The band just supported him but deep down they of course figured they realistically it wouldn’t work even though none of them ever said it. One day he asked them all to come in and they watched as he completely did a song. The entire band was in tears by the end. Even today Rick Allen has done a bunch of work for Wounded Warrior encouraging amputees….
Yeah Def Leppard is a great hard rock band. I was waiting for you to notice the drummer, the clips of the band members were changing too quickly but i was sure you were going to see him at some point. Such a cool move to keep the drummer and adapt their sound :)
It was "Deaf Leopard" when singer Joe Elliott drew posters of an imaginary rock band... when he met members of the local band Atomic Mass, he suggested a new name from his posters. They liked the name, and the drummer (at the time) Tony Kenning changed the spelling to 'Def Leppard'... only later did they notice it was similar to Led Zeppelin.

Rick Allen lost his arm when he was 21 in a horrific car accident. He joined Def Leppard at 15. They refused to get another drummer, staying by his side as he healed and re-taught himself to play. He has a special drum kit in which his left pedal would emulate what his left arm could do.
5:32 - I've been a fan of DL since their early days (Yes I'm old - 60 now) - My daughter was brought up hearing my DL tapes and CDs in the car when she was a kid. She was in her teens during the mid/late 90s when all the teen girls were into Boyzone, Take That, and other 90s boy bands. Her also..... BUT... her teenage popstar crush was Def Leppard lead singerJoe Elliott.
Epic reaction as always Rick Allen the drummer was in a car accident and lost his left arm so over a period of months while he was recuperating they came up with the idea of using drum trigger pedals to replicate the sound of a full drum kit using his left foot
Good reaction vid again, Hannah. The song you were thinking of in the beginning is "I love Rock'n'Roll" by Joan Jett. (There are thousands of covers of this song, literally... Originally it is from a band named "The Arrows", but the Joan Jett version made it famous.) Yeah, Def Leppard did not want another drummer after he had this bad car accident. It was not too bad to let the left foot trigger of the e-drum-set trigger a snare drum sound instead of a bass drum or hi-hat, but it took quite some time to accommodate to the new playing style, and the band gave him this chance to stay in the band. Which is adorable, because nowadays a band in this position most probably would continue with a "hired gun" pro instead. But they had a loyal fan base and were already among the big players, so they could afford doing so and it worked out. People often misunderstand the factors of long-time success in this business, and one is to be very good friends within the band, closer than natural family, so you don't split up sooner or later because of jelousy, money, personal differences and similar stuff ... so it was for sure a good decision.
It's not just that they didn't want another drummer, they said that if Rick couldn't play again, then Def Leppard would be done as well. They all agreed to stop recording and touring without their man Rick. That's not just the spirit of music, that is true love and brotherhood right there. He's also been an ambassador and inspiration for disabled musicians all over the world. You have to wonder though just what he would be capable of nowadays with both arms.
They still tour! They are my sister's fav band. I bought front row seats for us a couple of years ago. I liked them but left absolutely loving them!! We are in a live video on here. They had a tour scheduled but cancelled due to covid. This band had it hard. Lost the guitarist Steve, he passed away. Then Rick, the drummer, was in a car accident and lost one arm. His nickname is Thunder God! If they tour again...see them!
This was from a 1988 tour... concerts r set up w/ a stage at the end of a venue. Def Leppard opted to set up a stage at the center of the arena on that tour an the band could work the crowd "in the round" ... Also, drummer Rick Allen lost his arm in a car accident in late 1984... so he used an electronic drum set to play his beats w/ 1 arm & 2 feet. He went back to a regular kit w/ electronics back in 1996 til today 🤘🤘🔥
Actually the singer Joe Elliott drew that before the band even existed. And then Tony kenning the first drummer suggested they change the spelling to make it look sort of like led Zeppelin.
I have watched them twice.. as recently as 2019 .. They are awesome live! .. Btw .. this footage is from the "In The Round" concert in Denver in Feb 88 .. The drummer Rick Allen lost his left arm in a car crash 4 years ago so had a custom drumset built by Simmons which helped him replace what his left arm would play with at least 8 foot pedals .PS - "I Love Rock n Roll" was sung by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts in 82.
