Great video! Just a note, the motor mount is just under the path of the fuel filter. Diesel is harsh, and will eat away at the mount and other hoses. Maybe use a few rags underneath, to stop future headaches? Love your videos, just thought i would add my 2 cents.
Excellent videos. I must say, your fuel lines off the pump look a lot tidier than mine, my one is a spaghetti of oily hoses. A leaking fuel preheated system I’m assuming.
Hello from Portugal. I have a problem in my 250d turbo from 93. The engine oil level has increased and I think is diesel. The pressure don't pass the 2 bars and the temperature rises. The engine make a different noise on the top of engine after a ride . Well my mechanic tell probably is the diesel fuel pump need to be restored and change the internal o-rings. What do you think?
i have a problem on my mercedes w202 where is all the fuellines going from fuelfilterhousing to the pump? om604 ihave changed to mechanicalpump and other fuelfilter from a 601 so idont know where the lines are going
I've got one, old chap. The instruction manual says it's self bleeding, just crank the starter for up to a minute in order to prime. Mine started instantly - even though I don't remember putting fuel in the filter. I think there were a few moments of rough running in the first thirty seconds until all the air was out of the system, from then it ran perfectly. Here's to the might OM602! Huzzah!
You are a treasure. I watch all your video. Very helpful. Short great description. All the necessary details to do the job right.
The 1994 Japanese 300TDT engine no longer starts. I'm thinking of replacing the fuel filter.
It was very helpful.
Thank you very much.

It's a OM603A (Turbo), an you need 22 Nm for the screw on the top of the filter.

I see the bolt has a hole in the side, for fuel to pass through? Does the hole in the bolt need to be oriented toward the fuel line?
Did you find out?
Hi. Do you know if the OM602 engine in the W124 250 D model is equipped with self bleeding system as well? Thanks for the video!
