This March is indelibly etched in my brain. We played it everyday during the warm up (1982-1986). It was faster when we were marched. They probably slowed it down for the recording, FYI.
This version is being taken at a nice leisurely 120, and there is nothing wrong with this, it sounds great, as does everything the famu band plays, but keep in mind that this is a screamer, a circus march, and was intended to be played at a nice brisk vivo, at least 150 or maybe even 160. Just saying...
Coming from a former 100 member (1999), this is FAMU. Notice at the end of the march, there is no note (stinger). Most bands that play marches ,play the stinger at the end.
Thats Cool Thats Cool, but it seems like i heard more recording of this on here that sound like the same exact recording of it, thats why i said that lol
Just Your Everyday Band Geek It’s a marching band. Try marching and playing this at tempo. You can’t come to a marching band expecting them to play it at the tempo you play at sitting down
That sounds absolutely wonderful. You know, you can really catch the spirit of Dr. Foster with this march.
Woodwinds..... You guys jus moved me, REP THEM CLARINETS.
Deon Wimberly clarinet here ❤️❤️.
By far my favorite March back in the 50's and 60's when I was a proud member of the hundred "hubba Hubba"

You are a pioneer of the piccolo section. The piccolos were always so crisp and in tune. Hubba!
My high school band marched in your homecoming parades during those years. I had a blast. You guys and girls were INCREDIBLE!