4 years prior to the 1988 show. Not *exactly* four years as his accident was NYE 1984 or early 1985. They reattached his arm but it got infected. Ironically, had it been a success he still might not have had full use of it and who knows where he'd be now. Losing it for real forced him to reconfigure things.
Rick Allen the drummer, lost his left arm in a car accident, when he was only 21 years old. He was close to depression, but his group said that no one would replace him, and they waited for him until he could recover and learn to play again. True loyalty and friendship.
This song became a huge radio hit only after a bunch of Florida strippers started dancing to in strip clubs. Then it started getting requested on radio, then went nuclear. They shipped 450,000 copies of 'Hysteria' in ONE DAY because of the popularity of this song.
I loved your reaction to this one. After Rick Allen's wreck, the story of how he was able to return to the band is pretty epic. And just so you have some context, "pour some sugar on me" is an expression from the old American south. It simply means "Gimme a kiss, darlin'." They are a British band, so I dont know what inspired them to use this expression for a song except maybe Mutt Lange's(their old producer) influence.
That moment where there's a good solid shot of Rick Allen's left side, I could see it: the realization that you never saw any drum hits with his left hand all concert, and there's a very good reason why...
You spoke about how this was a great concert; when they made this video for Pour Some Sugar on Me and their next video Armageddon It, it was during their Hysteria tour of 1988. The footage compiled for those videos would also be shown for the VHS release of Def Leppard in concert called “Def Leppard: In the Round - In Your Face”. I think you can find clips of that show here on YT.
Hi Kitty. Yes, Rick Allen lost his left arm in a car accident. The seat belt severed it during the impact. His determination and story in general is a lesson to be learned.... Never quit doing what you love to do, even in moments like these you CAN prevail. Rick Allen is living proof!! Try a reaction to "Animal" official music video, you'll get to appreciate his performance and get a few better shots of him playing. His drum set was designed by him and D-Drum as he attempted to continue playing after the accident. His arm was surgically attached at first but it got infected so they gave him antibiotics and other medicines to keep it from getting worse. Unfortunately his body kept rejecting it and they had to remove it permanently. Here's the link to "Animal" ruclips.net/video/ecFPU--vvf0/видео.html and their killer ballad, if you're into that, "Love Bites" ruclips.net/video/W4XiSFyYRE8/видео.html Pick one.... Or both. 😉 Thank you for the video, reaction and comments. Stay safe and stay blessed. 😊❤🤘🤘
This is truly very inspiring! The perseverance and patience to recover and adjust is really remarkable. Also the loyalty of his band mates is touching :') Thank you for this detailed comment, I learned a lot! I really appreciate it, as well as the suggestions! 😍💗😘
@@GiddyKitty Any time. One more thing... Loyalty, funny you said that. The band wanted nothing to do with the decision of whether he stayed or not, they all agreed they would leave that up to him. ❤
Kind of funny. I'm guessing that everyone that is aware of Rick Allen only having only one arm...we were collectively trying to figure out how long it would take until you noticed. And while it took you a while to get there, we were not let down. That moment..."Yep, she just noticed!" Two more things. 1. Now you'll need to go back and check out Photograph...to see when the drummer when he had both arms. Besides, it's a good tune...and was the song that got me into the band. 2. The guitarist, Phil Collen (not to be confused with the singer Phil Collins), you should check out some recent pictures of him. He has the physique of someone much younger. It's astonishing how well he currently takes care of himself. Though, there was a period of time where he was part of "the terror twins" with the other guitarist in the group...and didn't take such good care of himself. Two more bonus items. 3. Speaking of the other guitarist in the group...Steve Clark...tortured soul...ended up passing away in 1991. Sad. Tragic. 4. This song is a bit of a stripper anthem. That's not to detract from the song. It is what it is. Go to a strip club, it's possible/probable that you'd hear this song. That's it. That's all I've got. For now.
