Cotton Soft Sponge Cake With Fresh Cream

  • The recipe of simple and delicious cotton soft sponge cake with vanilla chantilly cream (40 x 25 cm or 10 x 15 in pan)
    6 eggs, separate egg yolks and whites
    90g oil (1/3 cup + 1tbsp)
    110g milk (1/2 cup)
    2 tsp vanilla extract
    165g cake flour (1.5 cup)
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    140g sugar (2/3 cup)
    400ml cold heavy cream
    40g sugar (3 tbsp)
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    strawberries for topping

    This sponge cake is one of the best desserts I’ve found on yt so far! It’s so light and fluffy and delicious on its own, my friends and I finished all of it in one night. Thanks for sharing!

      To me it seemed like the opposite, the sponge looks dry and it took tiny resistance to cut. You can see the knife not smoothly gliding through the layers while cutting

      @@Cathymazzini I used the same shaped pan shown in the video.
      I’m other words I basically just used a glass rectangular pan and it always comes out good! I said this a year ago and I’m still using it todya

    I've made this cake a few times, and it's very delicious. It's soft, not too sweet, rich vanilla flavor. Just perfect.
    Just a reminder to not line your mould. The cake shrinks if you do 😂. Learnt the lesson after twice fail.

      @@jk6586 sorry, didn't notice your question before. I used 8 inch round mould, no adjustment to the recipe. Just lined the bottom, should not line the sides. Only then it rose & cooled very nicely. 😊

    I made mine today thank you for sharing, mine didn’t look nice because I don’t have the right tools and same size baking tins but omg it tasted just like shop brought cake , so yummy and light .

    On the ingredients list baking powder is not listed but is indicated on the vedio. I bake it today but it flopped still tastes good. Want to try again. My daughter even eating it while hot😁😁

    But i hv a question plz how can i bake it in a round pan for birthday cake?

      Depends on your round pan size but you could split the batter in half and bake it so you get two sponges. If they turn out thick just cut it in half and u’ll get 4 sponges. That would make a goood cake.

      You should be able to since it is just flavoring. I don’t know about actual lemon juice though since the acidity might mess with something

      Hi, you can bake the cake in advance and keep (chill and airtight condition) for up to 3 -4 days. Whipped cream is best served right away but you can also keep it up to 3 days (chill and airtight too).

      All purpose flour
      But making cake flour is easy
      Take one cup of APF and remove two table spoons of flour from it and replace that with 2 tbsp of corn flour

    I tried this but why does my cake does like pancake? It has more egg flavor? I used all purpose flour and cornstarch instead of cake flour bcuz I didn’t have any. It didn’t taste that good…
