Hydrapak pioneered this design 10 or so years ago with their hydration bladders. So much better than Camelbaks because they were easier to fill and clean (you can simply turn them inside out; no more silly brushes and easier to dry). I went back to bottles, though. CNOC has basically ditched the drink tube and made it into a very good collection bag. Good on them.
Hey there! Thanks for the review. I get mine in tomorrow. I'm super excited. I'm going from a platypus gravity filter to this and a Sawyer squeeze. Should cut some weight and simplify things. Great videos. Keep on hikin'!
Looks like a great product and love the slider design. My new Columbia sportswear shadowfalls daypack has the same design of bladder. Absolutely love it over the old front cap design
Great review 👍 I received my vecto cnoc a few weeks ago. I use it with my sawyer mini and works just like you said. Much better than the bags that come with the sawyer. I’m always afraid those will break. But not the cnoc 😎
@Hike Oregon So basically this is platypus big zip same openings at top which has been on the market for while now. I wonder what the quality difference would be between them?
It is not the same. The Big Zip is a hydration bladder with a hose. The Vecto is mainly a water container for water storage and used for filtering. The main reason people are excited for this is because it makes filtering water with a Sawyer water filter EXTREMELY easy and there are no hoses you have to deal with or disconnect when getting the water. The reason I'm taking it on the PCT is because there are a few sections where I will have to carry more water than just my 2.5L Smart Water bottles can handle and the Vecto folds up nice and small and then offers me a few extra liters of water when I need to carry for long dry stretches.
I bought one and like it alot but there is some things you should be aware like folding the top the correct way before sliding the clamp over. I was not paying attention and the whole bladder dropped out, my error. also slide clamp easily slides out so carve a piece of wood for a lock. I only use this for dirty bag when filtering I still use my trusty evernew 2ltr bladder for water storage in my bag.
@@HikeOregon This bag is really cool, great design and really light! I haven't used my Sawyer squeeze yet... do you find you have to backflush with the syringe often? New subscriber :) 👍
@@richkunkiewicz1357 Thank you SO much for subscribing!! You know, it honestly depends on where I am backpacking and getting water from. I find that if I am filtering water from lakes that tend to have scummy bottoms I have to back flush more often than when I get water from clear streams. Also glacial streams (they often have a milky hue to them) are REALLY bad for clogging the filter and I have to back flush every few days.
That is awesome! I've never seen this type of water bladder before. As you mentioned most of those has trouble to fill the water into the bag so I need to dip my hand into the cold stream for minutes. Especially in the cold season, that work drops my body temperature and bring my body condition worse. Thank you for your valuable information.
You might have an older version. They have since fixed this issue. Reach out to the company and they’ll help you out. They sent me a new slider because mine was leaking from there and it fixed the issue.
They have recently changed manufacturers, so hopefully that will fix the issue. Everyone I’ve talked to has been really happy with it. I have not had any leak issues with mine.
Don't buy their blue topped one. I bought it and didn't get around to trying it out for first time right away. Right out of the package it has a pin hole. To late for a return. Glad I checked it out at home.
I really think the first C is silent. pronounced "Knock" Cnoc/Knock Outdoors BTW Great video, I love the 2L CNOC water bag Combined with the Saywer Squeeze. I also have their Carbon Cork Z style trekking poles. Amazing gear coming from this new and upcoming gear company.
The Platypus Zip Bags are water reservoirs with the drinking hose, meaning if you wanted to use a filter with that you'd have to in-line your filter. It is definitely not the same thing as the CNOC Vecto.
Yikes! You were the one who compared it to the platypus in the first place, not me! I enjoy you videos but Definitely not your snappy tone. Viewers beware!
Nasty R, what is wrong with you! You were the one with the "snappy tone" from the start. "Platypus Zip bag is the same thing. I have one and I love it'," so there . Really, so what! If you like your inline Platypus system use it, but it is NOT the same as CNOC. This polite young lady even apologized, but I don't see why. Lighten up, geez!
Those manufacturers were obviously not successful in producing a good product because I have not seen this type of water/filter bag that is this sturdy, lightweight and has the wide opening in any outdoor store.
@@HikeOregon sturdy ness is relative but yes well see how long this one stays on the market. The rear large opening is a no brainer. But the small one is the big issue were it might seperate or otherwise fail. In not trying to jump on your jugement of the product but id like to see resistance to abrasion and pinch or fold points and how much pressure it would hande be fore failure ie u standing on it with a filter attched or driving over it. Sure no one likes nalgines any more because of weight but you cant kill them. I dont quite get that feeling with this product. And there for why not use life or vitamin watter bottles that cost nothing and are lighter. I apreciate easy fill but this is less of an issue for my type of triping. If i can find the name and modle of the previous products ill post them. One might of been a very early platypus model
Also have to remember that the camping lifestlye market is a bigger shit show more then ever before and if an older market didnt support a product that doesnt mean todays current market of youtube pushers wouldn't also support it. Can simply be a case of ahead of its time. I appreciate your reviews but lets not pretend this isnt all mass produced garbage to make a quick buck.
Glad you like it Franziska! Good luck with the PCT section hike prep.
Love this product!!! Thank you so much

