Hi Mary! We did a de flask video just before christmas. if you want, check this one ruclips.net/video/C2eedf-1Z9o/видео.html we didn't film the de flask of the Mae naui x telbird, as we did those before we started on RUclips ...
oh, and we saw your last vid of the capsules you have going and they look like they are off to a good start! if you haven't found someone to do the flashing for you yet, I would definitely recommend you start asking around and get something lined up now cause you want to get them to a lab quick after harvest
@@elpilarorchids Call me crazy but I’m thinking to do it myself! I need to search for the media and the rest of equipment. Do you know how long it takes to mature for phalanopsis?
@@marygorchidsmore2058 Ah, best of luck! I commend you on your willingness to go that route! as far as maturing times, I can't say...it depends. we have had a couple breeders tell us that if a phal still has the cap on after 8 months it should be good to harvest green. others say that you should wait till the first sign of yellowing to harvest a "green pod". we have had a couple split open (almost impossible to see it on the bottom) by the time we first noticed ANY yellowing. so some crosses may be ready quite early. there are some charts showing some general timelines for some species of phals, you can googles for em. most of ours have seemed in the 8-10 month range, but we have only harvested like 10 capsules so far, so my opinion is in no way professional or qualified!! keep us posted on your progress!
Thanks for the tour! Beautiful plants!
Thank you, and thanks for stopping in Molly!
I'll be interested to see how your hybrids turn out, looks like one of them is almost ready to bloom. Your gigantea is looking great!
hey Justin! yeah, we like getting new crosses and waiting for the "big reveal"...that is exciting! altho waiting for 3 years is challenging, hahaha!
Hiya, great update, thanks for sharing. Like your phal seedlings! You've got so many. Did you film your seed flasking and deflasking process?