Rick Allen lost his left arm following a horrific car wreck. Doctors were able to initially reattach the arm but had to later amputate it. After taking some time to physically and emotionally recover, Rick Allen set out on the mission to play drums again. Allen, with the help of drum manufacturers, designed and created a kit that allowed him to utilize his left foot to compensate for the missing limb. And the other cats in the band waited patiently, showcasing their loyalty and devotion for their injured brother by going on hiatus for several years, until Rick was able to become the God Of Thunder once again 🤘
That right there is what’s so great about music, it is A universal language that brings people together and ignites passion and comradery. You love to see it
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts did “I Love Rock & Roll” You like it loud.. Joan can bring it. She’s amazing (Check out the band “The Runaways” she founded prior) The live version with 112M views is tremendous
I saw them twice in the 80s. They put on one helluva good show (that's why I went to see them again). The venue was "in the round" which means the stage was in the middle and the audience surrounded it. Not only that, but the stage rotated as they played. Not a bad seat in the house.
They sold out most of those shows! They were told not to bother doing ITR in the beginning because "nobody ever sells out those" but... they did. Over and over again. It was insane.
Back in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina hit, Rick Savage ( bass player) put his jacket up for auction he wore it at the 1988/89 MTV Awards... it's a beautiful light blue leather jacket!!! I ended up paying $1000 USD for it!! I seen these guys 18 times, and they're doing another tour here soon!!!
This video, along with most of the other "live" videos off this album we're all filmed at McNichols Arena in Denver Colorado. You can find this performance on their video titled "In The Round".
Joe Elliott proposed the name "Deaf Leopard" which was originally a band name he thought of while designing band posters in art class.[12][13] At Kenning's suggestion, the spelling was slightly modified in order to DEF LEPPARD to make the name seem less like that of a punk band.
In answer to your question about the band's name, it originally started out being spelled "Deaf Leopard" when lead vocalist Joe Elliott came up with the name, but they'd drew inspiration from Led Zeppelin in changing the spelling of the band's name
I won the bass player's (Rick Savage) jacket he wore at the 1988/89 MTV music awards, it was in 2005, all proceeds went to help Hurricane Katrina victims! I paid $1000.00 USD! Still got it!! It's put away!
Yes darlin', it's a mid-1980s "hair band" (rock band with hair). These guys were great (still are, they're still playing). The drums are electronic. The kit was special built for Rick Allen, he lost his leftarm in a very bad accident and they rigged it where he could play. His bandmates came to him in the hospital and told him he wasn't quitting, they would wait for him and he's been with them, their only drummer. They're a British band. I've listened to them since the beginning. I was in my 20s back then too, did some DJ work too. I'm in my mid 60s (your grandmother's age) and I'm still into rock. I loved this so much that I included it in my first book--my vampire hears it and she doesn't understand why anyone would want sugan poured on them. :) Glad you had fun with it.
Unfortunately Your Generation will never know the Experience of going to concerts like we had in the 80’s and 90’s.. not a camera in sight, save for the ones paid to record it
Yes it was an epic concert! I saw them in Atlanta in 1987. Yes we all knew. Loved them before the drummers accident and mad respect for the band for waiting for him to relearn how to drum at that level after the accident.
Rick Allen the Drummer lost his arm in a car accident, he was thrown out of the car through the windscreen but his arm was wrapped in seatbelt and sadly got ripped off, apologies for the graphic description but that is what happened.Surgeons sewed it bac kon but was later amputated due infection. The band refused to get another drummer and got him a kit that he can play majority with his feet, And Yes he deserves everyones respect for making a success of it and the band deserve respect for not giving up on him,
These guys have been my favorite since high school in the late 80s/early 90s!!! I have seen them 6 times live and they deliver every time!! They are still touring and havre persisted despite significant t setbacks, the drummer losing his arm in 1984, the death of one guitarist Steve Clark (the long blonde haired guitarist) in 1991, then the guitarist who replaced Steve has been treated for cancer and they are still going!!!
