I would recommend draining the floor and if possible, laying down a concrete slab to build up off of. Possibly add some form of roof cover structure to redirect the water away from the roof.
Love your socks!😂 You are right, your castle really is a disaster. But, it takes baby steps to realize your dream. Keep your chin up and take another step.💖
Your commentary cracks me up every time! Seeing this before l, after the walk through the other day reminds me just how far you’ve both come! Amazing work y’all are doing, love the progress
so it looks like it's a pier and beam foundation, so those holes are meant for ventilation to keep moisture out.. but it obviously isn't working.. might need to regrade the ground around the castle to divert water away. I also recently watched a japanese carpenter redoing his house and he suggested putting 3/4-inch crushed stone down with pier and beam to also help with the moisture problem, especially since it's sitting on that good ol' texas mud.
Love that y’all are finally getting started. You have a lot of people following your journey and hanging onto hope with you. I’m brewing up my pot of tea and saying a prayer for y’all! ❤️😊

@@MoneyPitCastle people like watching installation of beams, joists and noggins, just ask a few of the Chateau guys they get a lot of views on those video's. Make sure you film a lot of that, it helps pay for the wood and steels. take a look at Dan's Channel & Billy's Channel and have a cup of tea - Dan (escape to France) just finished his last floor and Billy (The Petherick's) just started the floor in the Library. Dan will be starting on his roof soon, a complete ruin rebuild due to fire. If those two can do it, you and your wife can too, don't be discouraged. I felt your frustration when you showed the main floor ripped up. One bite at a time. You have stopped the water coming in and that is amazing! Well Done!!
October and November you could have hayrides around the property. Locals would love it. Startup would be small and shouldn't cut in to the construction time. Most rides can be given when the sun goes down. Could be easy to just ask for tips instead of charging for a flat fee is an option. I grew up around here and always wanted that property to be fixed up. I have worked on many houses down here and know you have your hands full. Good luck.

Thanks so much. Yes we love it, as hard as it gets. We love the place. New video coming up just finishing editing
Wow you have come a long way since the start--just keep ploughing ahead--follow your dream.
Haha yes I just watched the first video this morning and yes it's a big change.
Appreciate you watching and supporting us🎉
So envious. Always wanted to do this.Best of luck and keep it up!
If you had your "tea is hope" saying on a shirt, I'd wear it to work (psych hospital)!!
Tea= Hope
Hope=Possibilities
Ha ha ha ok, coming up
Really need that water intrusion to be fixed . 2 days is a long time to be pumping water. Need a faster pump or the same water you’re pumping out is making it back in
I love you guys. Almost cried when the light bulb worked. 😊
Haha yes I was more happy than I really should have been. Over a light bulb. Glad I wasn't the only one
@@MoneyPitCastleIt isn't just a light bulb, it's the Light Bulb of Hope. When you both discovered the lone bulb in the ruins, you attached the success of the project to faith the bulb may still work. And it does. It's like God was right there with you saying KEEP IT UP YOU'RE DOING WHAT I WANT YOU TO DO!
I'd have fell to my knees and wept like a lottery winner. But I'm a wierdy.
oooh congrats on the beginning of rebuild...alll the best
Thanks a lot 🏰🏰🏰
WoW, the project is really coming along. Well done
Thanks! Next video big step forwards
I would recommend draining the floor and if possible, laying down a concrete slab to build up off of. Possibly add some form of roof cover structure to redirect the water away from the roof.
Thank you mate
so glad we have another video, thank you
More to come!
You just came up in my feed and I watched everything so far! Love it! Please keep the hope!
That's very cool, you're all caught up! You're here at the perfect time 🏰🏰🏰 Welcome to the chaos ☕☕☕
Love your socks!😂 You are right, your castle really is a disaster. But, it takes baby steps to realize your dream. Keep your chin up and take another step.💖
Haha thank you. We had someone send us some socks in the mail. It was a nice surprise.
This place must’ve looked amazing when it was first built!
I think so too
Your commentary cracks me up every time! Seeing this before l, after the walk through the other day reminds me just how far you’ve both come! Amazing work y’all are doing, love the progress
Hello! Good to hear from you. Hope you and your 12 year old 19 year old are doing great!
so it looks like it's a pier and beam foundation, so those holes are meant for ventilation to keep moisture out.. but it obviously isn't working.. might need to regrade the ground around the castle to divert water away. I also recently watched a japanese carpenter redoing his house and he suggested putting 3/4-inch crushed stone down with pier and beam to also help with the moisture problem, especially since it's sitting on that good ol' texas mud.
More frequent updates, even if short, would be welcome!
Next video coming up!
In Texas you gotta watch out for scorpions and snakes too when you're renovating. Be careful stay safe. I look forward to seeing it finished❤
Thanks! Not seen scorpions yet but snakes are everywhere
With all the rain you get you should build a moat around the castle and pump all the rain from the roof and crawl space into the moat!
