Thanks for the info. This sounds like a good fit for me. I've actually been working with clients with the Training For Warriors platform designed by Martin Rooney. I've been studying the NASM certification for like two years, and just don't feel confident on passing the proctored exam. Franky, after training clients for over seven years, I actually find about 50% of the NASM curriculum is stuff I don't even use.
This is a great video, I did want to say in California most commercial gyms I’ve worked in as a PT they require the NCCA accredited one. Idk if it’s just a California thing but I got hired at Equinox in NYC and they said I needed the accredited certification.
Great option for me! I tried pass in 2020 I tried ace and Affa, I been in t industry for more than 20 years and a piece of paper doesn’t define as a good trainer or not ! My main language is Spanish and there are def some tricky questions that I might don’t get and ai fail so thanks to Nasm for giving this option!!
A portion of ANY money owed should go to JOE and his business. I wish I had heard of him b4 I paid NASM bc I would travel to FL just to take your course. I’ve learned 100% more from your videos and links than NASM $1000 book 🙄
Thanks for the breakdown Coach Joe. I was wondering what the true difference was. I’m still so confused on what the better option for me is. Although I’m ready to gain experience in the field and start getting my feet wet, I really want that accredited cert the next time around. Thank you for explaining this!
@@Axiomfitnessacademy I am just discovering this video a few days before both exams expire. Unless the accredited one expires after, in which i don’t know at the moment but i am pretty sure they both expired the same day
So can we choose the option A and after gaining the confidence we can go for option B but do I have to again enroll and pay the fee for taking the proctored exam.
You can take both exams with no additional fee as long as you still complete the proctored exam within the time period that NASM granted you at purchase.
I'm confused as well. I just bought the elite membership and see non proctored and protected exams. If I do the NP exam do I still receive the physical copy and myself a NASM cpt ? I'm very confused
Passing the NP will provide you a certificate. It will not be accredited, however. Many gyms/employers will request that a trainer holds an accredited certification - which means passing the proctored exam.
I would assume that the test are similar, considering that they are from the same material. Is the only major difference just that the proctored exam is from memory and studying as opposed to notes or whatever else
I just took this because I saw it but didnt really know what it was. I was doing it for practice. I didnt know it was something that was this legit and gave you a certificate 😂. I got 90% .
Studying and passing an exam doesn't translate to real-world results or success, so if you're business savvy and already have experience programming and coaching, it seems that either option should be fine. The outcomes a trainer will experience in their career goes far beyond this exam. For most people, it's just a mark on their resume.
I appreciate the way you explained about that topic , I have a query if I completed Nasm personal training certificate (non proctored exam ) , Will I have a chance to take Nasm certified personal trainer( NCCA proctored exam ) Again?

This is the case in most markets across the country. Accredited is really the way to go.
Am excited about this I’ve studied all the material of ACE and AFFA and I fail both

Alicia, we always recommend taking both versions of the exam since there is no downside to doing so.
@@Axiomfitnessacademy thank you for the tip! I’m definitely going to give this a try and see what’s it’s like!
@@AliciaWilldid you ever take the test? And how was it

Do you have to pay to take the proctored one after taking the non- proctored one?
No, both exams should be included in your NASM registration.

Could you take the non proctored all 3 times or will it stop once you pass it whether it be the first or second ?
I believe that once you pass, you won't be able to access it again.
I work at 24hr fitness, I passed the NP exam and they said they don’t accept the PT certificate
Better get on to the proctored one then!

Yes. It is also commonly reported that the language in how the questions are asked is different as well.
So if you take the non proctor exam and pass… are you called a “certified” personal trainer?
NASM hasn't really made that clear.

@Axiomfitnessacademy really!? I honestly am so nervous. I did schedule it for next Wednesday. Thanks for the encouragement.
Just went to take my test and nobody showed up in the proctor exam!!! So frustrating
I'm sorry to hear that!
Will I still receive a physical copy of a Certification if I take the Non-Proctored option or does it only apply to the accredited exam?
I believe that you will receive a physical certificate with the NP exam.
@@Axiomfitnessacademy Awesome! Thank you so much. Great video!
