I'm glad to see you're alive and doing well! Whenever a band I like disappears I always have to wonder, and I loved every track The Silver Comet had to offer.
This album came out the year I was born and I am just now getting into it. I like how it follows the story 'Animal Farm' in terms of its theme (I remember reading that book in high school, but its subject matter is timeless). As for future live concert reactions, I recently came upon 'On the Turning Away' from the 'Delicate Sound of Thunder' tour (1988). It's a post-Roger Waters Pink Floyd song with a decidedly '80s sound, but it's one of my favorite live performances I've seen and it speaks to social issues, as well. Here is the link if you ever want to check it out: ruclips.net/video/xEMy34qhQe4/видео.html
Pigs (Three Different Ones) is the climax of the album, a violent charge against the top of the pyramid, the institutions, the powerful represented by loathsome boars. The caricature of the Soviet leaders in The Animal Farm turns into an allegory of capitalism which devours the world by gorging itself on its profits (1st pig), political power (2nd pig) and the power of controlling thought (3rd pig). Unusual fact about this song is that it's David Gilmour who plays bass.
I love that you appreciate the continuity of albums. (I confess, I'm not that much of a stickler about it, but it's still good to listen to a sequence.) BTW, Syd Barrett had left the band by the late 60s, and, if I remember rightly, Saucerful of Secrets, Pink Floyd's second album, was Syd's last. From there, they made five or so more albums until Dark Side of the Moon (which definitely has Syd in mind in the lyrics), and from there it was off to the races. Love to see you back, sir!
I know I want to be in rolling stone one day, but to get reviewed by them… gotta take those reviews worth grain of salt cause this music SPEAKS! -Parry
Davids been chillin' and just a second later cuts loose. Love it.
That'll happen when pigs fly! Well, they're flying. Love your reactions, Parry.

I loved when you said “David be chillin”, the he busts off on that riff.
Nice job!
Hahaha he was right on cue!!! -Parry

when you do Time from Dark side of the moon and realize how fast 10 years get behind you will be like OH CRAP lol
The crying shame about this song is when the fade out comes at the climax. David at his meanest!! Sheep thats next is my favourite track.
I know he was just getting going!!! Thanks for watching cause I felt the same way! -Parry
it's infuriating as hell that that solo doesn't go on at least another 30s. I go from happy to pissed every time I hear it. 😏
@@flubblert same… same… *presses rewind*

Ohhh thanks for clearing that up!! They def proved themselves as an act without him over the years. What a band!!
Rolling Stone Magazine has long been an insult to good music. Great second reaction. I keep learning more about this song all the time.

Yes, thank you! Can’t wait for you to do the whole album 👍🏼🤗✌🏼
PS - the pig noises are not real pigs. Same on “Dogs.” Figure it out. 🙃
Yes, talk box.
Haha those noises always crack me up but I love the storyline and symbolism. Thanks for watching! More to come…
The politicians
But the first one is dog's and then pigs and sheeps as the last one so lol
Thanks for not pausing it ruins the song❤
Musically not complex? I disagree.