My life does not compare to that and I thank God for that. I find them inspirational for persisting despite difficulties. But mostly I just enjoy their music.
Pour Some Sugar On Me almost didn't even exist. Joe Elliott (lead singer) had written some lyrics and a hook for it after hearing Run DMC and Aerosmith do Walk This Way and so he was messing around with the idea of mixing two genres. The band had already completed their album, had the 11 songs they needed and were putting the finishing touches on it. Elliott was in the studio by himself and messing around with the song when their producer, Mutt Lange, overheard it. He immediately stopped everything and asked about it. Elliott said it was just a little something he had thought of, but Mutt insisted they stop everything else and record it, as it was the best hook he had ever heard. The band was not happy when they returned, as the album was already pretty much done, but Mutt insisted, and they banged it out in only a few hours. It became their single biggest hit.
I seem to remember that the band was originally called Deaf Leopards, but one of the guitarists pronounsed that name in a way that sounded more like Def Leppard.
Seen them twice. They were better than the other 2 that played before them Foreigner and Styx although those 2 bands were good Def Leppard was just so much better. Really got the crowd into it.
POUR SOME SUGAR ON ME THE BEST SONG IN DEF LEPPARD BAND AND DRUMMER HAVE ONE ARM BECAUSE DRUMMER CARSH AND LOST A ARM THEN NOW HAVE ONE ARM AND STILL PLAY DRUMS WITH DEF LEPPARD
Love your reactions. You were right. Def leppard is referring to the animal but the lead singer, Joe Elliot, purposely mis spelled it so the band would stand out.
This song is what I call "Def Leppard Training Wheels"... in that it's a fun starter track but it theres much better stuff in their catalogue. But for that this is the song that radio (and MTV) played into the ground.
Before recording, the original band name WAS going to be "Deaf Leopard" (Joe Elliot's idea). I believe it was Rick Savage (bassist) that altered the spelling to appear more "Rock" (calling to mind Led Zeppelin) and less "Punk." It was the right move.
Their photographer, the famous Ross Halfin, once said about their live shows in the 80s: "...and under the stage it would be like Sodom and Gomorrah. There'd be 60 naked girls, and I mean with nothing on them. I thought was really strange was how many mothers were willing to get naked under the stage with their daughters." 😲
you are correct the drummer has only one arm he lost it in a car wreck they were able to re attach it but they had to permanently remove it though for fear of gane green taking both arms so he actually went on to use a device that substitutes left arm functions like high-hat ect...to switch it to his left foot so all the hits he would do with his left hand he plays on his left foot ive seen these guys multiple times over the years and their still awesome to watch and he is still one of the best drummers ive heard play great live shows
The drummer has a set of electric drums ,he has extra foot pedals ,they help him make up for what he lost after the car crash, the band waited for Rick to heal up and rehabilitate his drum system, the floor drums are electric
Originally starting in 1977 Def Leppard hit the rock scene and is still releasing music today, new song Kick ruclips.net/video/kFIkLxB_grA/видео.html The drums are synthesized drums as Rick Allen lost his arm in a car accident. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts was the original group that did "I Love Rock 'n' Roll". Yes, Def Leppard puts on an amazing show. This band came out long before autotune (though may use a bit these days as they are in their early 60's) so rock, pop etc groups in the 70's and 80's had to have some talent to them because they didn't lip sync or have vocal correcting software. I'm an 80's brat but I also listen to several genres of music including KPOP (BIGBANG OT5, 2NE1, CL, The Rose, BTS, BLACKPINK and more, however I identify only as a VIP/BLACKJACK in fandoms). That video was originally recorded from "Live: In the Round, in Your Face" their tour so it is a "live section of a concert" and yes lol the 80's were pretty sexually charged lyrics. Fun tidbit they hail from Sheffield England lol. Sadly the long hair blonde guitarist Steve Clark Passed away on January 8, 1991 and was replaced by Vivian Campbell formerly of Whitesnake. Yes, yes, yes I am a Def Leppard fan.
