    Aren't we blessed with such scenery virtually on our doorstep Andrew? I was pleased that you took us along on this particular adventure. Many the days when a student, myself and others would set off either hitching or on the old 'blue' bus along the Drymen Road. Sadly, our priorities were either The Carbeth or The Salmon Leap for the demon drink. We never stopped at The Whangie or The Devil's Pulpit. . So it was a real pleasure to finally see what I had missed all those years ago. Not sure, however, if I would be out there in this weather! That Tindheim looks to be a good bit of gear, though the weight of the snow seemed to enlarge the air vents a good bit. I have come across folk who use double glazing film as a DIY alternative footprint, have you any experience with that? By the way, legend says that The Whangie was formed by the Devil's tail as he sped across that particular spot - probably on his way to his pulpit up the road!

      I need to get a hold of some of that film Michael and give it a try. I've spent many a night in the Carbeth too, I used to run a paintball biz just by the devils pulpit, we spent many a night there 😂

Nothing down here near me 🙄 Holy stone sent me the wrong drone, the E instead of the G. Wasn't that impressed but the G is on its way. And I had the same issue with those ear plugs. Had to take them out in the night as were hurting on my side. And..... I've also got that mat to review 🤣 we should join our channels to save all these reviews. Tried it in the garden alongside the x therm and it performed very well. Stats say its the same size and slightly thicker but I found the same thing with it bottoming out when sitting. Decent mat though. Atb Michael

    Hi Andrew, I’m loving your videos especially since you’re using the Tindheim. I use a hubba hubba and have recently purchased the tindheim 2 though I’ve not used it yet. The main appeal for me was the pitch in one go, I’m not so mobile as I used to be and have become increasingly concerned about venturing out in my native Aberdeenshire if rain was a possibility. I wild camp using my Brompton bike, I’ve worked out that I can just about accommodate the tent on the bike but if I have a reservation it’s about the space to pitch. I tend to find corners of fields out in the lanes so I probably have more scope that folks that take to the hills. This is the only sticking point as I decide wether to keep it or return it, I know it’s my decision to make but I’d appreciate any input advice you could offer. Thanks, Rob

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  Год назад +1

      Hi Robert, the footprint is quite long but I reckon on lower terrain you'll always find the space. The pitch as one aspect is a big advantage I have to say and in sheltered weather even with just 4 pegs which is a boon. I'd give it a go and keep it in good condition, then you can return it if you don't like it ;-)

      Hi Julian, in terms of sleeping it was comfy and warm with heat radiated back nicely. The only drawback for me was when sitting. You need to double it over to avoid compressing it too much and having cold spots. I've noticed that with any mat that's not as deep as my Neoairs to be honest. A

    Hello!
    I need your advice, please help!
    The MSR Tindheim 2 tent is sold in my city. How reliable are the materials in it if there is strong wind?
    How will the tent behave in snowfall?
    I’m mountaineering, winter is coming soon, and I keep looking at this tent.
    I wanted to order the Hilleberg nammatj 2 tent, but it is expensive and I have to wait. I understand that MSR copied this tent from Hilleberg?
    what about the condensate? Is there a lot of it in the tent in the morning or not?
    In general, my occupation is tourism and mountaineering, in four seasons of the year. Should I buy MSR?
    Thank you!

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  Год назад

      I think it's a viable alternative but you'll want to modify the vents which allow too much air and powder snow in if wind driven, you'd need a solid panel insert or be able to velcro them shut to be honest, other than that it's great!
