I love how authentic and practical you are about your collection not being aspirational. I could never have a collection like yours and that's ok! I don't need one. But I hear you on wearing classic scents, I fell in love with Shalimar this year. Is it a bit vintage? Yes, but it is so unlike what is trending right now and I love it.
Girl the sound you used for the name of the perfume popping up gave me a heart attack 🤣 I listen to your videos while driving and I thought I was getting pulled over multiple times 😭😂
Oh, perfume godmother, I have seen your face very often since I play your videos whenever I want to relax! Greetings from Romania and the best wishes to you!
My year was apparently quite vanilla inspired when looking over my most worn list lol: * Orientica - Velvet Gold * Matiere Premiere - Vanilla Powder * Burberry - Goddess (my God do I detest the Intense...) * Paris Corner - Rifaaqat * Swiss Arabian - Shaghaf Oud Tonka * Miller et Bertaux - Menta y Menta * DS&Durga - Deep Dark Vanilla * MFK - Grand Soir * Guerlain - Aqua Allegoria Forte Bosca Vanilla * Guerlain - Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca Totally agree on Shaghaf Oud, beautiful frangrance but nuclear doesn't cover it. Unfortunately No.5 still smells like cat pee to me.
I used to be a makeup artist sometimes choking ppl out is the only way for you to do your job hahahah thanks for all the videos this year. You actually the first RUclipsrs that bring me back to perfume this year :) might be the tattoos, might be the short hair, might be the outrageouslu on theme make ups...who knows and who cares, just so glad you are here 😊
my favorite scent this year was, hands down, Lattafa Liam! If I could only have one perfume in my collection it would be it. Perfect for day and night, good projection and monstrous lasting power.
Oh my gosh, YES!! Seriously, it's one of my faves. So super weird, and I'm not sure if you have it or have smelled it, but I just noticed to day when I was deciding what I was going to wear, that when I smelled Liam and TF Ébène Fumé they smelled almost identical! Maybe my brain was being weird but I walked away and tried it again and, yep, Liam definitely is an extremely close match. I love it so much.😍😍
Dia, No5 and Iris des Champs are all loves mine. Glad to see you branching into these kinds of fragrances. This year I was obsessed with Zoologist Cockatiel, Dusita Fleur de Lalita, Lalique Lalique, Fenty EDP, Nishane Nanshe, Serge Lutens Nuit de Cellophane and Goutal Petite Cherie.
You flung a craving in me and I had to get up and go spray some Patchouli Paris on, ha! Layered it with Feve Gourmand so basically I smell like a smooth hot chocolate. ❤️ To answer your question... when Navitus launched the body sprays I took the plunge and got the Venom of Love. For some reason it got into my brain and I have worn Venom of Love body spray with every cherry scent I have... pretty much any vanilla... I crave it all the time and can barely get myself not to spray it in out of the shower. I smell it on me at the end of a day. I finally bought the fragrance too now, ha! I'm addicted and it's sad because I have so many fragrances and need to spread the love.
Thanks for your intro. I think it's great to set things straight! That said, my aunt gifted me a bottle of Chanel No. 5 for my 16th birthday and I felt like a million bucks wearing it. I am now a post-post-post-post-teen and haven't had my nose on it for the longest. But my favorite 2024 discovery was, by far, Musamam White Intense.
I agree with you about wanting something light sometimes. I love Le Monde Gourmand scents even though I know perfume snobs probably think they're juvenile. La Vie Positano is my go-to and is actually a pretty good dupe for a much more expensive fragrance, Cruz del Sur II by Xerjoff. Whatever blows your hair back.❤
Great video! A new love for me this year that I can't get enough of is Another 13 by Le Labo. I finally purchased it in October and I just can't get enough. I'll layer it over any lotion and the Riddle body oil. Incredible!
I only really got into fragrance this year - I mostly had Flowerbomb and CLEAN Reserve Skin before - so everything seemed to have a gravitational pull on me. But the biggest winner was Commodity Milk Bold. Got it in November during the Sephora sale and I don’t think I have gone a day without wearing it since. On a work from home day, especially, I just spray the hell out of myself and just sniff my skin all day
I have a question: how many fragrances would you recommend a person have, in order to have a nice selection for most occasions? And to answer your question about what perfumes I wore on rotation this year, I have a couple. One that surprised me was The 7 Virtues' Amber Vanilla. I finished a 10 ml travel size and got numerous compliments when I wore it. It has surprising sillage and longevity. The other fragrance I wore in combination in the heat of summer was Skylar's Salt Air with Mix Bar's Coco Palm. My favourite winter scent has been Serge Lutens' L'Orpheline. It smells like a walk around my neighbourhood in Canada in the winter. So evocative! This winter I have also fallen in love with Untamed Perfume's Chocolate Earth. I'm finishing a sample and now need a full bottle.
