- The original municipality of Concord included today’s suburbs of Cabarita, Concord, Concord West, Liberty Grove, Mortlake, North Strathfield and Rhodes. Today large industrial sites have been replaced with residential and commercial developments that enjoy their proximity to Parramatta River.

We can’t but note the remarkable number of views our video on Concord has received. This is in comparison with not only Industrial Concord, but also the vast majority of our sixty seven videos on the “History of Suburban Sydney.” Our research into what is happening in Concord that should create this, at present has proved fruitless. Is their something going on in real estate? We certainly didn’t set out to assist such people. Here’s hoping someone can explain. In the meantime we are very pleased to be receiving so many views.
At 12:43 features Henley park at Enfield, not the one in Concord which was dedicated as Longbottom Cemetery. Both are linked to the same Thomas Henley, but the photo use is as stated, incorrect.
We haven’t forgotten your comment, bear with us there are certain challenges in altering a video that is already up, and has a remarkable number of views. In fact We cannot understand what is driving the number of views on Concord at present. If you have any idea we would be very pleased to hear from you. @@stpeterscooksriver1873 The answer to your query regarding this videos popularity is in the detail of the video. However, Concord Golf Club has hosted quite a few Australian and NSW Open tournaments for both men and women, hosting players such as Greg Norman, Nick Faldo and Frank Nobilo. Concord oval is ,despite Australia's loss, the scene of one of the greatest Rugby world cup semi finals in 1987. The Concord repatriation hospital was at one stage the best hospital in Australia and perhaps the entire southern hemisphere. The gas works were a key driver in providing state of the art living to the area , The Mansion at the end of Hospital road provided the back drop for the closing scenes of the Great Gatsby starring Leonardo Di Caprio ,and later was a stones throw away from the Sydney Olympic precinct and the discos at Concord RSL on a Wednesday night were legendary. On a darker side it was home to companies such as Union Carbide that produced Agent Orange for the Vietnam war effort among other things.......The list goes on in regards to its significance in the development of greater Sydney and many new residents are quickly aware of its rich history. I thank you as a former resident in providing an avenue for anyone who is curious to learn, especially the children ,and for putting in the effort to highlight such a wonderful area to grow up in. We would like to hear your views, particularly if you are a resident, employed in the area, or were either of these in the past. Concord’s former industries may attract many males, whose specific interest is industrial heritage. Four out of five of our viewers, according to RUclips statistics are male, but why we ask are you watching?
