I dont care what you all think. People like Steve Vai or Ygmie Malmsteen can shred and had spiritul guitar sounds. But when it comes to Ace Frehley nobody can talk shit. He inspired so many good guitar players. And were just gonna let some imposter Tommy Thayer take over HIS outfit and place. Im tired of people talking shit about Ace. I mean seriously shut up. For all the people saying he messed up because he couldn't see on account of the smoke, didn't he have that to deal with when he was in KISS? I would add that the recording quality didn't sound so good to me, but Ace doesn't have a KISS-level budget for that sort of thing, so I won't rag on him for that aspect. As for the talk about a KISS tribute out there with Gene and Paul in it, think back on your KISSTORY. Gene and Paul have been KISS since day 1, Ace and Peter were hired hands from the beginning but were given more than just paychecks because even as hired hands, they help found the band and make it successful.
I have always been an kiss fan, especially an ace fan. That was the guy that made me wanna start to play guitar, a real hero for me since a was a kid. But honestly guys this perfomance sucked. I thought it was a joke at first, what happened to this man. He needs to go home and practice, thats for sure. But yes, Ace rocks! :)
Yeah it sounded like he didn't rehearse it and just winged it from memory of maybe fooling around with the song a few times in the past. If he would have rehearsed it like most guitarist do I'm sure he would have nailed it.

He learned about two and a half boxes around the pentatonic scale and never went beyond. He was very fortunate to get in with Kiss and he had the break all beginner players dream of.He better be grateful for his fame. That performance was friggen painfully hilarious.
@@lcircus2752 I do see a good person in him.It does bother me for some reason to see all the comments comparing him to the greats .Kiss was a fun band to watch, but there is no way in hell Ace played all those album cuts. .We might as well say Yoko Ono was another Christina Aguilera. Thanks for your come back Circus.

Yes, it was sloppy, as originally posted by us, but there were factors as well.. Did you happen to notice that he had to pull the top pickup "cover" out, because it warped and hit the strings
That top pickup “cover” was clearly just a sticker covering the hole that the smoke comes out. It had a pull tab on it to make it easier to pull off. Lol

We turned up his music real loud, we gave him thumbs up and he smiled at us. We were kids all over again.
@Vincent Junio Actually, that was rather very good. Was hoping he wouldn't try to copy JimiHendrix's version, with all the feedback and stuff and he didn't. He kept it tight. To each their own I guess. lol.

DAMN!! The most patriotic since Jimi Hendrix’s version to start the day at Woodstock!(And the great man Hendrix was a veteran! He was in the US Air Force!).
Buddy, the National Anthem (Star Spangled Banner) is always open to the interpretation of the artist as "freedom of expression". The original script writing by Francis Scott Key left plenty of room in the chord structures for ad-libs. The song is based off of a tavern drinking song that had absolutely nothing to do with patriotism. Whenever you were singing it and messed up the lyrics, you took a drink, so people missed lyrics on purpose so they could drink more. Key said of it "not everyone drank from the same kind of mug" and "I saw different forms of patriotism in every pub and tavern I visited. So thus, I intended in the song."... ✌️😉