I've been impressed by Parfum de Marly. I love Althair! Love the professional but approachable. I embraced my love for fragrances this year thanks to you and started my collection! My collection at the moment is Heretic Parfum and Carner Barcelona.
I purchased Versace Dylan Turquoise early in 2024 and I fell in love with it. I rarely like perfumes because they seem to go powdery on me or smell like an elderly woman. I was so grateful to find one I love. 💎 🍊 it’s young and citrusy without being immature and drug-storish.
Ooo you and I are approaching our vintage era together. I gotta try Iris Des Champs. And I think you’d love Iris Medicis Intense from Nicolaï and Nightengale from Zoologist 🥰
I hope you have a fabulous holiday season and a very blessed new year!! I love more vintage fragrances. My grandmother wore Shalimar and anything that reminds me of that goes into rotation. One that surprise me was PdM Athalia. Wouldn’t say it’s a “dupe” but maybe a modern sister/cousin?? I dunno. I’m a novice. Right now I’m heavy into Babycat and Gris Charnel. Both are great in the New England chill.
You turned me on to Lavender Cloud and I adore it! I never would’ve thought it would be for me but I am also anxious and serious and find it so comforting at night.
Thaaaaank you for the Chanel love. That is one of my most worn, most complimented fragrances. I've never been able to understand the poo-pooing of it. I think it's beautiful! Also, if you like clean and non-offensive, give Maison Alhambra Infini Musk a try. I bought that a few weeks ago and cannot put it down! It's the epitome of clean-girl fresh (plus the fact that it's like $30 doesn't hurt either) ❤
Out of 300+ in my collection, I wore Eau Rihla by Diptyque into the ground. It's the perfect layering scent to make any sweet, gourmand or fruity frag feel more sexy and sophisticated. It's amazing on its own as well. Just a perfect balance of bold, sensual, femme energy from the raspberry and confident, smoldering, masculine strength from the leather. I'm completely addicted.
Chanel N5 smells soooo pretty on my mom!! She’s rocked it since the early 90s and it’s a major comfort scent for me. I agree it can smell wildly different on everyone. My most worn fragrances this year were, no question, Mon Guerlain and Kilian’s Good Girl Gone Bad.
Such a good list! I would wear all of them too. I’m with you on Chanel N5. Didn’t like it but I can’t live without EDT and L’ Eau as I am learning and testing more fragrances. I love Le Labo Hinoki body care too. Thanks for putting Neydo Wood Haze on my radar! The worst release this year for me got to be Room 1015 Wave Child. A complete synthetic bomb that I would not even get close to it. Have a happy holiday ❤
Out of all the fragrance reviewers I think you have the closest nose to my own. I’ve been subscribed to you for almost two years now and I have only disagreed with you on one fragrance Oro Verde. I blind bought it on recommendation, but declutterred it. You won me on your correct pronunciation of Va-lay-a. Every time I hear Va-lie-ya, it’s like nails on a chalkboard to me and I tune out. Love your nose & channel keep inspiring us and doing you!❤
An exceptionally good fragrance video. I've watched so many but this one really stands out. Your descriptions, your informing knowledge, your personality and of course-- the intriguing choices of fragrances themselves. I've not tried any of them. I'm burning with curiosity thanks to how you described them all (and your experience with them). The Shaghaf Oud 'warning'-- I responded so viscerally. There really ARE some fragrances that can make you want to chunder if you over spray and I guess, to be direct about it, are difficult to wear. PS= My all time favourite is long gone but oh how I wish Tom Ford would bring Plum Japonais back. That is as close as I've ever found to a 'signature scent'. ❤🔥
Cotton candy, caramel corn, funnel cakes, buttery popcorn, etc.... I was obsessed with the fair/carnival/boardwalk type of vibe this year. I stuck with indie houses and was not disappointed. Perhaps not "sophisticated" but I enjoyed the heck out of myself.
You make me want to try Lavender cloud! I’m also pretty picky with lavender! I like lush sleepy body mist :) not for everyday, but from time to time! It’s pretty potent
@ funny that I’m 97’s girl I grew up smelling Britney Spears and escapada fruity scents now all I want is Grandma Perfumes👀😂♥️♥️♥️ty for the recommendation!
Hi Olivia, I also love Valaya for the same reasons you do. Another one that provides the same feeling . and that is still different, but clean and elegant is: Tilia from Marc Antoine Barroise (same nose Q.Bisch). Do you know this one? I think you would like it :) BTW I am also team Guidance (original) LOL My favorite rose/oud is Epic Woman, it is strangely clean and regal, so good!
My most worn perfumes this year has to be Amber perfume oil from Nemat, the roll on from Ulta. I got my second bottle, along with Vanilla Musk. I get headaches too and like a good skin scent, along with something very gourmand and sweet.
