When I was younger and my dad taught me how to shoot he always just called it the “notch above the trigger”. And not all guns have it, our AR-15 my dad has me shoot doesn’t have the notch, and I don’t think our hunting rifles, sub 2000 kel tech, or shotguns have it either. My dads ex law enforcement and shot over 11 million rounds in the academy so he probably knows the right terminology. He just never thought it was important to tell me, he made sure I knew my trigger discipline though. Oh and sorry if this wasn’t clear but I said firearm classes teach it too.