Rick Allen is an inspiration to a lot of people. He could’ve easily just retreated to his place and just sulked away. He lost his arm in a car accident where he was speeding and lost control being ejected and the seatbelt took his arm. He was lucky where he crashed there was a nurse and I believe a police officer living nearby and heard the wreck and they helped keep him alive till the paramedics showed up. He thought his life and career was over after his body rejected his arm they reattached. A friend brought a boombox into his room and played some music and Rick noticed his leg tapping along to the beat and called the band in to tell them his idea and they were all for it. So he worked with a company that did electric drums and made foot pedals to play the drums he normally would play with his left arm. As I recall he only plays in shorts and doesn’t wear shoes so there’s no restriction when moving his legs to the pedals and the no shoes to feel the pedals to put the right pressure on it. Once he taught himself to use his feet to play they started touring again. Their first live concert with him back they hired a drummer to help out in case Rick got tired (it’s a major workout the way he plays) but the drummer got held up at the airport and was late to the concert. When he showed up they were already performing and his comment was why do you need me looks like he’s got it all covered. A big compliment to Rick. He was lucky and found a wonderful woman who helped him realize that he was suffering from PTSD due to the accident and helped him get help. She’s a singer as well and they’ve done a couple things together. They have a foundation called Raven Drum Foundation that helps lots of nonprofits to help veterans whether from the military or first responders focus on preventing suicide. He’s also a very good artist. He sells paintings to help his foundation. I saw them perform a couple years ago when I took my daughter for her sweet sixteen to see them and Journey and Rick still plays incredibly. He is the Thunder God.
Yeah Def Leppard are a great band and most of the members come from about half an hour away to where I live. Rick Allen lost his arm in car accident in 84 or 85 I think, he has a specially designed electronic drum kit, his story is remarkable!!
2years late since I just saw this video you made. Yes the drummer has one arm. He lost it in a car accident back in 1984. The song itself is about snorting Cocaine and the feeling of the high a person gets.
Yup you finally saw dat he has no arm but it plays drum so dope....... the group are the shit since I was a kid and from dis day there still dope.........
HE LOST HIS ARM IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND THE BAND WAITED 2 YEARS FOR HIM TO LEARN THE DRUMS AGAIN AND THAT'S A CUSTOM DRUM SET BUILT FOR TO PLAY LIKE HE USE TOO
They got their name from the lead singer Joe Elliott wanting to have a band called Deaf Leopard, but the original guitarist decided to change the spelling to be in line with Led Zeppelin who were popular at the time the band was founded
Thank you for reacting on my favourite Hard Rock Band! They're known for their Harmony on every song and for their Incredible Loyalty to their dummer when He lost his arm. They stayed with him and waited for him to recover. Also, if you have time I would suggest that you listen to their song Photograph or Armageddon It. Those songs were filled with amazing harmony and the guitar solo and outro that you've been looking for. For the song Photograph, search the extended version so you could hear the high notes from the vocalist for at least 9 seconds. Again, thank you very much.
Yes the drummer has only one arm he was in a car accident and the band never considered replacing him he told them he could still play and the band waited until he was ready to come back
If you want to hear these guys do a guitar thing, find their song "Switch 625." It showcases Steve Clark (one of their original guitarists, passed away in 1991) at his absolute best. No vocals, just guitar awesomeness.
The song that has "I love Rock n' roll" was NOT made by Brittany Spears. It was made by a Joan Jett who has a very good list of very great and wonderful music. I honestly think you should give her a look at. Yes, that drummer has one arm. He lost it in a horrible auto accident which I don't know the details of which you would have to research the details yourself. But he lost his arm back when he was 15 years old.
The video for Me and My Wine shows the drums with Deaf Leopard on it. They wanted to spell their name like Led Zeppelin, who they dreamed of being like. Check out the UK video of Pour Some Sugar on Me. It's funny.