Eden Sparkling Lychee makes me feel happy my daughter loves it on me so I’ll always love it for the association of good feelings. I also have three bottles. 😂
Thanks Olivia for your great list. A few i have on my to get list, and now going to add phlur to that list 😅. This year for me has been Odenaturae by Rubini. Just loved that sent, unusual, sensual and cosy. If you haven't tried it, please sample. Would love to know your take on it.
I’m a light sprayer also, so it takes a super long time for me to make any dents lol. I don’t want to assault people’s noses just because I enjoy perfume.
Agree with you Guidance vs Guidance 46. But I stayed with Dia, first one. Patchouli Paris dissapointed me, as I’m a big lover of Guerlain’s L’Art et La Matiere line.
Oh, I can’t pick one! The new perfume that I fell in love with is Sunnamusk Golden Dust. The House I fell in love with is ROGUE PERFUMERY IN PARTICULAR: Jasmin Antique Champs Lunaries Tuberose & Moss In particular But the $45 dollar discovery set is PHENOMENAL and GORGEOUS Itty bitty glass bottles with steel rollerballs. Worth it Obviously because I purchased the aforementioned trio!
The only reason why I clicked this video was because I saw DBR in the thumbnail 😂 I remember you saying it was boring and I was like yes, finally someone agrees. But man.. I have been wearing the Bath and Body works dupe & I like wearing it when I don’t want to overthink my fragrance. I looove bringing out the praline note. It’s not my favorite by any means, but I understand the hype.
My favorite fragrance purchase of the year: Les Eaux Primordial Iris Palladium. The fragrances I reached for the most: Henry Rose Windows Down, Fog & Last Light. Btw, I love Iris fragrances, I just impulse bought Iris Des Champs. 😊
Have you tried "Cremelle" by Pearlescent (Gallagher) or "Nearly Noon" by Define Me, which features Stephanie from Sniff with Steph? I love my Guidance sisters, and some of my most complimented fragrances in the niche category are the G Sisters, Flamenco, Atomic Rose, and Lune Feline Extrait. Interestingly, with Guidance, some people get oddly close to me-I'm not a spring chicken!
Le sel D’Issey by Issey Miyake was a recent smell and immediate purchase of mine! It smells so fresh and like as if you took a swim and the water is lingering on your skin, it’s one of the best aquatic scents I’ve tried and almost leans a cucumber-ish smell! It’s very simple but divine and I LOVE IT
I have about 75 fragrances and the dents are minimal. But the fragrances with the most denty-dents are Another13, Silky Woods, Glossier You, Mon Guerlain, Green Stravaganza & most of all, Musk Therapy ❤❤❤
How dare you disparage patchouli!😍😍, Love, love, love me some patchouli. I'm definitely drawn to more earthy scents. Especially if they are a little sweet. Vetiver, cedar wood, patchouli, oak moss, palo santo, woody oud, grass. Yes, ma'am.
Lovely collection. Loved your descriptions. I have a question, what is that note in Carmina that smells like a leather jacket? or a tannery, or walking into a leather good shop? I cannot stand that smell and it is in soooo much lately. It's in Diptque's L'eau Papier, it's in YSL's Babycat, it's in Fragrance Du Bois's Minuet et demi and soooo many others, It ruins scents for me. Do you know what it is and why it's not mentioned in scent descriptions?
I didn’t try many new perfumes this year but I will go with Kayali Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar 42 as best release and Afternoon Delight by Replica as the worst release of 2024. Also, I am not sure if this is a new perfume but I discovered Amber Vanilla by The 7 Virtues and it’s the perfect “your skin but better” scent for me.
For some reasons, I really gravitated towards soapy elegant perfumes such as Gold from Amouage, Hermès Twilly, or even un Jardin a Cythère. This year, I had an aversion for Oud and couldn't enjoy any of my perfumes that smelled like it even in the background.
My coworkers say I smell cozy and I like that but it's weird because my most used fragrances have been all over the map. Some definitely fit that bill but others not so much but maybe on my skin they start to read cozy and those are just my vibes. So mine have been 1. Snif Sweet Ash (used a whole bottle, onto my second), 2. DedCool Milk, 3. YSL Libre (that was a surprise for me), 4. Replica From the Garden (again, goes weirdly cozy and used up a travel and 1oz bottle), 5. SDJ Cheirosa 59 (bedtime coziness), 6. Donna Born in Roma Rendez-vous The Gold. With all the amazing scents in the world, I really don't think I could have a signature scent. Depending on the day, the mood, the time... just so many options!
I wish I could wear my harder fragrances to the office! Two stand out. One is called Bulletproof by Tokyo Milk Dark. It took me FOREVER to find this scent after Sephora discontinued it. ( they discontinued my favorite in the line called Novocane and I mourn it!) secondly Commodity Velvet. This one is passable for work but a very rich scent.
It’s Classic. I will never not have it on the roster!
Girl the sound you used for the name of the perfume popping up gave me a heart attack 🤣 I listen to your videos while driving and I thought I was getting pulled over multiple times 😭😂

