What a lovely tribute to your very talented Mother, LeNae. I’m sure she is smiling in Heaven! My Mom passed away on May 17, 2023 so this will be my first Mother’s Day without her 💜. I am flying to VA on Saturday to spend the weekend with my daughter, son-in-law and grandson. We have a tradition of going to brunch at Laduree in Georgetown which I am looking forward to continuing 💖. Wishing you a beautiful and blessed Mother’s Day!! 💐💕
I’m sorry Theresa 🩷 the first one without them can be rough. I’m so glad you’ll be with your family. Enjoy that time and, as always, thank you is for watching
I love your mom's paintings LeNae. I have a mental image of the two of you playing crafts. I'm sure you were pure sunshine to her. What great memories. I'm so sorry your daughter didn't get to know her. I'll bet she would have been a wonderful grandma. As elementary as your card started, the few touches of the fine tip pen made all the difference. What a sweet card. The coffee mug tip was spot on. Who would have thought!!! hugs to you, gr
Beautiful! I am going to attempt your techniques, have always wanted to try watercolor but it has never worked for me. I think I can do this! Thank you!!
Wow thank you so much for sharing this glimpse into your life I also lost my mom and I tried just to let the mother's day pass without much Ado because it can be painful. Thank you for sharing her art and doing this wonderful tribute to her I'm sure she's looking down and smiling.
Your mom’s oil paintings that you shared are beautiful. Thank you for sharing those and the news article with us. My mom passed away in 2013 and I miss her everyday. She was a professional seamstress and yet I never learned to sew. So I know how you feel about the painting. She did so many things, quilting, embroidery, cross stitch, doll making, ceramics, tole painting, scrapbooking/card making and this is only a few. She had the attitude that you’ll never know if you can if you don’t try. I love how your water color cards turned out. I love that loose/organic look. You can’t go wrong with filling in with dots. Happy Mother’s Day. My son always picks out the most beautiful cards for me.
Lisa what a lovely mom! I bet our moms would have been friends ❤️ they had so much in common to talk about. Thank you for watching and leaving such a wonderful comment. I truly appreciate it
Thanks so much for sharing your mom, her art and what she taught you. I took a watercolor class at Oregon State University. I can honestly tell you I learned more in your short video than I did in the term I spent in the class. Thanks again! I think it would be fun to make an art journal with this little wreath on the cover.
I use a lot of coffee dyed papers and adding the mug stains will elevate the journal so much. Unfortunately I don't have the dexterity for the artwork, but brilliant!
Very nice, LeNae. Love the photo. Like you, my mom has passed (2012). I would like to try the cup method. I have not done water colors. Well no free hand painting at all. Thank you for showing what looks easy to do.😊
