen is about 25 miles either side of the eye for the kind of damage that wipes houses clean. Yes, drinking water and power can be a problem, but in Florida we’ve gotten a lot better about getting things working fast. We always have linemen come in from other coastal states who we also support after hurricanes. And, a lot of cities now trim trees and clean storm drains at the beginning of hurricane season. You should come experience one some day and maybe I’ll come try an earthquake 😂

Damn, scary! Back around 2012-13 maybe, we had a pretty big earthquake in Maryland. Which is unheard of, or at least in my lifetime I have never experienced one. All of my neighbors and I immediately ran out our front doors looking for what caused it! Not even thinking about an earthquake! Then the message came across the TV. Wild ... I hope no one was injured in the one in Cali!

The reason these two people died was because they had medical emergencies, and because the roads were out, the emergency help could not get to them. I haven't heard if the probs were due to the quake.

That was the 6.4 in Northern CA. This was a 5.1 I believe and you're seeing the cam shaking. I was in one where I saw the ground making a 3 foot wave. This may be the San Jose one a month or so ago, or the northern CA had a 5.1 before the 6.4.

Stop doing that, earthquakes have always happened in California, what is wrong with you people being obsessed with wanting the world to end. I’m a believer of Christ and believe in everything you do as well but you are fear mongering over things that have always happened. I get times may seem like they are getting worse and worse but we don’t know when this world will end.

Next to the turbines next to the oil towers next to the Fm tower. This is how they are going to build back better… Get it yet? If not just check out what is happening in Maui to the residents.
