As you see from the description, this was originally released on Patreon back in November! As I figure how to balance between having an exclusive library on Patreon while also making sure some of the more notable content can be shared here and not making this channel a "Patreon-only" deal, I'm publicizing this video as a test! In the future, there may be other extra videos I will share publicly alongside the Patreon exclusives.
As of this post there are 5 exclusive unscripted videos available to all patrons with more on the way!

Pretty interesting! I'm already interested in watching more of this content, and I just began watching.

I'm so happy you used the Brawl version of Tetris B music lol. Also that is interesting that a simple game like Tetris can have so many variants.
8:17 if you hold the down key when pressing start you will open an alternate mode of the game that starts 10 levels ahead and it uses that alternate A music
The 4-in-1 having a smaller flash chip is probably because, it being 7 years later, flash memory density had increased, and therefore they could use a physically smaller, and cheaper, flash chip to store the ROM on. Remember, getting 2GB on an SD card used to be amazing, but now you can get 1TB on a *Micro* SD card. Technology keeps getting better.
Canada also has their own little region sticker for NES and Game Boy games for some reason (ending with "CAN"). Even though every game released in Canada is identical to the US release.
You'd think they'd just reuse the USA sticker instead like with many other consoles.
Thanks for this Breakdown. It helped me understand why the game doesn't save any high scores. I thought my refurbished copy didn't have a battery on it so I was kinda bummed.
But now that I see th internals, I know the game is operating correctly.
Great Video!
im sure you found this out at one point, but there are indeed separate releases for hong kong and china. chinese ones are explicitly labeled "FOR CHINA ONLY" and have an id of DMG-[...]-CHN-FCO, in addition to lacking english on the label.
there is also a super rare taiwanese release of tetris out there labeled DMG-TR-ROC.
that said i dont think ive come across an "HKG" release before
Minuet (aka Type A v1.0) deserves to appear more honestly (hell I could even say that it deserves to be the main theme for Tetris)
Do you know if that song appears in any other game? I'm pretty sure I already knew it, but before watching this video i had no idea there was a tetris version without the famous theme in it
@@elielsolares8695 not that I know of, hell it's barely been remixed online either
Wasn’t Hong Kong still apart of the UK when Tetris was released, could that be why there was HK and CHN regions?
yes as china lacked hong hong until 1997
Tetris DX is the ultimate Tetris in my opinion
Please explain to me: Why is there a hi score table if there is no battery and the high scores get wiped on reset?
I love playing the og tetris, on my gameboy color, but as you just said… the devs took time to do a high score list, you put your name on there, and then….turning off…
Is completely gone… smh
@@Ze_das_couvesif you play it multiple times without turning off the cartridge then you get to see your high score of all the time.
As a kid I would take a picture of my screen so I could see what my high score was.
Btw i own a REALLY OLD japan orginal Gameboy and a cartridge with 27 games in 1 😎
what language was yakuman in?
TETORISU
How are you talking so fast???