Mutt Lange was their producer, and Rick Allen is a stud on the drums . This group stuck together when Rick had the roll over accident . He lost his arm and his girl at the same time. They stuck it out and it’s pure greatness
He has only one arm and better he told the band after the accident he had "you better find another drummer" their answer was "you better learn how to play with one arm we are not doing it without you" true friendship.

Are you going to the Stadium Tour This Year? Me & my Dad Saved our tickets and went to Orlando back on June 19th and had a Blast. Happy 4th Of July
@@AshtonG2022 I missed the stadium tour. I would rather see them playing a longer set with one other band. thanks! Happy 4th of July to you too.🇺🇸🇺🇸🎆
This was from a 1988 tour... concerts r set up w/ a stage at the end of a venue.
They got their name from a poster of a leopard with a megaphone at its ears
Actually the singer Joe Elliott drew that before the band even existed. And then Tony kenning the first drummer suggested they change the spelling to make it look sort of like led Zeppelin.
I have watched them twice.. as recently as 2019 .. They are awesome live! .. Btw .. this footage is from the "In The Round" concert in Denver in Feb 88 .. The drummer Rick Allen lost his left arm in a car crash 4 years ago so had a custom drumset built by Simmons which helped him replace what his left arm would play with at least 8 foot pedals
.PS - "I Love Rock n Roll" was sung by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts in 82.
And Joan's was a cover of a song by The Arrows that most of no one heard back in the 70s.
So dang hot!
Some of the first crushes I remember were on these guys.
What a fun reaction 🖤
It was inspired by the fictional band the archie's "sugar sugar" theres and episode of "professor of rock" on this album
I was waiting for you to notice the drummer but you were so into the song I didn't think you were going to get there lol
I was getting worried that you wouldn't notice the drummer! But you got there in the end :)
That moment where there's a good solid shot of Rick Allen's left side, I could see it: the realization that you never saw any drum hits with his left hand all concert, and there's a very good reason why...
I love your reaction when you see the Drummer
You spoke about how this was a great concert; when they made this video for Pour Some Sugar on Me and their next video Armageddon It, it was during their Hysteria tour of 1988. The footage compiled for those videos would also be shown for the VHS release of Def Leppard in concert called “Def Leppard: In the Round - In Your Face”. I think you can find clips of that show here on YT.
That song, what are you looking for in 1:55, is Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - I love Rock and Roll.
Here's the link to "Animal"

and their killer ballad, if you're into that, "Love Bites"

Pick one.... Or both. 😉
Thank you for the video, reaction and comments.
❤
You feel this song so familiar it's because even today it still plays on radio ALL THE TIME!
Kind of funny. I'm guessing that everyone that is aware of Rick Allen only having only one arm...we were collectively trying to figure out how long it would take until you noticed. And while it took you a while to get there, we were not let down. That moment..."Yep, she just noticed!"
Two more things.
You love to see it
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts did
“I Love Rock & Roll”
You like it loud..
Joan can bring it.
She’s amazing
(Check out the band “The Runaways” she founded prior)
The live version with 112M views is tremendous
I love your reaction
I've seen def leppard 4 times and they are awesome
This video, along with most of the other "live" videos off this album we're all filmed at McNichols Arena in Denver Colorado. You can find this performance on their video titled "In The Round".
Joe Elliott proposed the name "Deaf Leopard" which was originally a band name he thought of while designing band posters in art class.[12][13] At Kenning's suggestion, the spelling was slightly modified in order to DEF LEPPARD to make the name seem less like that of a punk band.
The producer, Mutt Lange, forbade them from doing big, wanky guitar solos. He wanted every guitar part to be melodic and support the song.
In answer to your question about the band's name, it originally started out being spelled "Deaf Leopard" when lead vocalist Joe Elliott came up with the name, but they'd drew inspiration from Led Zeppelin in changing the spelling of the band's name
This was filmed over two sold out shows at McNichols Arena in Denver Colorado in February '88. 16,000+ fans each night.
Love your reactions ❤ to my favorite bands. Takes me back.
I won the bass player's (Rick Savage) jacket he wore at the 1988/89 MTV music awards, it was in 2005, all proceeds went to help Hurricane Katrina victims! I paid $1000.00 USD! Still got it!! It's put away!