Cnoc, pronounced K'nok (knˠɔk), is a hill or a mount in Gaelic and old Irish.
Just as it says on their website ;)

Yes it definitely makes it easier and faster to filter water.
Thanks for showing us every detail of the bag in this well done video. You answered every question I had. My shopping list has one more entry now! :-)
Looks like a great product and love the slider design. My new Columbia sportswear shadowfalls daypack has the same design of bladder. Absolutely love it over the old front cap design
I remember those from the 80's. The Army bought a ton of them. They looked more like a bottle and I think they zipped closed. I'd like those better.
Great review 👍 I received my vecto cnoc a few weeks ago. I use it with my sawyer mini and works just like you said. Much better than the bags that come with the sawyer. I’m always afraid those will break. But not the cnoc 😎
Like that Total Domination IPA Box!
Mine come in a couple days. They are a great piece of equipment!
Is it good for wine
Do not put anything except water in these or any other type of water bladder. You will ruin it.
Enjoyed your video! I have the CNOC vecto as well. Great purchase. Just subbed!
Thanks! Welcome to the Hike Oregon family!

Total Domination!!!! That's so awesome!
Mines coming in the mail today 👍
Yay!!

@@HikeOregon Thanks for the help, can't wait to use my new setup 👍
Does this leak if stored in backpack for later use in case no streams water is near. Should I use a platypus bag for extra water bag.
No it doesn’t leak. It’s great for long mileage water Carrie’s or when you have to dry camp.
I just got one. I have a Sawyer mini and the flow rate stinks. I need to get a Hydroblu or a Sawyer full size.
I like the new Hike Oregon logo.
Thanks :)
page not found, and not on Amazon or Ebay either
Fixed the link. Thanks for the heads up!
Can you use this in a backpack or does the smaller opening at the bottom make it so it doesn't fit correctly?
You can put it in a backpack.

Can you filter lake water or just stream water?
With the Sawyer Squeeze you can filter any type of water, it doesn't matter if it's from a lake or a stream.
What about salt water?
That's awesome, great review and very informative. Did you get this at REI? I would like to get one.
No. They are only sold on the CNOC Outdoors website which I have linked below.
Hike Oregon Thank you, I'll check it out.
Mine leaks from the cap. Keeping it for on-the-spot filtering only.

@@HikeOregon Actually, I just bought it a few weeks ago.
Very cool; thanks for sharing
excellent vid and product
have you done a review on this?
Pretty sure you just watched the review :)
end of summer review
It’ll be featured in my PCT gear recap video where I talk about water collection and cooking food.
awesome! looking forward to it :>)
Mine leaked on both ends. They sent me a replacement.... It leaked to. Check the reviews on Amazon and the cnoc website... Seems it is a common issue.
They have recently changed manufacturers, so hopefully that will fix the issue. Everyone I’ve talked to has been really happy with it. I have not had any leak issues with mine.

Thanks for watching!
How does water taste out of this bladder? Any plastic taste or smell? Thanks!
Doesn’t taste like anything :)
Hike Oregon Thank you for the quick reply. I'm going to get a couple!
Thanks for the info! BTW: you were breathing really fast in front of that sink 😂
I sped up the footage. Otherwise you’d be watching me filter water for 2 minutes.
Hike Oregon I know, was just teasing. Thought you’d get a laugh. Thanks again for the info!
I'm thinking about getting one 🤔
You totally should!
Hike Oregon I ordered one yesterday 😉👍 I should get it by Friday!
They are awesome but they are significantly heavier than the poly bags
What are poly bags?

I’ve never heard anyone say the name of this company before so I didn’t know.
No worries! The only reason I know, Is because of watching " Darwin Onthetrail " and " FollowBigfoot" .
Darwin pronounces it wrong...if you look at CNOC's own videos, they pronounce it Ka-nock
Platypus Zip Bag is the same thing, I have one and love it.
