Jeff Trinkle that’s latch paste. That pasted directly to the end of something else, if time is not aligned the beat will sound off beat overtime. That’s why I use shift and drag

This sounds more like a Styles P type of beat or something. If you want to make a WSG type beat, find a dark loop and leave it without drums or just pit a basic break on it

why are you hitting shift when you slice?
Shift allows you to slice off the grid. If the sample is too on the grid, you could nudge it off. Or if the sample is too off beat you can nudge it closer to the beat.
