Thanks for good tips 🙏🏻 Summary: 1. Make sure the SSD doesn’t run hot. Use heat sink. 2. Don’t fill up the SSD close to max capacity. Keep lots of free space. 3. Don’t use secure delete on a regular basis. 4. Avoid power outages. Use UPS.
One thing I always suggest to people who have an SSD and a mechanical drive in the same computer is to move the browser cache to the mechanical drive. There is a slight speed penalty, but browser caches write lot of very small files to the disk, and that's not good for SSDs.
Yes Brian I remember a few years ago filling a drive and basically not being able to get anything back from it and ended up installing a new (and larger) drive and having to reinstall Windows 7 not a pleasant experience because I was less savvy back then. Yes I use a UPS too now for many years and it has saved my data on a few occasions in the event of brown outs and power outs. Nice video and full of info for the folks who are jst starting out in computing at home.👍👍
I run secure erase on my flash drive (Sandisk Cruzer Force 32GB) and it was toasted. I could no longer write anything on it, only read old files. It was hard lesson about SSDs. Those secure erasers are designed for old magnetic disk drives. It's better to just have encrypted drive if you're paranoid about your data.
Nice to see what your NVME operating temperature was. Mine was operating at 30 degrees Celsius but since I have put a big graphics card next to it, has jumped to around 40 degrees Celsius. Put in an extra 140 mm front fan but I was a bit concerned about it getting to a certain temperature point .
Can you please create a debloated custom windows 10 and share the ISO with us. You are the only person who we can trust. Please make one it would mean so much to a lot of us. Thanks in advance.
If I want to remove my old HD from my Windows 10 computer and install a new blank SSD and migration is not an option which software do I use to install Windows: Windows Media Creation Tool USB flash drive or Windows Recovery Media Creator USB flash drive?
If anyone do not know the expensive UPS also last long to 30-40 minutes so if you are playing games or doing your work simply save it and shutdown the computer as it will save the data and your computer both. Hopefully it helped someone
yes indeed fast as hell had to replace 1gb toshiba mechanical hdd on lenovo laptop and put a 1tb icoolax 2.5 ssd also it never gose beyond 30c temperature wiese

I always try to leave at least a 100GB open on my drives. If something should need the free space it's already there.
How about installing stream on your hdd rather than ssd will it badly affect gaming performance, any games in that matter?

SSD life is poor for a photographer and video grapher who rewrite it often .
It’s not. Just avoid the cheap ones. make sure to buy high quality SSD, preferably server class.