I’m not interested in judging anyone’s dent, I just want to know what’s good.
LOL! Good to know.
Oh, perfume godmother, I have seen your face very often since I play your videos whenever I want to relax! Greetings from Romania and the best wishes to you!
My year was apparently quite vanilla inspired when looking over my most worn list lol:
* Orientica - Velvet Gold
* Matiere Premiere - Vanilla Powder
* Burberry - Goddess (my God do I detest the Intense...)
* Paris Corner - Rifaaqat
* Swiss Arabian - Shaghaf Oud Tonka
* Miller et Bertaux - Menta y Menta
* DS&Durga - Deep Dark Vanilla
* MFK - Grand Soir
* Guerlain - Aqua Allegoria Forte Bosca Vanilla
* Guerlain - Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca
Totally agree on Shaghaf Oud, beautiful frangrance but nuclear doesn't cover it. Unfortunately No.5 still smells like cat pee to me.

❤ yesss I saw someone do this on instagram I think it’s so fun! She chose different categories it’s so helpful!! Please do this every year lol
Someone described Valaya as bug spray?! Cannot relate. I think it’s stunning and yes she does last! Received a compliment every day I’ve worn it!

I fell in love with Mystic Bliss by Coldfield & Banks this year! Got a full bottle during holiday sales 😁

My favorite too commodity Milk is awesome
YSL Paris. such beautiful white floral. not many people wear it nowdays. it stands out as easy, beautiful, feminine office friendly fragrance to me.
This year I've leaned into easy reach and more aromatic fragrances - not every occasion needs to have me rocking Black Orchid or Libre Intense.

I am so into aldehidic and vintage fragrances lately...I learned to appreciate them. Merrry Christmas Olivia and your hubby! 🎉❤❤🎅🎄🎁
I would LOVE to see a video on heretic perfum. So many look so interesting and I can’t find much on their stuff. Plus I trust you!!
You turned me on to Lavender Cloud and I adore it! I never would’ve thought it would be for me but I am also anxious and serious and find it so comforting at night.

Thanks Olivia! Best release - Oro Verde.

My faves for Vintage that Rocks: Chanel #5 Arpege EDP 4711 OG & Evening in Paris... always come back to these
Ahhh Guidance. I love this and my partner loves it on me. But damn the people around me does not 😅
It Gorgous ❤
Great list! I’m an optometrist and have to tone it down at work too.
This sounds like the cirq du soliel purfume that came out. It smells so unique and fun.
Guidance definitely was my best new perfume this year .
You make me want to try Lavender cloud! I’m also pretty picky with lavender! I like lush sleepy body mist :) not for everyday, but from time to time! It’s pretty potent
I’m sad that it hard to get being frenshe in Canada :(
So glad you said This is not aspirational for average people!!!
Dare I say I neeeed more of vintage recommendations?😮❤
Try Bandit. My mom wore it in the 50’s and very few know about it now. It’s a very interesting scent that you’ll either love or hate.

Love house of 8. I’m always saying it’s underrated. It’s their most niche smelling and very unisex
Gonna try them❤

Beau de Provence from Fragonard and Osmanthus from Molinard.❤

This year I feel in love with Guerlain Habit Rouge Parfum and Rose Amira
For some reasons, I really gravitated towards soapy elegant perfumes such as Gold from Amouage, Hermès Twilly, or even un Jardin a Cythère. This year, I had an aversion for Oud and couldn't enjoy any of my perfumes that smelled like it even in the background.
Nice collection ❤
I love Devotion on my skin and also Musk Mood from Lattafa, it melts on my skin, a clean luxurious soap
Lovely review greetings from the Netherlands
I like all the products
Yep Old School is still Good 💯
I miss the fragrance notes in the top right corner. They’re so so helpful!
I love Iris des Champs. Is it a better iris than Hermes' Hiris?
Beautiful
Great video
Lovely❤❤❤❤❤
Nice video 💗💗
I wish I could wear my harder fragrances to the office! Two stand out. One is called Bulletproof by Tokyo Milk Dark. It took me FOREVER to find this scent after Sephora discontinued it. ( they discontinued my favorite in the line called Novocane and I mourn it!) secondly Commodity Velvet. This one is passable for work but a very rich scent.
Nice video ❤❤
Hey❤have you tried neydo blonde redhead ? I havent yet but heard ots interesting, and is the iris des champs by houbigant? It sounds nice!
