@Jake Hudson Same excuse dialogue as EA for their games... Ball physics, cloth simulation, four players model changes, bla bla bla... That's not a reason for purchasing a 60€ game.

Selling the same game since 2015... all sports games in a nutshell.
I mean, let's be real graphics are kinda secondary in a racing game. You won't look at half that shit, so why bother making it _perfect_ for just a comparison.
Look at iRacing, that game is butt ugly, but it doesn't matter because you ain't playing it for the looks.
The real question is whether or not the actual gameplay has been improved. From what we've been told so far the AI is supposedly far better and the driving is at least "different". The Co-op career could be fun for people that have friends, so not me, and maybe some people enjoy the story mode.
It doesn't warrant a full AAA price tag for sure, but saying this is the same game as 2015 is just dumb honestly.
yeah i agree with the german guy, graphics aren't always a must, feel of the car that is changing often is much more important

Slightly better lighting on 2021
Graphically the only improvement is in the lightning, but the gameplay is so great and improves in little but great touches game after game that we should forgive them. A casual gamer (like me most of the times) may not feel the difference since many games ago, but if you add a steering wheel, less assistance from the game, etc, then in my opinion a discussion can begin. I know is a graphic comparison!

I mean, it's been the same engine forever. It's still the EGO engine. You realise an engine can evolve over time, yes? That's like saying Unreal engine is still the same as the first version even though we're up to 5... same as Frostbite engine. It's ever-evolving. They're aren't going to create a new engine even when they do go full next-gen.

Look at the grass and adverts on the right side at the very beggining, i see some huge improvements. Even the road textures.

I don't think we have the same definition of "huge improvements". I think most people would classify this as "slight improvement"

Road and grass textures are better, ambient occlusion is better, rain effects are better, reflections are better, lights are better. But windows are bad as you can see here 1:46. And what is this graphical bug? 5:03 Also i found black is more black in shadows as you see 4:41 it's not looking realistic for me.

The shadows are definitely more realistic in 2021. Objects that are further away have more diffused shadows. People confuse sharper with better here which in this case is exactly the opposite.
Fog in every cirtuit, rain falling vertically at 300km/h, wrong lighting setups vs real hours, plastic look components,...
A massive downgrade in shadows.
I always wonderd tho, how does it feel to be legally blind? Here it looks miles better on my 4k oled.. (2021)
I hate the 'rain on the camera' thing all modern racers do now, I wish they'd get rid of that

it has and it doesnt look good. you can watch the nvidia channel. they fucked up the shadows this year, so they can change that for next year and it looks great again, and the will fuck something else up. cycle repeats.

Codemasters hätte F1 2020 einen Patch verpassen können und so hätte man sich 70.- gespart für F1 2021 .
Vor allem 50 FPS weniger für kaum sichtbare Verbesserung.

F1 2021 for about the same quality of graphics if not worse, takes a 33-50% hit in comparison with F1 2020. What a disgrace !!! I wish they more honest and admitted they are basically offering the same game with F1 2020, adding just a season update plus Breaking Point, and asking for 25-30 euros maximum. EA this year isn't making a great beginning with the series unfortunately. I' m very disappointed.
So it's literally the same game but with story mode ( *Breaking Point* )... Sorry but I ain't spending 68 dollars for that lmao

Reflections on wet asphalt look way better in f12020, at least to my eye.
And shadows
@@Candyland Well I’d disagree. On 2020 it looks like the entire asphalt is under one puddle but in 2021 there are patches of puddles in addition to the wet asphalt.
Same game with better shadows which is especially noticeable in the cars‘ interior and the rainy weather is also more realistic and pleasing with those separated puddles.

Is it just me or are some areas of the car waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too dark when they're in the shadow? The cockpit in the pit is almost completely black except for the highly illuminated stickers. Same on the outside for tires and carbon parts. Such a hit and miss.

I disappointed with F1 2021 are less sparks, no camera flash from spectator, bad lighting change when entering Monaco tunnel, sparks at weird timing. Rainy surface road. Finally own teams car livery are so sad.
Atleast for people who play on console there is a difference on next gen

I was lucky to get f1 2020 when there was a limited time sale for only like 5$ (already included with all dlc bonus 70th anniversary and schumacher edition), when u need to pay like 50$ for newer 2021 game that actually didnt much have a lot improvement (just typical EA games) 🤣

I really wish Nvidia would fix DLSS so that I can get more frames without all the ghosting. I mean, I still get 90+ FPS at 4k, but let's be honest, we always want more.
The antennae on the front of the car goes all wonky on me when I use DLSS. In F1 2020, I would get double images from my side mirrors or see a set of ghosted tires to the side.

Still the Same Copy and paste game engine (EGO 4.0) from 2015 is still in F1 2021! Come on codemasters! Do your Job! Next year when the new 2022 cars arrive we will have an upgraded engine like the RAGE engine from RD2, new characters, various agents and various engineers, instead of the same Jeff Nelson and Emma Jenkins duo since F1 2015 and 2016 and Clare Clements from F1 2018 respectively. Also we need a better damage model like in the F1 2006; 2010-2014 games and laser scanned tracks rather than this stupid carbon copy and paste garbage.
