World of Warships Blitz - Italian cruiser "Black Amalfi" review

- This review has been, err... overdue for a while? I'm haphazardly making my way through the Italian cruiser line, so today, we'll take a look at the Amalfi, the first of the not-quite-existing ones. This is the black version, which is a bit more brawley, which suits me just fine.

Same setup, got the legendary commander tailored for her! Not yet at sap+ but i use sap only vs dd and the light cl‘s
The combination of fuel smoke and rapid reload plus torps is great fun
It's actually an interesting question, would the improved SAP skill be sufficient to put a reliable dent into BBs, when compared to APCS...

Yep, black ships are usually just having different skill sets. But since I've been asked about this one, and hadn't reviewed the regular Amalfi, figured I might as well 😉
I have the amalfi….and it’s an awesome ship. Don’t underestimate the AP on this ship…against weak points it’s amazing. The main battery traverse is great because she’s sluggish to turn both rudder and guns…great ships over all
I'm still on the Zara on my personal account, haven't had time to grind recently. But yeah, after the French line seemed a bit disappointing to me, the Italians were surprisingly good.
@@FunandGameswithTerry where did the French line disappoint you? The Charles Martel in my opinion seems to be under estimated

Can you please research the rest of the ijn cruiser tree? The Ibuki might be worth a review since it has a 3km stealth torp range with stealth build
Good point, I haven't gone beyond Takao, I think. I may take a look at Zao, they're quite underappreciated sometimes.

There are so many black ships by now, I've lost track. This wasn't recent, but I usually don't review them separately, since they're usually just a tech tree ship with a different skillset.

It was in the shipyard group that was was before current set of shipyard botes, for 45 copper + 45 steel I think. It may have appeared in black market also.
Had the BB stayed in the circle you would have had a chance of outcapping the Asashio
Maybe. In retrospect, I should have communicated to Bismarck to cap, and rushed back to kill Asashio myself once we lost Myoko, since I had both the speed and rate of fire, while our CV had fighters overhead. Came down to a tick or two, it's hard to estimate. Much bigger strategic lesson - don't rely on your team to take down DDs, even if you have CVs and cruisers 🤪
It is true, every heavy cruiser battle someone plays in, there will always, no matter what, always be a stupid player on your team. Best of luck keeping win rates up.
I play solo / random very frequently, I think my WR is in the lower 60s or so. Not a stat I care about hugely, I much prefer having an interesting fight, even if it ends up being a loss 😁
