Its incredibly sad to me that this game is your favorite despite it being a shell of what it was supposed to be and Chucklefish straight up lying to people who bought the game
"Now don't go under the bridge" got a pretty good reaction out of me. Not sure if it was intentional or not, cause it kinda got blown over, but it was still pretty funny
This game is a lot of fun! I haven't played Terraria in quite a while but I'd say you can get a lot more mileage out of Starbound. There's tons of stuff to collect (lots of silly costumes, musical instruments, recipes, furniture, villagers, recruits, fossils, pets, bugs, fish, crops, etc), building a base is a lot more fun than in Terraria, getting NPCs to your place is a lot easier and more varied, and the lore about all the different races is pretty cool (I like little touches like how the player character has different commentary about every single item in the game world depending on your race). That being said, the "grind" on each new planet does get pretty repetitive unless you find a new type of dungeon with cool things to loot, and "basic" npc quests get old fast (the actual campaign is nice, but pretty short). It also has fairly few bosses compared to Terraria.
As a person who has never touched this game but is deeply in love with the soundtrack, it was weirdly thrilling to recognize Cygnus X1 on the forest planet.
caalsinceage4 i usually watch these old gameplays to fall asleep so im usually not lucid, meaning i completely forgot about watching this particular video, but whenever i watched this my half asleep self DID manage to like your comment, and she was a genius to do so, its my new favorite comment
@@Flipsie27 I tried playing this game like 2 years ago and it seems like I was playing it wrong??? or maybe it was advertized differently? idk man, it seemed so cool when i was looking into it but then when i started to play it was so disappointing :( "How to find the fun in S̶t̶a̶r̶d̶e̶w̶ ̶V̶a̶l̶l̶e̶y̶ Starbound"
I'm kind of amazed that anyone can dislike Terraria and yet like this garbage game. Starbound turned me off early access possibly forever. The debs promised a lot and just never delivered.
Here we see the inspiration for the TAZ arc "The Stolen Century"
yooooo i forgot about that!
These McElroy-McElroy Overview videos are splendido.
Polygon, can you pay the brothers to record seven hours of these a day? Thanks
your childhood home phone number really does stick with you forever
Picked up chili seeds and no jokes about that were made
I didn't notice when you pointed it out but this is gonna keep me up tonight
Seeing this 3 year old version of my favorite game is a hell of a trip
yeah, I'd love to see them do an update to this video like they did with rust, the game's changed so much since then

Nicholasryan17 oooo can u give more details on what happened to it and chuckle??!! i haven’t played since this came out lol
@@madame_milky idk about them lying to people, but I did hear about them not paying their employees
@@Nicholasryan17 ooh gimme those hot deets

this is the best review out that new Bethesda starfield game. Universally speaking that is.

I know this was three years ago, but I've never seen Griffin play a game so wrong.

Any one know which mbmbam episode has the origin of them calling each other brothaaa like they do in the start of this video?
I don't think it's a mbmbam thing. I think they were already brothers before the podcast started.
its from metal gear solid

The nonsense of sword bubbles that do damage is really neat. Good balance of the things.
Man. Starbound is No Man's Sky done right, and it came out earlier
i love starbound but it's so disappointing to me that half of the things griffin showed off in this video doesn't exist in the current game anymore
I wish we still had a lot of the old features. I wish I could still obtain the Bonehammer and other unique items.

Justin's RHCP references are so good
Looking back at Early Access Starbound is wild
I cant beleive griffin missed the under the bridge one
Soup for one!
Music is my aeroplane.
Hi-key one of my favorite games ever
do starbound 1.3
2D No Man's Sky but less awful
^_^
Higher Ground, Under the Bridge. Griffin missed quite a few of Justin's gems along the way ;D
Is it as inaccessible as terraria? I played 12 hours that game but I have no idea where I am going.
I'm playing terraria alot, only problem is the game doesn't explain anything. Like the complex crafting or how to bring npcs etc.
