I'd argue also that the ending we got in Avengers: Endgame for Steve Rogers was because there wasn't a full-on Captain America 3, as they didn't know if they should make a stand-alone Marvel: Civil War Movie, and therfore they wanted to give the audience something special for Steve/Captain America in Endgame in direct response to them basically shoe-horned Avengers 2.5 into Steve and Bucky's story with Cap 3.

The place where they live and their technologies are all made by Stark Industries. Even Maria Hill recognizes Tony as her boss, not Steve Rogers.

I think Steve should be unknown instead of alive been there's a good chance that he's dead too. In spiderman far from home he's listed as one of the dead/gone avengers alongside Iron man, Vision, and black widow. Not to mention very little people live to be 106. So I think it's very likely that he died of old age between the two movies. They just haven't said it directly. Maybe Captain America 4 will bring that up.
