Thank you Alan and Dean for a wonderful interview! I’ve been a huge fan of LHOTP since I was a young child and have watched the entire series at least 2-3 times. I was glad to attend one of the fan events last year and meet Dean and other cast members. Wonderful series. Wonderful interview! Thanks as always Alan!

Alan, I want to compliment you on the wonderful interview that you did with Dean.I have watched the entire Little House series multiple times, and what resonated with me was the importance of family and faith in the program. You are such a good interviewer,as demonstrated with the genre of subjects that you have covered in your podcast. I enjoyed seeing Dean on Broadway and always wondered why he didn't continue in that area of the business. You are a gentleman, and I always learn from you and your guests. Best wishes, Michael.

Thank you micheal for what you said in the live chat about compassion and relevance and it's ironic sure enough today I was watching on you tube the day ahead eoisode of y and r today and someone was saying ohh get rid of the lesbian couple and said it In more th N one comment I would have said something normally and pushed back but I know if I commented back it would have been taken down. Because the episodes won't stay. Up.
Anyway while I have been very critical of almost all gay couples and lesbian storylines and couples Concerning daytime Including how Mariah and tessa and how it came about in a, sloppy way or Bianca or will horton or Luke Snyder and for reasons I have stated many times that does not mean we can't gradually on soaps introduce new characters that might be gay or lesbian and have partners that are not related to core families.
And it's ironic bevause here we are talking about old TV still having relevance to current issues and here I am thinking again back to the hank Elliot storyline Doug Marland did at atwt from 1988 to 1989. And Billy Douglas again from oltl and getting more ideas maybe with some variances but seeing In hank Elliot how he was not related to any of the core families but revealed as Barbara's gay fashion designer who had a partner that was sick with aids who we never saw but did die.
but then I thought you know what If A soap studying how douglas wrote that and set that up would be a great way to introduce a new gay or lesbian couple in a way I could enjoy but also offer flexibility if it's not working to get out of it without effecting the core families and ruin future couplings like what happened with eden riegal and Bianca when jeffrey carlson showed up as zarf and eden had chemistry with him so they had to decide to make zarf come out as transgender just so they could do that pairing it still it kind of looked sloppy and did not make sense.
And I am saying this because sometimes it's better to think about what you don't like and come up with a way to change what you don't like about something so it becomes a positive.
But in no way is it okay to just in a nasty way say ohh get rid of that lesbian couple. Ohh I hate the lesbian couple without a clear concise explanation of your problem with it or a clearly homophobic intent.
And that's the problem everyone is so nasty and just spew stuff out and hate without anything constructive to say.
And that's the problem I am really starting to dislike.
      Take care Micheal.

I had a similar crush on that character, and it’s clear that was not only Dean Butler’s good looks but his warmth and kindness that was the reason! (Alan: Lovely interview! Thanks!)

Alan what a great wonderful interview with Dean And so insightful and ironic that little house on the prairie still has relevance today for a show that went off the air in 1982 or 1984.
The same way stories daytime did like hank Elliot still resonate today with relevance.
And Alan whn I said to much polorazation today In the live chat.
Thats because in today's society and people like Lisa Hamilton daily at hallmark she would tell people like Micheal Landan if he were alive today fir little house on the prairie now I need you to have a black family and I need you to have an Asian charecter and I need one interracial couple and a gay couple even though it had no relevance to Laura Ingalls wilders books or wouid even be time piece apropriate and that's been my point and that's what annoys me with the killing of family hour on network TV like what I grew up with and we all grew up with from the live chat.
Or the ridiculous removal of Dr zauss books like the lorax because it contains a so called racist or sexist term that's a part of history and back then those were the terms.
And Alan look at the people in your live chat today we all have diverse backgrounds or family situations but we all look back and enjoy amd miss that kind of quality in television.
And finnaly Alan for those so called people of today and bieng so polorizing on both sides they need to be reminded that family hour had diversity too with black families with Norman Lear with good times the Jeffersons and you had shows in the 1980s like amen 227 diferent strokes which spun off facts of life.
    You had Webster.
And then had family matters in the 1990s 1989 that spun off of perfect strangers and don't forget fresh prince of bel air sure the latter 2 might have Been cheesy but that's still diversity.
    And that's my point.
    Alan.
