How about the Feel Free Lure II Tandem? Many people use them for single fishing and you'll have gear that needs to go somewhere anyway so why not in front where it's easier to get?
I bought a Hobie Compass Duo kayak a few years ago (before the kick-up drives were available). It's fairly heavy and bulky, so I bought a Hobie Revo 13 a couple of years ago with the kick-up drive for solo trips. I absolutely love my Hobie Revo and I exclusively use the Revo when I go solo. But I will occasionally take someone else out with me on my Compass Duo. If I could only have one kayak, I would probably keep the Compass Duo so that I could take someone else out with me. I don't love the Compass like the Revo, but it's really nice to have for those 2 person trips. Good video and good discussion topic!
see thats the way to do it, you get a boat designed to excell at what you love to do. and a second to take family when need be
I have a crescent crew for my wife and I that we love to use together, but I have fished it solo a lot since the seat can be moved to the center. My dedicated fishing rig is nucanoe unlimited with an Xi3 now, and the crew is just a family rig.

agreed, but most poeple dont do creeks or tiny rivers, those are the pros and they know how to handle a tandem, everyday people dont.

well i kayak fish to access places my bass boat can't ,,, ex girlfriend wanted to get a tandom but fishing river in bass boat freaked her out seeing 12 ft gators. so no tandem bought and sent the girl packing . . priorities im not shopping on the weekends that's not a hobby lol
