Apparently Congress thinks the railroads not truckers keep the US alive so they won't mandate rail companies to give rail workers any sick days and they won't let rail workers strike to try to get them.
One of the major reasons why I like to get up at or before 4am is so I can shower at the truck stop before the showers fill up, and so I can shut down early enough to shower at night if I didn't get one in the morning. It's so much easier to find parking when I shut down by like 6pm! I also love watching the sun come up while I drive, and being on the road before it gets crowded. But I agree with you, prices for parking and showers are high!
Got to admit, I've had the same problems you had docking way more than I care to admit. Then again, I'll pull forward and try again 1000 times before I'm willing to hit something
It's been a while since I've watched one of your videos Shelby. It also warms my heart to see Kota with you. As much as you say he is driving you crazy, you wouldn't trade that for all the money in the world. What a truly wonderful traveling companion! He truly cares about you and loves you...
Shelby, as far as the landing gear goes, necessity is the mother of all invention. Keep doing what you, be safe, and keep showing us that beautiful smile.
Sweetie, Gramps from Ft. Worth here! I will say that this was one of your more pleasurable videos, but it did seem a tad short, but still you were the perfect hostess! So stay safe, both of you, and stay warm!... 🤗 💖 🥰 🚛
Shelby, we’d love to know about your journey through these new carriers. I can understand if you don’t want to talk about it, but it can teach a lesson about finding the right fit. I’ve driven for more carriers than I’d like to admit because I didn’t know what I was looking for. I’m happy where I am now driving tanker. Stay safe, driver! Keep the rubber side down
I always do my time before I talk about them, if at all. I will consider sharing information in the future. I have to be careful with what I say so I generally avoid the subjects.
Kudos to both of you I'm too nervous to change carriers for almost 5 years with the same company (mega carrier). I'd like to change but with the current economy it seems safer staying with them. Idk I've done it all but I'm surprised I'm still doing it. Thought I'd be back in IT. Anyways keep on trucking and stay safe.
@@rx2powersports I don’t want to speak for Shelby, but I didn’t jump from carrier to carrier for the fun of it; I just couldn’t find the right fit. Along the way, I discovered I didn’t actually know what I was looking for, so that’s why nothing was working out for me. Now that I know what I want, I know exactly what to look for, and I think I’ve landed in a pretty good spot where I am now. There’s nothing wrong with staying put for now, but I think if you’re not making at least $90,000 a year, you’re selling yourself short. The opportunities are out there with well established carriers who can make it through these uncertain times. But do what’s best for you!
What a great upbeat video. It shows you really like what you do so you do it well. Boy your hair really looked nice after your shower. Ya road grime can be some of the worse. I remember years back you were very lucky you had air-con. Now a days it’s everywhere. Well I must say what a great upbeat video, was a pleasure to watch, have a great and a safe day, happy trails…
Some of your most basic vids turn out to be the best 👍😎 We have two German Shep Dogs at home and their personalities are JUST LIKE Dakota’s! You could not ask for a better people companion pup. Stay the course, Shelby. I know it’s getting harder and harder to be a MC, and probably bigger challenges coming, but you are so appreciated. And prayed for. Literally. If you ever need help here in Utah, just shout. 👊
Hi Shelby and Dakota awesome seeing both of again love 💕 video and thanks for being a trucker and you have excellent protector in Dakota always watching out for you’re safety awesome job backing up and as always you both be safe 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Love the tunes you added Definitely made me chuckle watching this with the pup commentary 😂 You inspired me to get my CDL last year.. now, I’ve gotta get some more experience before I can come drive for you 😬🚚
Take it easy. You have a lot on your plate. As much as I love your videos, your well being is far more important to me. Say hello to Dakota . Enjoy your day. Thank you for everything you do for me.
Another super awesome video and love your creative with the yellow spider bungee, lol who could not see that bright yellow. Wow it getting super expensive for parking and shower so I totally understand why you don’t sometimes do it!! Glad you GoPro came back to life after charging it! Lol great shot of Dakota furry and love the comments! ❤️❤️
Shelby, My wife and I both enjoy your videos very much. At 62 when many of my contemporaries are either retiring or contemplating retirement, what do I do? Get a CDL, switch careers, and hit the road....sort of. I don't do the OTR stuff, but I do regional hauling for a hazmat tank company in the Chicago suburbs. I got my A around the holidays last year (I had my B for a few years and drove school buses "part time" (ended up being over 40 hours a week including charter work) and have been driving tankers since April. Many of the trailers I haul have either no hook for the gear handle, or one where no matter how I futz with it, the handle won't hook into the hanger. I didn't know I was driving around advertising a potential DOT violation. So far I luckily have never had and inspection - although perhaps it would be better if I did and then maybe it wouldn't loom so large in my mind with each passing weigh station! Many of my rookie mistakes have been things that I caught myself by watching other truckers do it right. That's how we learn out here. Keep up the good examples. Say "Hi" to Dakota . My wife loves her especially (but don't tell our pups Ramen and Noodle). My wife is currently embarrassing them with their Aldi pet Christmas sweaters and PJs. Hopefully Dakota doesn't get offended when people mistake her for a boy!
Hi there. Don't worry about starting your clock. Try using the split sleeper berth method on your logs. Winter is hard. Don't let em get ya down. Keep up the good work. Peace.
Hey Shelby, just in case you don’t know, you can operate all GoPro cameras without a battery if you have them on a USB cable to whatever power source you’re using, like a 12v socket adapter. If you mount one or more GoPros in the cab, you can literally leave them powered up and on standby and then start and stop recording on all cameras simultaneously using the GoPro wireless remote. It’s great to never have to worry about a battery running empty and missing shots all the time because of dead batteries.
@@ShelbyHBTM I’m glad I mentioned it then! I power up 4 GoPros and connect them to the remote right before I start driving and leave them all on the entire day until I shut down. Whenever I want to capture something, it’s as fast as pushing one button on the remote. There’s a vid on my channel that I made to show my setup. Hope it’s helpful! Love your channel and always look forward to more content! Oh … and please give Dakota a huge hug from me. I’m a big fan of GSDs and Dakota reminds me so much of my girl, Kora, who passed away a few years back.
I love this video Shelby, it's just so real. I'm so glad to be with you as you take us along with you on your daily deliveries. 12/02/2022 Fri 12:19 am EST. . Blessed. 1
Two videos in a week! Christmas has come early. Hope you and Dakota are staying warm. Got caught in a good bit of snow the other week in Indiana, S. Dakota, AND Wyoming three separate time and ended up being a day late delivering. Oh well, my rookie behind never saw snow before moving up here. Wherever you are out there on the road, keep on being you! Mahalo!
Great song at the end Shelby!!! I noticed your sunglasses dropped down over your eyes a couple times while backing your trailer in...I hate when that happens!! lol. I really hate when I leave my glasses up like that and when I go to use them I'll flip them down and they'll be greasy from my hair being dirty...time for a napkin!! Take care and stay safe young lady!!
Everyone deserves a break occasionally. If you don't take a sabith, you will burn out. Woman, the Caribbean is really nice this time of year, or Hawaii.
Good day Shelby and Dakota! great video. Now I have to get a "spider" bungee(LOL). Hope you have an awesome week! Until the next video, Cheers from P.E.I Chris.
