Thank you. Am looking to set up a few web cams on my allotment for my viewers and this video has answered most of the questions I had. Thank you.

I’ve heard about boaters and people living in remote areas using a set up called Star Link.
I haven’t looked into Star Link, but I’m assuming that it’s quite pricey.
Do you know anything about the Star Link system?
Thanks for the video. Much appreciated.
    🙂🐿🌈❤️

Star Link is Elton Musk's satellite system apparently it is very good but is pricey, around £75 per month I understand, so beyond my budget. You also need a clear view of the sky so moored up under trees along the canal it wouldn't work so well.

Oh thanks for that info, much appreciated.
      £75 a month 😳!!!!
I’ve just come back here to add that apparently Starlink is a total power hog.
So regardless of price, it’s not going to be great for an off grid situation.
I was just watching a video from a sailor crossing the Atlantic and he uses something called “Iridium Go” I’ve never heard of it so I’ll be doing some more reading, (it’s a 12V system)
Anyway, take care of yourself and I’ll see you in the next video 🙂

Thanks for the detailed explanation. How do you run the cable into the boat please? Via a window or more elaborate? And do you flatten the antenna when you're on the move?
    Thanks.

Hi Alan. I’ve got one of those Huawei 4G small mobile units which serves me well where I am currently moored & I charge it up with 240v as have got electric hook up. If I’m out travelling can I plug into a 12v lighter socket to charge 🤔🦆💕

Hi Pam. If your Huawei unit is like mine you will be able to charge it via a 12V lighter socket. I am assuming that you use a USB cable to the 240V plug so just connect the USB to a lighter socket. If your Huawei unit came with a permanently wired 240V plug like the one in the vlog it should tell what the output is, if it’s 12V you just need to get a USB cable and your good to go. Hope that helps. 😊
