Thanks for making these videos. Very inspiring to someone who always loved to cook.
Also it is the weather... You're correct it's intoxicating!
[StarMuse] Personality, enjoy you talkin rather than music during your taping! Your camera work & editing is amazing. I would love to see you shopping for groceries, equipment you feel is worth having too!
I agree. Prefer the talking.
Would love to see more of these style of videos. Your longer style videos are so nice to watch while I’m cooking myself
Yes, like the longer ones also.
Creating a video of the bare necessities would be cool! I enjoy the behind the scenes. Maybe more of the cooking process too
Hey Eric! I'm a personal chef as well and enjoy watching your content! I'm in Rhode Island and do many weekend dinner parties but they seem to be mostly bachelorette services! Newport RI is a hot spot for some reason?!? And AiaB&B rocks this! I understand that different market areas bring different fee's... My weekday job is doing a weekly dinner drop-off service or meal prep, as they call it now. It is my main source of income and I do very well with that. I can't take on more families for most of the time because I'm at my limit. However, I really enjoy dinner party services to showcase a great experience. I would like to know how the left coast compares to the right coast in terms of cost, expenditures, and profit. (if you're comfortable with that!). And on a side note; it sounds like we started about the same time frame... I started my biz in 2010-ish. Keep up the great work! Peace~
Thanks so much. Feel free to hit me up on IG and we can chat more about the ins and outs of the business.
I will tell you that you’ll miss the beach when you move to Vegas. I’ve found a quick trip to Lake Mead helps me with that longing for that calm feeling you get staring at the water.
Has lake Mead gone back up yet? I hope so, ive not heard any other news about it lately. A friend use to send me
Pictures of them on their boat all the time there.
Yes, it is worth staying here in California. The weather is amazing. There is so much natural beauty. Despite all the issues that California has, this place is amazing.
I used to work at a hospital in the neighboring town of Encinitas. I met a lot of patients who all had the same story as to how they ended up in that area, "I came her on vacation one year, and I loved it so much I decided to stay." On the other hand, I also met quite a few family members visiting their elderly parents from out of town who had grown up there. When I'd ask them why they left, a common answer was, "the tourist all came on vacation and never went home."
I’m a hit or miss home cook but I love the creativity. I love watching your videos… even though the thought of cooking an elegant dinner for six scared me, lol
I'm from Texas too... Have been in Los Angeles for 25 years. Let me tell you... It's worth it. 100%
Love the video dude. And the video quality is fire keep it up
Appreciate it!
Roberto's carne asada burrito is the absolute best in our opinion. We lived in Encinitas for 12 years and loved it there. Used to do beach dives for lobster. We sold our house and moved to another state because of jobs and have regretted it ever since.
Thanks for sharing your experience! My wife just took over a personal chef business at the beginning of this month here in the northern Virginia area. We are excited and looking forward to providing this service. She really lights up when talking about it... It's the business side of things that we are working through at the moment. I just subscribed to your channel and looking forward to learning what we can from you. You said it's mostly word of mouth, but interested in hearing more about the business side of things as well from your channel. Thanks again!
I think your best advertisement has always been word of
Mouth, no matter what the business. I say thst because I grew up in small business and had my own.
San Diego has a creamy dreaminess. Making you feel like your being wrapped in a warm blanket. I love it there.
Looking forward to future vlogs! Love your style and down-to-earth commentary. Keep up the good work!
Actually I love your videos tho. Your very down to earth. You don't have to cus and throw things to be entertaining. Just a mellow guy. Cool😊and pretty cute. LOL
A lot of chefs get too caught up in restaurants, from experience, start cooking for small dinner parties of friends until you get comfortable. Just be aware you will get hooked quick and will realize you can make way more money doing private parties than you would in a resturant and have twice the amount of fun! Make a name for your self!
Great videos Eric. Very inspiring. Keep it going!
It's a powerful message, enjoy the videos. I'd like to see more videos where you prep the food before you cook.
Yes love it ❤. A world I never knew exsisted
I have to ask - which sous vide appliance are you using? I really hope you post more detailed videos of recipes. Wish you were closer. Good luck in SoCal!
I enjoy watching your videos! The music and you talking is totally up to you, either way I would/do enjoy it.
I just found you and love your Videos!
You are very good at this. Keep going!
Yes to the music my hero!!!
Great videos! Keep it going. Very inspiring with a great personality.
Love everything you do. You have a great attitude.
I can't believe you are at Vallarta's! Walking distance from my house. I didn't see any of V's signature red sauce (which is actually orange-ish)Yea, crazy high cost of living here but oh the coast.
I lovvveee the music!!
I just wanted to say...I so VERY MUCH appreciate that you turned the camera off while driving! It makes me so nervous when creators record while driving. Like...Pay attention to the road!!! You are the first that I've seen to do that! Thank you! You earned my sub just for that! Also...I'm a chef and I love cooking lol.
Those tacos look delish! You should also try Taco Mesa in Southern CA. Yummy!!!
Funny as I had been thinking about re-training back in the UK to refine my cooking skills st a well known. Olmert school in Ireland. I’m a Brit living in Mexico and am thinking about how to earn a living here. I’m a foodie and love to cook. Living in the boo docks really raises yr game if you want to eat as you did in London or Paris. I’ve nailed Mozzarella making etc etc.
Do more videos very interesting❤😊
I live in San Diego and it is wonderful here.
Please can you do video on what you need to start a personal chef career. In terms of equipment and all
On the list of videos to make
Licensed Massage Therapist here - Your neck ROM is not good, sir! You need to invest in yourself and get a massage (more than one), please!💆🏻♂️ Also, LOVE your content, new subscriber and thoroughly enjoying your humor too. Thanks so much for sharing your life!
