- On this trip we head into the BWCA on Brule Lake. We paddle through the wind and portage a few times before getting into Winchell Lake where we find our camp for the next few days. Winded, rained on, minimal fish, but still an amazing trip.

This is an ambarrasment.
I've neverfigured put why people load and launch their canoes "bow out" like it was a boat at a dock. Being a canoe camper next to the BWCA all my life, I got tired of teaching others when I was loading.and launching. I can't count the times I've watched the wobble and tip over because of it. At 72 now, I just laugh and paddle off.