@@erichorn3414 mate we are on the same page that's exactly what we are doing LOL
Love that y’all are finally getting started. You have a lot of people following your journey and hanging onto hope with you. I’m brewing up my pot of tea and saying a prayer for y’all! ❤️😊
Thanks Dawn! Yep it all kicks off from here. Stay tuned.
We appreciate your support it helps us to read comments like this 🏰☕❤️
AW I always love seeing your updates :) A good brew. always sorts you out :) I can't wait to see the rebuild begin :)
Thanks so much.
It's coming.
🏰🏰🏰🏰
Maybe you could sell future tickets to tour the inside of the completed castle along with presenting a picture of what it would look like when finished.
That's a great idea
And the stone one, I'm going to do that on the crennalations at the back
Love your videos. Wish you updated more often!
I will try! Especially now things are moving quick
What an undertaking. Keep it up, you guys got this!
Thanks so much. We will keep going.
So glad I found you guys through a comment you left on an encapsulated crawl space short. I can’t get enough of this kind of stuff.
Hi there mate! Yeah I was researching the crawl space stuff. I love it too. Thanks for been herez you're here at the perfect time
Thank you guys for restoring this always wanted to see in inside of this place
Thanks a lot! This video was some months ago, we are doing good now. I'll get a new video out tomorrow
Man y'all really tore it out good 👍👍❤❤❤
Haha it tore itself up I think. Demolition was pretty easy.
@@MoneyPitCastle I can't wait for next video
It looks like you are in need of a French Drain all around the Castle. I'm looking forward to seeing what you have accomplished. It's not as bad as it looks, bit of paper towel and a cup tea all will be right with the world. I was just looking at your channel last week thinking, should I poke him to upload lol
That's right! We have done the grading and it made a huge difference
Good luck.
Thanks very much. Yes its a pain lol. Lots we can do just need to get the grounds sorted too, pool removed next.
Thank you
Just found you. Can't wait to see more.
Thanks a lot Claudia!
“Claw machine” lol! 😂🙌
💡💡💡
That's the one! And it's free.
Kind of
@@cidsanta4204🏰💡🏰💡🏰💡🏰💡🏰💡
Rooting for you guys! I love that you're putting in the work to save the castle instead of tearing it down or buying a brand new house.
Thanks! It would have been easier to do that. But yes it's a special place, we love it
You should hit up Lipton, Tetley or maybe even Adagio Teas for a sponsorship my friend. I binge watched all the episodes and now I'm drinking tea, so that I can have hope. You'd make a fortune. Also I truly love the progress I saw, and I hope y'all are successful. Tonight though, Beryl is off the coast and about to rain down on us, so I hope that you guys are ready for her and I hope the hope is staying alive.
Good idea! It'll have to be Yorkshire tea though
Your videos are so funny, you could talk about anything and I'd watch. And yes, as others have said, post more often! Tea sponsorship is a great idea--as well as any other tools you need. Never hurts to ask!
Thanks a lot! Working on next video right now. Gonna put some pressure on myself and try get it out by Sunday.
Wow what a mess. Hang in there ❤
Haha we are good! Just gotta get on with it! Appreciate you been here
Beautiful Castle. I am enjoying the journey.
Thanks alot! It will be beautiful by the end 🎉🎉🎉
YES!! It works... :D Good Luck.. Am so excited..!
Yay! Thank you!
OMG, an armadillo! In Virginia, they don't have a shell and we call them opossums. 😛
They're really special looking animals. I'm sure this guy or girl is still wondering around
Haha and yes we have a few of them too
I bought a fixer upper last year and have been spending 2 hours a day and 14 hours on weekends turning it into our dream home. I always love coming to see the progress on Money Pit Castle, watching your videos keeps my fire burning to keep pushing through on my house even though it feels like its never gunna end
I know the feeling!
I'm glad we can help, always helps to see others in similar situations. Good luck with it
I actually see a lot of progress here, and it's very exciting! Kiss the dillers for me. ❤
Yep it always looks worse until better
I can hardly wait to see what you do to this place. Maybe Cory could be a sponsor.? Haha!
Haha, I'll ask. Idk if he's still rich
I am in awe of your passion and dedication. It’s so easy to get discouraged, but if you can stick it out, I know it will end up being amazing.
Thank you so much!
Sending you two the best tea vibes ~~~~~~
we love the tea vibes!
you will get it done. Castle is in a better state now than when you got it
Thanks! Definitely is. Just getting rid of all that weight and crap is a big deal
Looks like your doing a great job of getting rid of rot. Its going to be exciting to see things going back in now. Happy to see your post.....was just thinking you hadn't posted in a bit .😊
Thanks alot! Working on next video as we speak. And yes it might have looked like a mess here but it smelt so much better lol
At least a weekly video or more if you can. We love to watch, love your commentary. You need to monetize your RUclips accout too it will help make you money.