The name Def Leppard is a tribute to Led Zeppelin.
Disinformation my friend From the story Joe tells he thought of the name while making band posters in art class.
Yes they do put on a awesome concert
REALLY? XD
Yup... The song is all about is sex...
Seen them twice. They were better than the other 2 that played before them Foreigner and Styx although those 2 bands were good Def Leppard was just so much better. Really got the crowd into it.
Wow I was totally blown away by this video/song back in high school when it came on MTV! You brought it all back!! Thank you!!!
POUR SOME SUGAR ON ME THE BEST SONG IN DEF LEPPARD BAND AND DRUMMER HAVE ONE ARM BECAUSE DRUMMER CARSH AND LOST A ARM THEN NOW HAVE ONE ARM AND STILL PLAY DRUMS WITH DEF LEPPARD
I am Gen X, Def Lep is my fave. I love your reactions to this song. You made me subscribe
i was in high school in 1987 when this album came out still my #1 hit song on my youtube music.
My favorite band!!! And that show was awesome, I was there in 1988, Tacoma, WA!!!! Keep Rock Alive!! 🤘🏽🖤🔥🙌🏼 ℁
REALLY?! That must've been so awesome 😍
Before recording, the original band name WAS going to be "Deaf Leopard" (Joe Elliot's idea).
I believe it was Rick Savage (bassist) that altered the spelling to appear more "Rock" (calling to mind Led Zeppelin) and less "Punk."
It was the right move.
Those were Simmons Electronic Synth Drums. They are responsible for that famous 80’s tom drum sound and white noise snare sound.
you are correct the drummer has only one arm he lost it in a car wreck they were able to re attach it but they had to permanently remove it though for fear of gane green taking both arms so he actually went on to use a device that substitutes left arm functions like high-hat ect...to switch it to his left foot so all the hits he would do with his left hand he plays on his left foot ive seen these guys multiple times over the years and their still awesome to watch and he is still one of the best drummers ive heard play great live shows
Incredible band . Drummer is on another level
Joan Jett sang I Love Rock N Roll. Def Leppard was part of the Glam Metal genre from 1986 to 1990 before Grunge took over
The drummer has a set of electric drums ,he has extra foot pedals ,they help him make up for what he lost after the car crash, the band waited for Rick to heal up and rehabilitate his drum system, the floor drums are electric
I was at the palm hotel Sheffield for the first gig after he got out of hospital.
I'm a older man from Phoenix Arizona I've seen 12 times between Phoenix and Vegas they have never disappointed
You need to turn it up (volume) that is what us rock fans want to hear the tune not you.
1:51
I died for a second there. It was Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.
Love seeing peoples reactions when they first notice Rick on drums
I´m a straight man GiddyKitty, but yeah, so true they were so HOT. Only seeing the girls it´s all said! What an awesome group!!
That was Joan Jett not Brittney Spears lmao
"What?? I'll let you know in a minute." .... Honey, we already know. Rick Allen is da bomb!
Def leppard were the best at crafting radio friendly and ridiculously catchy songs.
Yup you finally saw dat he has no arm but it plays drum so dope....... the group are the shit since I was a kid and from dis day there still dope.........
He's insanely talented.
In my opinion Rana, these are the types of songs u should do more reactions to. I love this reaction. This song and this band are classics.
This was a fantastic concert filmed in Denver Colorado.
I love Rock & Roll was originally done by Joan Jett, you should check her out too!
Defleppard are great singers
It's funny.
Love your reaction. I'd suggest checking out more from them, they're great. Try Love Bites or Animal
Animal were first song that i have heard from them.
Love love
Mutt Lange was their producer, and Rick Allen is a stud on the drums . This group stuck together when Rick had the roll over accident . He lost his arm and his girl at the same time. They stuck it out and it’s pure greatness
If he "lost his girl" it's because she broke up with him. Never read anything about her dying in the crash. Which, if she didn't, she was very lucky.
