    The CNOC Vecto is a great piece of kit. It is what should have come with the Sawyer. Thanks for sharing

      The Sawyer supplied bag is awful IMO. I agree. Not sure why they couldn't do better. Thanks for watching

      Personally, I’ve never had an issue with my 32oz Sawyer bags.

      I was watching his videos and saw your post... :( Couldn't believe it at first so I googled, and sadly he did pass away. May he rest in Peace and Hike on Forever. Thanks woodswalker for your lovely humble and honest videos

    I've used the CNOC bag now in all seasons and its BIG weakness is heat. As soon as the ambient temperature outside goes up the (already very supple) plastic gets even softer, and the threads leak like a sieve.
    This is actually a real hazard when using a gravity setup w a sawyer because unfiltered water leaks out the threads and into the filtered water container.
    I keep a close eye on it all the time, and tie a drip line on the filter to divert drips from leaks or the bag itself from contaminating the clean water.
    Be very careful!! No one wants beaver fever in the backcountry.

    you can also put snow it in,let it melt hang on the center pole of the tipi,stove will help with the heat,and the morning youll have some water.

    Looks like a useful product and like you said it will be good for winter camping considering how much water it can carry. Thanks brother!

    love this 2019 bag, I have the 2lt version and it is by far the best bag I have, "not bloody cheap though" and had to buy it from your side of the water as you just could not get them in the uk

    Being able to quickly fill up the bottle from the bottom, is definitely a lot better than trying to get it through the cap. I think my concern would be cross contamination on the cap because you’re dipping it into the water. It definitely looks a lot more robust than that other one. 👏👏👏👏🥓🥓🥓

    • @MegaWoodswalker
      @MegaWoodswalker  5 лет назад +1

      I am thinking it might be less as the cap remains on. With the platy the cap is in my hands which are often covered with the non potable water during the process aka potential transfer to the inside of the cap. Though to be honest I am not sure. Thanks for watching brother!

    Walker, thanks for sharing, this was a timely video as I was just looking at these , couldn't decide between the 2ltr or 3ltr . They seem much better than the sawyer bag. Appreciate the review 👍

    Thanks for the review , just looks like any other hydration bladder, the slit at the top is for you to secure it in a hydration pack , most have it , I have three like it. Their all about the same , some of them the plastic is a little thinker then others

    This is great! I made a gravity filter with tubes and the like. Works well, but this looks way simpler. May have to look into getting one. Thanks Walker! Have you ever used charcoal filters with your Sawyer?

    Do you notice a difference in sediment if you point the mouth of the container downstream? A different guy said you should do that.

    • @MegaWoodswalker
      @MegaWoodswalker  5 лет назад

      I don't think that would work with a water bladder and moving water. I have tested my wide mouth Nalgene after being told by someone it was better. I didn't see any difference but wouldn't surprise me if this was true. Pure human observation without actual scientific methodology can be faulty. Thanks for watching!

    How long did the filter take to fill the cup?
    Thanks for the quick review.

    • @MegaWoodswalker
      @MegaWoodswalker  5 лет назад +1

      I didn't time it however seemed reasonable. I am also curious how it holds up to a freeze. I know the filter would crack internally but we are talking about the bag.

      @@MegaWoodswalker Yes - test the bag in a freeze, not the filter.
      We will have to make sure that some bacon and bourbon is on hand (as a control).