Stay tuned don't normally stayed tuned in to food.
But, personally, specially about, you are the "yo-yo" to the "bout are rock".
Are, an most neatest person willow.
Live long, stay healthy and safe. ❤❤❤
No to the music, put I enjoy watching your food preparation followed up by seeing the end product. If you continue your music i fully understand…..it is your show. 😊
Hello. New sub here. Love your videos. What’s the name of the song that is playing when you started cooking?
I live in So Cal, and I can tell you California is not a place to stay to make money. As you mentioned, rents are too high, gas is too high, taxes are too high. It's no longer a business friendly (or resident friendly for that matter) state. Government incompetence is what has fueled the great exodus of business from California. In my opinion it's not worth it to barely break even because the weather is nice.
It does sound lonely. I'd want to share this all with someone. The traveling and meeting people, the great food. Thats should all be shared with someone special.
Misfits are comfortable in their solitude. That’s their USP.
I feel you😊
I enjoy your video. You weren't over the top. And you talked to us not as us. Aka using terms we might not understand keep being chill😊
Did u ever try Trejo taco,s? They are in San Diego I believe and I hear they are slammin! I’m in New York so it’s word of mouth only
Let us know please
❤
I am interested in the brand of sous vide machine you use. There are all different prices from $80 to $600. What would you suggest?
Ooo did you do the video on the bare bones equipment list?!
Please yes a video on what you like to bring for a cooking mandate
I'm in the Houston TX area and trying to figure out how to get clients that will pay.
Wow! Houston has , traditionally, had plenty of wealth! Maybe they all bbq when they entertain (?). 🤠
Is there such a thing as a personal baker? I would love to work with the chef doing all of the baking and pastry stuff I just really don't want to have to make dinner every night lol.
Glad you are getting work out there.
Maybe take us around vegas showing places to eat. Just everyday good food places and then some fancy ones or well known ones at some point. I watch “all you can vegas ”- check them out. Might be good for long video/monetization journey . Just trying to help.
I mean… since you’re there. So many look at videos of places to go when there. Would be good to have a chef review.
Carlsbad is our favorite place! (To visit)
Good videos!
Eric, I lived in Florida for 26 years, Ohio for 4 years, Alabama for 1 before I moved to LA for 17 years. Hubby and I left LA 5 years ago to get out of the smog, traffic and people. We loved San Diego and would drive down from LA just to bike the strand on Coronado island for the afternoon. Finally one trip we were having dinner and said to ourselves, "if we love coming here so much, why don't we just move here?" So we did. San Diego does have the most perfect weather, traffic is a breeze compared to LA, the air is cleaner, we are closer to Mexico, the beaches are clean, and the pace of life is just calmer. The May-gray, June-gloom thing is about the only thing I don't like about this county but, it's SoCal coastal and that's just how the climate is on the Pacific coast. There's good enough reason to pay such high rent when the quality of life is so nice. I hope SoCal keeps you here.
how did you get into being a personal chef?
I just found you. You are fascinating to watch. I'm not a chef in any way shape or form, but I do enjoy watching you but I do agree with one of the other comments. The music you could leave out not enjoyable for me
Will you be ok being away from friends and family. Locations are great but human interaction is priceless.
I’ve been on my own since 15 and haven’t had family around me since then. I’ve been on my own and I’ve been traveling for the past 30 years. Things like family and home aren’t luxuries that I get to have.
I wish i could come and assist you for every dinner Chef.
What’s your cost?
What would be a great way to start in a small town?
I’ll do a video or a short on this. Great question.
I love it 😎😎 your coking is great to watch and learn!!!
Love San Diego area, but it’s definitely way too expensive to live I’m sorry, but Newsome has run that stayed into the ground. 🧐
I live in so cali.
Does every video start with Jaylikethealphabet and I have not noticed or is this episode just extra ballin'?
How did you walk into a set up kitchen?
With my legs and feet. 😐
But seriously, I don’t understand your question. I set the kitchen up then start filming. I’m a one-man show and can’t film every aspect. Is that what you mean? I’m seriously trying to understand.
@@CulinaryMisfits Maybe it seems mundane to you. But maybe for some viewers they would like to how you set up a kitchen in a new location. Is there a fixed routine each time. Showing what equipment and tools you are carrying around with you right now.
Really liked that intro music. Who's the artist?
What does a personal chef charge? Funny that you seem to not be at your hotel in the morning after. 😅 Did one of the ladies invite you for a sleepover? 😂😂
Is the backgroundud8c Tom McDonald?
Eric, Life is full of the unexpected as you know 😊If it feels good than do it! Maybe invest in a campervan😊 You can travel and stay where you want. You're talented!! Just Go for it! No matter where it leads.
No, thanks. Camper van sounds like hell. I’ll just keep living under a roof, like I prefer.
Only visitors think California is decent enough to stay. Everyone else is so eager to get out.
I stay in Cali because all the costs are worth it. Cali is literally like no other place in the world.
LOVE IT!
nope your doing great
Digging the Christian rap
God bless Texas California ain't worth it
Music irritating enough to make me stop video!!
Remember they have earthquakes.
love your channel, dislike RAP, spoils everything
Change the music to something more mellow and exotic like Spanish or something. Otherwise great job
Not a great song choice imo, something calmer would be better
it's so sad- this American cooking - people obviously get satisfied about poor cooking. don't misunderstand me - good cooking - but for a private chef...? people, so do I understand -order most of the time in the us or buy precooked meal- very strange for a European, we cook at least once a day.
I like your videos but not watching you eat. Just saying…
Sounds like a lonely life.
